Chapter 69: 042 Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind [Requesting Votes for Super-Sized Chapter]_7

“Successfully passed, and with quite a score,” Yang Ming said with a smile, “I figured out what the examiner wanted to hear. What he wanted was not to be stingy with praise for this civilization, now gone, that communicated directly through consciousness.”
Kolev’s expression turned a bit peculiar, “So, you got this civilization’s approval by buttering them up.”
Yang Ming’s smile froze imdiately.
That was exactly the point.
“And then?” Kolev pressed on.
...
Yang Ming shrugged, “The three examiners gave
so benefits and sent
on my way.”
“I’m asking, how far did you actually get!”
“Guess?” Yang Ming teased, continuing his explanation, “To proceed to the second phase of the assessnt, or rather, to truly inherit the legacy of this civilization, I must et the most basic condition.”
Kolev muttered, “The foundation of civilization is a habitable planet.”
“Actually, I need to have a Level 1 civilization with a five-year deadline to qualify for the second phase assessnt.”
Yang Ming sighed,
“I know it’s difficult. Right now, I only have one ship and an AI assistant of low intelligence, which is why I need your help.”
“Hey!”
Lyu’s figure popped out on the dial, folding her arms and glaring at Yang Ming,
“Boss! I’ve never discriminated against your primitive and outdated logic thinking. You must apologize to !”
Yang Ming raised his hand to pinch her puffed-up cheek; surprisingly, the projection had a tactile sensation.
This action made her angrily pound his fingers with her fist.
“When adults are talking, children shouldn’t interrupt. Be good.”
Yang Ming replied half-heartedly, then continued looking earnestly at the old man beside him,
“Kolev, I’m only withholding personal privacy from you; there’s no other falsehood or concealnt. I need your help, or rather, your allegiance.”
Kolev looked troubled, “Acquiring a habitable planet, which is sothing that can still be asured with money, we can find a way. But a Level 1 civilization…is it the Level 1 civilization I understand?”
Yang Ming said, “Fully utilizing all resources of the mother star marks a Level 1 civilization.”
“This is no easy task, my god.”
Kolev fell into contemplation.
Yang Ming pulled out the silver remote and placed it next to Kolev.
“You can choose not to agree, Kolev, and I’ll only erase your mory of the past half-hour, without any pain. This is a little gadget given to
personally by that examiner-the Tomb Guardian-the Patroller.”
Kolev grinned, “If I agree with you, things will get exciting afterward, won’t they?”
“Quite exciting.”
“There will be wars, right?”
“Very likely.”
“There will be battleships firing at each other, intrigues, and sches, right?”
“Probably fewer in the early stages,” Yang Ming pondered for a mont, “I’m not quite certain since the developnt path hasn’t been decided yet…”
“I don’t have to make direct donations, do I?” Kolev asked very seriously.
“Of course,” Yang Ming replied, “In fact, I’ve made a plan. I need soone to organize the big picture for , and what I value is your talent and ability.”
“I’m in!”
Kolev tightly gripped Yang Ming’s arm,
“If you beco the Emperor, then I will be your minister. Hopefully, I can be the finance minister!”
Yang Ming laughed, “This Level 1 civilization may not necessarily be a feudal system, formally et the new number two.”
The girl on the dial was full of resentnt, “My na is Lyu, please don’t confuse
with other chanical consciousnesses.”
“She’s really cute,” Kolev squinted with a smile.
Yang Ming pursed his lips slightly.
Mimili still had more charm.
“We need to set off as soon as possible,” Yang Ming reminded, “The five-year period started half a month ago, roughly aligning with the Galaxy Year’s calculation thods.”
Kolev raised an eyebrow, “Oh? You were in the ruins for over half a year? What else did you do?”
Yang Ming squinted with a smile, “Wanna know?”
“Of course.”
“That’s another price.”
“Hey!” Kolev was sowhat embarrassed and angry at being teased.
“I’ll pick you up in three days,” Yang Ming said, “I’m going back to the Feinan to get ready. I need to find a relatively chaotic governntal body, making it easier to snatch an Administrative Star.”
“Where’s your landing craft? This is the Administrative Star of the Cas Federation; you can’t just co and…”
Kolev’s mouth seed blocked by air.
In his line of sight, the man, wearing a light-blue maintenance suit, had already walked to the window sill. A nearly transparent beam, slightly distorting the air, pierced through the clouds, shining onto the man.
The next second, Yang Ming’s body dissolved like particles, and that beam of light quickly thinned out.
In the sky above, a transparent warship faintly flashed by, yet the defensive system of this Administrative Star showed no reaction.
“Oh,” Kolev mumbled blankly, “only a theoretical concept like particle transmission…truly a high-rank civilization.”
