Chapter 543: 239 You really live up to my expectations, Master_3

And behind the queen, over ten male insects resembling beetles—the ministers of the Insect Swarm—closely followed behind the queen.

Further back was a dense mass of adult insects, too nurous to count.

Griss’ lips twitched slightly.

Would resisting forcefully result in heavy losses?

No, if they tried to resist, there was an eighty or ninety percent probability that they would be killed instantly.

“Captain, the enemy is about to enter the explosion zone!”

A flash of Spirit Light crossed Griss’ mind; he wasn’t aiming to destroy the queen—it was unlikely she could be crushed directly—he needed to deal with the queen’s high mobility to create an opportunity for White Ghost. The key lay in the Land Expansion Worms at the very front of the queen’s entourage!

Griss pressed the detonation button a few seconds ahead of ti.

Buzz!

The cara feed showed the simultaneous detonation of several explosives, destroying the cara itself.

The ground quaked violently, parts of the fragile underground tunnels collapsed, even temporarily sealing off Griss’s escape route.

—No matter, as long as they could annihilate the queen and wipe out the Insect Swarm, they could bring in hundreds of drilling devices to open new passages in a short ti.

“Did we stop the queen and her entourage?”

“I still have working monitors! We stopped them! Those dozen or so Land Expansion Worms were crushed!”

“White Ghost is catching up from behind! Holy shit! He flew right up!”

“Share the screen quickly!”

Though Griss was quick, he only caught about ten seconds of White Ghost.

White Ghost’s form was sowhat strange, enveloped in a red light mbrane, with his left hand raised above his head, holding a large sword hilt that looked like the main weapon from his Fierce Ghost cha.

And his free flight—without any vector thrusters aiding him.

Wherever he passed, the Insect Swarm was thrown into chaos, and when the insects tried to block him, the Light Sword in his right hand easily dismbered the adult insects in front of him.

“Is this even a human?”

A Supermodified person issued this soul-searching question.

Griss sighed lightly, watching the insect swarm scatter like headless flies on the projection screen, then sat down on the damp slope with a thud.

His mission was complete.

“Where’s our captain?”

“Which captain are you talking about?”

“Catherine, Golden Mask.”

“Oh, the War Goddess? Haven’t seen her, she was just here.”

Griss frowned and opened the communication interface to contact Catherine, but suddenly he heard several explosions not far away.

The Mother Worm was blocked off from her escape route, now emitting shrill screeches, marshaling the group of Fifth Rank adult insects into a defensive formation.

But Yang Ming’s figure continued to advance.

He got closer and closer to the Mother Worm.

Yang Ming’s eyes had turned blood red; the pitch-black underground was as bright as daylight on the surface to him.

Through the gaps of the densely packed adult insects in front of him, the queen was within sight.

Only fifty seconds of energy supply left.

Yang Ming took a deep breath, his right-hand Light Sword retracted, and with both hands held high, he embraced the cha’s gigantic Light Sword!

The queen shuddered all over, preparing for her final struggle.

The adult insects charged madly towards Yang Ming!

Suddenly!

A stone wall collapsed to one side, and several spinning ion beams swept forward, tossing the limbs of adult insects aside.

“Ah~~”

Bryant’s dolphin-like cries.

Buzz, buzz!

That was the sound of the Ship-Slicing Blade quickly in motion!

Yang Ming looked up and saw the figures leaping out from behind the broken stone wall.

Catherine had transford her mask into a half-mask resembling a mouthguard, her ponytail flailing wildly behind her as she charged toward the queen with the Ship-Slicing Blade in hand.

Yang Ming:…

This was supposed to be his big supplent!

Buzz—

The giant Light Sword emitted a blade of light; the charging Yang Ming swept through the insect wall in front of him, spiraling up in a leap…

Half a minute later.

“General! The Mother Worm has been killed by the Dagger Squad!”

“The Insect Swarm is in chaos!”

“Comnce the annihilation! Do not stint on the energy from the ships! Don’t let a single insect escape!”

Aboveground, the imperial fleet pressed down in full force, barraging the Dune region with beams of light, while the ground landing forces began a reverse chase after the fleeing adult insects.

Belowground, next to the queen’s enormous corpse.

Catherine, panting for breath, stood in the corner, leaning on the Ship-Slicing Blade. Her legs softened as if she’d collapse at any mont, but she was steadied by a strong hand reaching out beside her.

This armor didn’t feel good to the touch.

“Tired already? Captain, you’re not in great shape either.”

Yang Ming’s voice, laced with a teasing tone, rang out beside her. Catherine looked up at him and unexpectedly felt much more relaxed.

Golden Mask was removed by Yang Ming’s other hand.

She still seed astonished as the strong hand around her waist suddenly pulled her into a strong embrace.

“Rare opportunity.”

Yang Ming whispered sothing in her ear, but Catherine’s mind was still a bit dizzy and she didn’t understand the aning of his words.

The next second, Yang Ming suddenly bent down to kiss her still moist lips.

Catherine’s eyes widened, she instinctively tried to struggle, but Yang Ming had already let go and leaped back, deftly avoiding her kicking combat boot.

“You!”

“This is called a kiss, an intimate interaction between n and won,” Yang Ming explained earnestly, “didn’t you want to experience what love feels like? Consider this a practical lesson; you’re welco.”

Catherine covered her mouth with the back of her hand, cursing in a flurry, “Scram!”

“Right away, Captain! My new chanical body will return to the squad in two days!”

Yang Ming’s form lifted again, flying towards the location of the Fierce Ghost cha.

Catherine bit her lip softly, the Golden Mask floated back in front of her and she grabbed it, placing it back over her face, instantly switching to full mask mode.

Above, Bryant, hanging in the air with his flight pack, couldn’t help but squint with laughter.

You certainly live up to your reputation, Master.
