Chapter 157: 093 Mimili’s Big Gift
In the corridor outside the transport ship,
A young man and woman walked side by side.
Mimili kept turning her head to look at “Uncle Hanton” beside her, as if she wanted to confirm his identity several more tis.
Although Yang Ming provided various pieces of evidence to prove his identity and accurately spoke the eight words that made Mimili’s cheeks flush slightly, she still found it hard to believe.
“Dad said you were dead.”
“Hmm,” Yang Ming clasped his hands behind his back, his deanor like that of an old scholar, with a faint smile on his face, “Feigning death to avoid trouble is a common trick in the pirate trade. Kolev didn’t lie to you; I tricked Kolev and found him later.”
It was a well-intentioned lie.
Mimili stopped walking, folded her arms, and leaned her shoulder against the wide fra of a porthole asuring several ters in height, her beige-tight combat suit outlining her near-perfect body curves.
She used the starlight outside to reflect in her eyes and then refracted the light toward Yang Ming.
“In your eyes, am I also untrustworthy, Uncle Hanton?”
“Mimili,” Yang Ming replied with a smile, “I can only trust myself.”
Mimili shrugged slightly, “ too, we can only trust ourselves… You set up this thing, are you planning to establish a new pirate base?”
Yang Ming nodded with a smile, speaking slowly, “I’m currently operating within the Luofeng Empire. Your father is into business, and I’m in politics, preparing for a big move; this base is the backup plan.”
“Wow,” Mimili furrowed her brows, “Is my dad here too? Could he be on the Fifth Administrative Star of Luofeng?”
“Of course not, why?” Yang Ming asked with so curiosity.
“I noticed sothing unusual about Molly.”
Mimili gave a light snort through her nose.
“She is nominally my primary service subject, but in reality, she still follows my father’s orders. She had been continually hinting for
to recruit team mbers and then directed
toward the barren Fifth Administrative Star.”
Yang Ming’s expression suddenly turned a bit odd.
Kolev indeed could do such a thing.
That old man, why not just say he wants his daughter nearby, instead of hemming and hawing like this?
“He’s very old, considering the number of tis his cells have divided,” Yang Ming said softly, “although I’m planning to get him so telore suppressants to extend his life by ten or twenty more years, he’s still an old man, don’t bla him.”
“Hmph?”
“Mimili, you might need to spend more ti with him.”
Mimili was silent for a mont and then, as Kolev often did, forcefully changed the subject.
“Uncle Hanton, are you planning to develop in the Luofeng Empire? That’s really not a good idea.”
Yang Ming chuckled, “Why?”
“There’s about to be a military coup here,” Mimili said earnestly, “I have a reliable source; the Luofeng Empire is about to erupt in a coup. The military will soon overthrow the royal family.”
Yang Ming’s forehead sprouted two question marks.
What kind of gossip tabloid news was this?
He whispered, “Mimili, have you ever heard of a captain who narrowly escaped death in the Luofeng Empire?”
Mimili pouted slightly, “I never paid attention, but I heard about it. An anti-chanical missile attacked a hover car and didn’t manage to blow that guy up. That guy’s life is practically unbreakable.”
Yang Ming, “That was .”
“Wow,” Mimili blinked repeatedly, “Those ridiculous single-man missiles really are hard to hurt an uncle protected by the Protection Shield.”
“Yes, that’s right, the Protection Shield saved .”
The fourth version of the lie.
Yang Ming smiled, “Don’t worry about the so-called coup, Mimili. The coup in the Luofeng Empire should be just a rumor out there. The royal family has the Sherman Empire backing them. If the military dared to attack the royal family, the Sherman Empire’s fleet wouldn’t just sit by.”
Mimili, however, let out a few hearty laughs and said triumphantly,
“You’re wrong, Uncle Hanton, there will definitely be a military coup.
“This is confidential intel I stumbled upon; Uncle, you need to pay
for this. Molly… Molly? Where on earth did that lazy bum go!”
“Lyu,” Yang Ming called softly.
A weak light flickered, and Lyu’s holographic projection appeared next to Yang Ming, “Boss.”
“Bring out Molly.”
“Yes, boss,” Lyu replied softly, nodding in greeting to the curious Mimili.
The floating projection ball quickly flew over from the direction of the bridge and hovered over Mimili’s shoulder.
Communication between the projection ball and the pirate ship resud.
Molly’s silhouette appeared above the projection ball, sitting like a duck, her eyes moist with tears, her gaze vacant, the entire “person” sowhat absent-minded.
Yang Ming glared fiercely at Lyu, who calmly looked up at the overhead deck.
“Captain,” Molly whimpered, “Molly No. 2 is really impressive now.”
“Is this actually Molly No. 2?”
Mimili looked at Lyu in surprise, “She has completely changed… I an, it’s not just her appearance settings that have changed. Her entire deanor is different.”
Lyu chuckled proudly, “You understand chanical thinking.”
Mimili blinked at Lyu and imdiately said, “Molly, bring out that recording you captured, the one of those two guys conspiring for a coup.”
Molly hurriedly replied, “I might have deleted it; your work keeps
constantly out of disk space. I will search for it right away!”
Yang Ming appeared puzzled.
Lyu monitored Ilando Star’s network 24/7, keeping tabs on the royal family and key military figures, and was unlikely to be oblivious to signs of an impending coup.
But then, as Molly played the recording, Yang Ming’s expression grew increasingly grave.
The conversation seed to have taken place in the bathhouse of a starship passenger vessel.
Two n, using the cover of running water, whispered stealthily; once the noise was filtered out, their voices beca distinct and clear.
