Chapter 338: 162 True Man Battle

The Earl of nsa was a bit bewildered.

His grandson was still lying in the treatnt chamber. Although there was no longer any major issue, the severe injury was indeed real.

The diplomatic delegation from the Luofeng Empire was on their way, but half an hour ago, they abruptly announced that they would not go to the courthouse ship hovering on the planet’s synchronous orbit; instead, they applied to enter the atmosphere to engage in negotiation and talks at the nsa family estate.

Is there anything left to negotiate?

Things were already so clear: the Princess of the Wind severely injured the future heir of the nsa family with a sharp weapon. Wouldn’t recognition of error, compensation, and punishnt of that wild and fierce Princess by the Wind royal family suffice?

What bewildered the Earl of nsa even more was…

Five minutes ago, Lady Mag from the Foreign Affairs Bureau contacted him, requesting that he lead the nsa family to sincerely apologize to the Wind royal family.

What logic was this?

Was this still the Sherman Empire?

The Luofeng Empire was rely a vassal state with incomplete sovereignty. It was just a dog of the Sherman Empire!

Yet, as a hereditary noble of the Sherman Empire, from an old Earl’s family, he was to apologize to the Wind royal family?

It seed utterly ridiculous.

The Earl of nsa sat in the covert study of the manor, smoking a cigar-like mixture designed to refresh the mind, trying to calm himself in the haze.

While investigating the incident, although he was obstructed by his own son, the Earl of nsa had a rough idea of what had happened.

It was no more than the decayed behavior that often appeared between nobles.

The victim, his grandson, liked so mature and beautiful won, which, to the Earl of nsa, was no big deal.

Wasn’t he like this in his youth too?

n needed ti to mature, and to indulge a bit when young, that was perfectly normal.

Now that his grandson was severely injured, that was a fact; they were the victims.

But Lady Mag was a shrewd and capable noblewoman; she would certainly not speak without basis.

Letting Dana beco his foster daughter, the Earl of nsa, was all arranged by Lady Mag back then, when she was not yet the deputy director.

The nsa family gained a princess from a vassal state, enhancing the family’s honor, and the Imperial Foreign Affairs Bureau placed a spy in the vassal state, strengthening control over it.

Both sides benefited from this matter.

Moreover, the Earl of nsa understood the terrifying energy behind Lady Mag. Her husband was a general with real power in the Imperial Army, and her father was a retired minister who was still vigorous and had once been deeply trusted by the Emperor.

The Wind royal family, the Earl of nsa could afford not to care.

But Lady Mag, he had to handle with caution.

What pressure was Lady Mag under?

Ring, ring—

The old-fashioned and peculiar military communication device rang.

The Earl of nsa glanced at the bust on the communicator, hurriedly extinguished the ‘cigar’ in his hand, quickly adjusted his collar, and chose the connection button.

An elderly general with white hair, wearing an imperial military uniform, appeared before the Earl of nsa.

This was a Vice Admiral, the Earl of nsa’s superior officer from the past, with a rank and family power far above his own.

“Earl nsa,” the Vice Admiral frowned and asked, “Is your grandson all right?”

“There’s not much of an issue now, just a typical penetrating wound,” the Earl of nsa responded imdiately, “The young man had a bit of a conflict after so drinking, and I didn’t expect it to disturb you.”

“How did you teach your grandson?”

The Vice Admiral said coldly,

“A young, robust lad nearly got killed by a fifteen-year-old girl! Is this how the nsa family, built on military achievents, operates?”

“General,” the Earl of nsa whispered, “It’s my poor teaching that has disgraced the Empire.”

“Glad you understand,” the Vice Admiral said, “The Luofeng Empire’s diplomatic delegation will soon arrive there; this matter must not escalate, do you understand? If your grandson can move, he should get out of bed and apologize to the Wind royal family; let this matter end here.”

Apologize?

The Earl of nsa frowned and said, “Why? It is my grandson who was severely injured. They should be the ones to apologize!”

“Even if I don’t know what happened, to force a fifteen-year-old girl to resist must involve so vile deeds!”

The Vice Admiral’s gaze was stern:

“Do you know why I contacted you? A Duke personally called, asking

to contact you, because I am your superior and military guide, so I’ve been dragged into this thankless task too.

“Your nsa family has offended soone you shouldn’t have. The new Emperor of Wind, Edwan, is very adept at socializing; he maintains good friendships with various nobles.

“The financial power of the Wind royal family is their calling card in social interactions — rember, go apologize!”

The Vice Admiral hung up the call, leaving the Earl of nsa in continued bewildernt.

Did the Wind royal family have such power?

Ring, ring!

The Earl of nsa saw a sowhat unfamiliar yet familiar bust and suspiciously chose to answer.

It was an old man with a shiny, oily face, smiling in formal attire:

“Hello, esteed Earl nsa, it surely wasn’t easy to get your contact information.

“How is your grandson?

“Oh, right, let

introduce myself first. I’m the director of the Vassal States Economic Developnt Division of the Imperial Treasury. We’ve t before at several high-level banquets…”

The old man droned on for quite so ti, leaving the Earl of nsa a bit confused about the purpose of his call.

“Are you trying to be a lobbyist, asking us to spare the Princess of the Wind?”

“Yes, approximately that,” the director chuckled, “Are you familiar with the Wind Empire?”
