Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Jealousy and Envy
Chapter 127
After the host said a bunch of things that made the students nearly fall asleep, the award ceremony began.
This ti, all three grade levels had their exams at the sa ti. Therefore, the ceremony focused on recognizing the top ten students in liberal arts and sciences for each grade, along with their teachers’ nas.
When the school leader read out the score of the first-place winner, Raine Nolan, thunderous applause erupted in the audience.
The teachers clapped and said, "The difficulty of this exam was much higher than the previous one; getting such a score is not easy at all."
"Raine has indeed lived up to our expectations."
Rosalind Taylor maintained her elegant posture, lifting her chin. She quietly enjoyed the envious glances from other parents.
Next up, it was ti to recognize the top perforrs in individual subjects.
As the school leader read out from his script like an emotionless machine: "In the sciences, year 3, first place in Chinese: Brittany Jones, 145 points; English, Raine Nolan, 148 points; Math, Chloe Collins, 150 points; Physics, Chloe Collins, 120 points; Chemistry, Chloe Collins, 100 points; Biology, Chloe Collins, 80 points."
After announcing the scores, the school leader showed so emotion, saying: "This student, Chloe Collins, is quite impressive, but she has so severe disparities in her subjects. We hope you continue to work hard, the teacher has high hopes for you."
The audience was silent for a few seconds before a thunderous applause erupted.
Everyone in the room was looking for this student nad Chloe Collins.
"Amazing! She actually got full marks in all subjects!"
"I’ve never seen such an arrogant score in my life."
"Where is this girl? Which one is she? I need my child to be friends with her!"
Admiring words continuously ca from the side, and Raine Nolan couldn’t help but want to gag them.
She couldn’t help but recall the conversation when she called her teacher to confirm Chloe’s scores two nights ago. The teacher told her—
"Raine, are you questioning our teachers’ ability to proctor or grade exams? Don’t ask such questions next ti. Our Affiliated High School is a place for hidden talents. It’s not impossible to score full marks; just focus on your studying."
Her teacher’s words made her feel uneasy all night long.
To the side, Rosalind Taylor’s face hardened as she listened to the conversation. Her eyes, cold, shifted to the side of the room.
Suddenly, she saw soone and montarily froze.
Quickly, Rosalind’s eyes were filled with surprise beyond belief, and she chuckled.
"Raine, the person sitting next to Chloe Collins, why isn’t it Master Foster?"
Raine Nolan, feeling miserable, turned her head as well.
"Huh? Isn’t that our school’s chemistry teacher? Why is she sitting in the parents’ section? Besides... she’s Mia Nolan’s mother."
Rosalind Taylor sneered, "She didn’t even attend her own daughter’s eting and ca to attend soone else’s instead. What’s wrong with your teacher?"
Raine Nolan let out a relieved sigh, "I knew it, Grandpa Foster only ntioned it casually."
Rosalind Taylor turned her head back and said quietly, "Your teacher probably took pity on her and didn’t want her to leave an empty seat. Although, she is quite ddling in other people’s affairs."
Raine Nolan shrugged indifferently. She couldn’t be happier knowing Chloe Collins would be feeling left out at the mont.
At this ti, the microphone was handed to another school leader, who started announcing the "Most Improved" awards.
"In year 3, the student with the most significant progress is Diego Willis from class 25, with a total score of 5115 points. Compared to his previous exam, he improved by 3112 points!"
