Chapter 231: Chapter 231: Having Many Friends Isn’t a Bad Thing
Chapter 231
Aria Taylor didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "You really don’t know anything about him, do you? I don’t know what you’ve been up to all these years in the Collinses. You’re terrible at networking."
Raine Nolan felt her chest tightening with suppressed anger. "Do I really need to know him?"
"Of course you do! Otherwise, don’t go around saying you’re my cousin."
Trying to force a smile even though she was clearly annoyed, Raine asked, "So, how exactly is he so great figure, oh enlighten , dear cousin."
Aria’s eyes sparkled as she began to explain. "His full na is Charles Carrington. He’s a top-tier lawyer in Grearon, and he has a lot of side gigs, the most famous of which is being a racecar driver. He’s from the Ferrari racing team, one of the greatest F1 drivers ever. Throughout his 8-year racing career, he’s almost set new records in every category and won a total of five championships! People even gave him the nickna ’Charles the Great’ because of his incredible driving skills.
But that’s not even the most impressive thing about him. He’s also the heir to the Carrington Enterprise, the Carringtons of Orlando. You must know about them. Back in the days, the Carringtons were once as powerful as the Fosters. They still have a lot of influence nowadays, pretty much monopolizing the economy in the South.
If you still don’t get the picture, think about Alexander Foster. You know him, right? He and Charles are childhood friends. They’ve known each other since forever."
Even before Aria had finished speaking, Raine’s expression had already changed.
She wasn’t interested in racing or lawyers and thought that a famous lawyer was rely soone who argued on behalf of others. But, when Aria ntioned the Carringtons and Alexander, she understood that this man was no ordinary person.
Of course, she knew about the Carringtons, one of the five top-tier families in their country.
Previously, the Carringtons had resided in the Capitol, but they moved to Orlando about a decade ago. Since then, they had very little interaction with the three big families here.
Raine had heard from her mother that so personal grudges from the older generation had sothing to do with it.
As for the details, she had no idea.
During her ti at the Collinses, Raine had often found opportunities to visit the Fosters, but she had never t Charles nor even heard his na.
She figured that the grudges from the older generation had sothing to do with Alexander’s generation, too. They were friends but didn’t visit each other’s hos very often.
Raine’s mood seed to have improved quite a bit. Her eyes lit up like Aria’s as she suggested, "Cousin, let’s ask him for his ssaging app later."
Aria scoffed lightly. "Why, are you interested in him now?"
"It’s always good to have more friends. Besides, I’m with the Collinses, and our family used to be on good terms with the Carringtons. I think it would be appropriate for
to greet him on behalf of my father."
Aria arrogantly snorted. "Well, you’re finally understanding what’s good for you."
After thinking for a mont, Raine suddenly asked, "Who’s the guy racing against Charles today? Is he soone important, too?"
When it ca to this person, Aria waved it off. "Not even close. He’s just a newbie with so racing skills, and his background is nothing compared to Charles. Don’t bother concerning yourself with him."
"Excuse , I’ve been hearing you talk about ’Charles the Great’ and ’Aaron Hill’ — I can’t help but want to chi in." A stranger walked up to them suddenly.
Aria and Raine turned to see a man wearing a work ID, glasses, and a polite expression, though there was anger in his words.
Aria looked at him disdainfully. "What, you don’t believe ? Everything I said is true."
