Chapter 383: 179 Molly’s Letter for Help_2

A few seconds later, Edwan sent a reply.

[The Emperor with Electric Hips, “Wow, Ming, you’re actually going to the Fifth Administrative Star for research! This completely overturns my perception of you!”]

Yang Ming chuckled, called out to the people around him, and turned off the virtual equipnt in the hundred-square-ter suite, gathering a dozen or so won around him for a group photo to send to Edwan.

[The Emperor with Electric Hips, “…You’ve really done it now. I’m so busy I’m about to cough up blood, and you’re there having fun! Where are you? Can I co over?”]

Yang Ming quickly replied on his watch.

[Yang Ming, “I’m on the Fifth Administrative Star, just ca here on a whim. Need

to handle any trouble for you? Like assassinating so officials or nobles.”]

[The Emperor with Electric Hips, “Actually, there is sothing I’d like your help with. I’ll send you the details; it’s about the candidate for Governor of the Fifth Administrative Star, and I’m a bit indecisive.”]

Ding ding!

Edwan sent an email, and Lyu quickly organized the information inside.

Edwan had selected three officials, and on the surface, they all appeared to be young and competent with outstanding political achievents.

A planetary Governor is akin to a regional Governor, so Edwan was naturally very cautious, especially when it ca to selecting the next Governor for the complex situation of the Fifth Administrative Star.

Yang Ming asked the won around him to go dance, leaving him alone to read the docunts.

Lyu quickly provided supplental materials.

Among the three officials, two had corrupt behavior, while the remaining official was the least impressive in terms of capability.

Yang Ming was torn but ultimately chose the one with integrity.

He felt that the Fifth Administrative Star needed such an official to correct the bad habits within the political arena.

A lack of ability could be compensated for, but the desire of an official who had engaged in corruption could not be curbed.

By the ti Yang Ming sent the ssage back to Edwan, the dance floor had beco empty.

Outside, night had already fallen, and this club had beco more lively. In the various private rooms, the wealthy who ca to relax or network sought bodies to satisfy their desires.

Sexual resources here had beco commodities, priced openly and consud recklessly.

Yang Ming still couldn’t decide to spend the night there.

He threw down several stacks of virtual currency and left the club calmly.

Where to go next?

Yang Ming wanted to check out the night scene here, have so specialty dinner, and experience the fireworks of urban life.

“Boss,” Lyu’s voice ca from the watch, quietly reminding him, “026 has been waiting for you in the parking lot for a long ti.”

“She’s in the parking lot?” Yang Ming wondered, “Didn’t she go ho?”

“Sothing unpleasant happened,” Lyu clicked his tongue lightly, “Hasn’t 026 been sending most of her salary back ho for the past two years? Her parents and siblings have been living well, bought two properties, and acquired so businesses.”

Yang Ming frowned, “Are they really repaying her kindness with ingratitude, trying to exploit what’s left of 026’s value? What kind of soap opera scenario is this?”

“That hasn’t happened.”

Lyu sighed softly,

“They suspect the money 026 earned isn’t clean, plus a lot of neighbors and relatives are saying she’s in the sex trade to acquire so much money.

“At first, 026 couldn’t even get into her own house; it was her mom who rushed back from the factory to let her in.

“Her father even subtly asked her not to co back so easily. Her family is cautious around her, fearing both cutting off financial support and their reputation.”

“I just learned a new term today—idle gossip.”

Yang Ming frowned, “Did you explain for her?”

Lyu sighed, “026 didn’t let

explain. She said it’s all good as long as everyone’s life improves. That’s just her nature.”

Yang Ming turned into the parking lot, heading for the hover car they’d sat in before.

He initially thought 026 would be particularly depressed, but as he neared the hover car, he heard the intense beat of drums from inside.

Yang Ming made a gesture to the car window, and Lyu quietly lowered the window on the driver’s side, letting burst of energetic music pour out. 026 was nodding her head to the beat, with a projection screen full of shopping interfaces in front of her.

She seed to be in pretty good spirits.

Knock knock!

Yang Ming knocked on the car door, and 026 glanced over, then let out a small yelp and awkwardly turned off the music, jumping out as she pushed the car door open.

“Boss! You’re done!”

“Watch your words; what do you an ‘done’? Drive to a nice hotel with a good environnt, hit the brakes when you see a good restaurant on the roadside, and recomnd

so local specialties,” Yang Ming yawned, “Let’s just treat these days as a business trip for tourism, and you accompany

to the sights on the Fifth Administrative Star.”

“Got it!”

026 opened the car door, making a bowing gesture inviting him in, “Boss, please get in.”

“Hmm, you’ve got potential as a doorman,” Yang Ming comnted with a smile as he took his seat, closing his eyes to rest.

The hover car slowly left the parking lot and headed toward the nearby food street.

Yang Ming had rested for less than five minutes before his watch started vibrating continuously.

This made him a little annoyed.

He ca to relax, not to work.

Having spent half a day in a night club helping Emperor Wind decide on the Governor for this Administrative Star had already depleted his interest in nightlife escapades, and now soone else was stirring trouble for him.

“Boss, Molly sent a distress ssage.”

Mimili?

What happened to the Star Widow?

Yang Ming suddenly felt re-energized and asked directly, “What’s the problem with my dear niece?”

Lyu’s projection appeared on the console, then floated in front of Yang Ming with a sowhat peculiar expression.
