Chapter 67: Amarok’s Dilemma (2)

Amarok’s cheeks flushed, and he quickly looked away, trying to hide his reaction. The twins were toying with him, testing his limits, and it was taking everything in him to maintain his composure. He knew he couldn’t afford to let them see how flustered he was, couldn’t let them know how their attention was affecting him.

Once the bath was finished, Amarok helped them dress, his hands steadying as he focused on the familiar routine. But as he adjusted Lucian’s collar, he couldn’t help but feel the weight of the prince’s gaze on him, as if Lucian were reading every thought that crossed his mind.

"You’re doing well," Lucian said quietly, his voice almost gentle as he watched Amarok’s hands work. "But rember, you’re here to serve us in every way. We expect nothing less."

Amarok nodded, though his heart was pounding. "Of course, Your Highness."

Julian stepped closer, his smile widening as he took in Amarok’s flushed cheeks and downcast eyes. "Don’t be so serious, Amarok. We’re not monsters. We’re just...curious."

The word hung in the air, heavy with implication, and Amarok’s breath caught in his throat. He didn’t know how to respond.

The twins sat down to breakfast. Amarok served them in silence, his mind buzzing with the effort of keeping up with their needs. Every task was doubled, every instruction carefully considered, and the twins’ synchronized habits ant that if he made a mistake with one, he risked displeasing both. It was a constant juggling act, one that left him drained but determined not to falter.

Yet, as the days passed, Amarok couldn’t deny the growing dilemma that gnawed at him.

His feelings for the twins were becoming more confusing, more intense. He found himself drawn to them in ways he couldn’t explain, both Lucian’s strength and discipline and Julian’s charm and playfulness. It was as if they were two halves of the sa coin, and he couldn’t help but be srized by both.

Their presence was a constant weight on his mind. Every touch, every glance from them seed to carry a double aning, and Amarok found himself growing more and more confused. His feelings for them were growing, despite his best efforts to suppress them, and it was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain his focus.

But he knew better than to let those feelings show. His last relationship had ended in disaster, his insatiable desires and need for attention driving his lover away. The sha of it still weighed heavily on him, and the thought of repeating that mistake terrified him. He couldn’t afford to let his feelings for the twins surface, especially not when they were so far out of his reach.

He tried to focus on his duties, to suppress the emotions that threatened to overwhelm him. But the twins made it difficult. Julian’s flirtations were becoming more overt, his touches lingering a little too long, his smiles a little too suggestive. Lucian, though more reserved, watched him with an intensity that made Amarok feel as though he were being constantly evaluated, weighed, and asured.

One evening, after a particularly exhausting day, Amarok found himself alone in the servants’ quarters, his body aching from the day’s work.

He was exhausted, both physically and emotionally. He lay down on his cot, staring up at the ceiling, his mind spinning with thoughts of the twins.

He ran a hand through his hair, frustrated and confused. He couldn’t quite understand his uncanny desire for the twins.

He had served them only for only a short ti, but already they had a hold on him that he couldn’t shake. Every interaction with them left him breathless, every touch set his skin on fire. But it wasn’t just one of them that stirred these feelings, it was both.

It was confusing...

He knew he had always been drawn to n, had felt desire, but it had always been directed at a single person. Why, then, was he now feeling the sa pull toward two? Was it because they looked alike? Amarok knew that wasn’t it. The twins might share the sa striking features, the sa captivating eyes, but it wasn’t their physical resemblance that drew him in.

His thoughts were a tangled ss, and he didn’t know how to untangle them. He wanted them both, desperately. But such a thing was impossible. The twins were royalty, and he was just a servant. What right did he have to desire them, let alone both of them?

He sighed and tried to push the thoughts away, tried to focus on anything else, but no matter how much he tried to focus, tried to suppress his feelings, they kept resurfacing, stronger each ti.

His heart ached with the longing he couldn’t express, the desire he had to keep hidden. And yet, there was a part of him that wished, foolishly, perhaps, that sohow, in so way, he could have them both.

He closed his eyes, trying to banish the thought, but it lingered, stubborn and unrelenting. The idea of being with both of them, of sharing in their lives, their love, it was a dream he knew would never co true. And yet, he couldn’t help but dream it.

"I’m a fool," he whispered to the empty room, his voice thick with emotion. "A fool for wanting what I can’t have."

He rolled over, burying his face in his pillow, trying to block out the thoughts that plagued him. But sleep wouldn’t co, and he found himself replaying every interaction in his mind, every flirtation, every touch.

The next morning, as he prepared the twins’ bath once again, Julian caught him off guard. The prince had entered the chamber silently, his footsteps masked by the sound of running water. Before Amarok could react, Julian was behind him, close enough that he could feel the warmth of the prince’s breath on his neck.

"Amarok," Julian’s voice was soft, teasing, but there was an edge to it that sent a shiver down Amarok’s spine. "You’ve been working so hard. Don’t you ever think about taking a break?"

Amarok’s hands trembled as he tried to focus on his task, his mind racing. He couldn’t look at Julian, couldn’t let him see the turmoil in his eyes. "I’m here to serve you, Your Highness," he managed to say, though his voice was strained. "That is my duty."

Julian chuckled, the sound low and rich, and Amarok felt a hand on his shoulder, the touch light but firm. "Is that all you want to be? Just a servant?"

Amarok’s breath caught in his throat. The question hung in the air, laden with aning, and he didn’t know how to respond. The lines between duty and desire were blurring, and he was terrified of crossing them. He was falling into a trap, one set by his own heart, and he didn’t know how to escape.

"I... I don’t know what you an, Your Highness," Amarok stamred, his voice barely above a whisper.

Julian’s grip tightened slightly, his fingers digging into Amarok’s shoulder as he leaned in closer. "I think you do," Julian murmured, his lips brushing against Amarok’s ear. "I think you know exactly what I an."
