Chapter 182: Chapter 182: Framing on the Scene

Chapter 182

She silently took the bottle of water and drank a small sip with her head tilted back.

Alex stood beside her, his voice warm and pleasant in conversation, like the murmuring of a stream.

Once Sophia had cald down, everyone continued to eat without bringing up the little incident with Raine.

Alex sat down again, taking the seat next to Chloe.

Sophia was actually quite dissatisfied with everyone’s lack of criticism towards Raine, but considering Raine was ultimately the one chosen by her own son, scolding her in public would not only be a slap in her son’s face but also a sign of disrespect towards Tristan.

Tristan had also made a response earlier - that the young girl’s lack of experience had led to an amusing little mishap rather than innovation.

Thus, everyone tacitly chose not to bring up the matter any further.

However, Raine felt extrely uncomfortable and ate without tasting anything, her head lowered.

She was fully aware of the consequences of the formula she had made - it had caused her great embarrassnt in front of her peers and elders!

And she had nearly caused the loss of a life.

For a perfur, the failure to create a high-quality perfu was a disgrace, and she had made the most basic mistake, so much so that she had even produced a toxic concoction!

If this were to get out, how could she continue to make a living in her field?

Moreover, it would be damaging to her reputation.

If any of those present at the scene were to spread the news, soon enough, everyone in their circle would know.

She tightly gripped her chopsticks, unwilling to accept such an outco.

After all... it wasn’t a formula she had co up with on her own!

The more she thought about it, the more panicked and upset she beca, and with Rosalind not by her side, she had no one to turn to for advice!

After so deliberation, she gritted her teeth and stood up.

"Everyone!"

Her raised voice imdiately caught the attention of the elders who were chatting and laughing.

Tristan’s mood was already sour, and when he saw her like this, he scolded her with a frown, "Just eat your al and don’t interrupt when your elders are talking!"

Raine looked up at Tristan: "I’m sorry Father, I’m sorry Cousin. I know it’s wrong to do this, but I believe in taking responsibility for my actions. That’s what you taught

growing up, so I’ve decided to be honest."

Chloe’s eyes held a touch of coldness as she listened to Raine’s words.

Raine continued with her firm voice, "Actually, the formula for that perfu was not mine, but it was given to

by my cousin."

"What?" everyone exclaid in surprise.

Raine said, "Not long ago, my cousin gave

a book of perfu formulas, telling

to learn from it. So I did. When she gave it to , she specifically ntioned that I should create a perfu according to that formula, saying that it would surely amaze everyone. I believed her, so I went ahead with it."

She moistened her lips, adding, "I know I lied earlier by saying that I developed the formula myself, and I apologize for that. But compared to hiding the truth, I didn’t want you all to misunderstand . I’ve been learning to create perfus with my mother for many years. How could I possibly create a toxic perfu? This ti it was solely due to my cousin’s misinformation."

Everyone wore a mix of expressions on their faces.

A few of them were already frowning at Chloe with their displeasure apparent.

The Master’s complexion darkened, his gaze filled with gravity as he directed an unusually stern look at Raine, "Do you have evidence to back up your claim?"

Raine was secretly glad she had brought the manuscript with her. She had only taken it in case she didn’t rember the formula properly, but now it turned out to be very useful.

She imdiately took out the book, "This is the handbook my cousin gave . My aunt’s na is even written on it."

With that, she handed the book over to the Master.
