Chapter 123: What my mother-in-law started

As soon as Norman was inford about Alora’s and Magnus’s arrival, he left the breakfast in the middle. "I should see them," Norman said, informing his wife.

"I’ll accompany Father," said Elliot as he also left breakfast in the middle.

Rhea told Norman to be gentle with Alora. "Last ti she was too upset with you. But I know her. She won’t refuse to help you," she asserted, keeping her trust in Alora.

Norman humd as he sipped water before leaving with Elliot for the palace.

As Rhea watched her husband and son leave, she prayed internally to turn everything right.

"Do you think we would have seen this day if Alora wasn’t with us?" Madam Aubrey bitterly asked as she left the spoon on the silver plate before her. Rhea turned to glance at her because she again started finding faults in Alora.

"Mother, why don’t you understand that Alora was never a problem in this house? We heard no complaints from her side after she married the royal family. Venus foolishly dragged Alora into all this and the consequences are in front of us," said Rhea, telling her mother-in-law not to bla Alora always.

"Your tongue also beca sharp after Venus got imprisoned. It seems you never cared about your second daughter. What she beca today was because you always neglected her!" Madam Aubrey remarked harshly. She left the dinner table in anger while mumbling sothing in her mouth.

"My Lady, don’t take Madam’s words to your heart. She had turned old and turned even bitter," said Rhea’s attendant.

"Wrong, Mrya. Mother was always like this. I should have taken action when she started filling Venus’s mind with negative things. I need to correct what my mother-in-law started. However, I’m scared that Venus will understand

if I get to et her," Rhea said while expressing her concern with furrowed brows.

"Madam Aubrey never liked you in general, My Lady," Myra said. She had been by Rhea’s side for over thirty years. She always saw how Aubrey tried to turn Norman against Rhea. It began the mont, they both married after falling in love with each other. However, Rhea always tried to be a filial daughter-in-law and ignored everything.

"Sigh. I cannot change what has happened in the past. But I’ll not let my daughters’ futures be affected anymore," Rhea said with a determined tone.

Norman and Elliot exited the carriage when they were asked to wait. After ten minutes of waiting, Tobias ca to them and told them Magnus had refused anyone’s visit for the day.

"I’m here to apologize to my daughter," Norman said humbly.

Tobias found it amusing as he knew Norman wasn’t there to see Alora but to regain his lost position and save his daughter from the punishnt.

"Pardon , Norman. However, Prince Magnus is recuperating after getting injured during his return," Tobias explained to him, exposing the reason why Magnus didn’t wish to see Norman.

"Prince Magnus got injured!?" Elliot looked surprised. "Why don’t you let us et Alora? She must want her family to be by her side at this ti," he said cleverly.

Tobias looked at him this ti. "Forgive , but they both aren’t entertaining any guests today. As far as I rember, Princess Alora is no longer associated with any of you, except for her mother. Now, please excuse , since I have a lot of work to finish," he politely said and turned to walk away.

"Please, Tobias. Alora’s mother also wishes to see her. Let

see her only once. I won’t take more than ten minutes of her," Tobias requested. He was helpless for the first ti.

Tobias didn’t say anything and left their sight.

"He ignored us, Father," Elliot said in a slight anger. "I think Prince Magnus hasn’t forgiven you and what Sister Venus did, he will never forgive her either," he remarked.

Lillian, who happened to hear the entire conversation, smirked and decided to approach them. As Norman and Elliot made their way outside to leave, a voice echoed in their ears, making the two of them halt.

Turning around, they found an elegant woman standing in front of them. "Your Highness Princess Lillian," Norman imdiately bowed to her while his son followed his suit.

Lillian smiled and said, "You two look desperate to see my brother."

They raised their heads while Norman’s gaze was lowered, Elliot looked into her eyes.

"Eh... Yes, Your Highness. However, we got to learn that Prince Magnus got injured on his way here. I hope he is well," Norman said, expressing his concern.

"Your dear daughter caused the injury to my dear brother," Lillian comnted, bringing confused expressions to their faces. She gazed at Elliot, who seed to stare at her for a minute. "Keep your eyes down," she firmly said while smiling.

Elliot did that promptly, apologizing to her.

"Follow . I’ll take you to my brother’s chamber," Lillian said and turned around. The grin widened across her lips since Alora would get a surprise visit from the people, she didn’t wish to see.

Norman and Elliot readily followed the princess. Finally, they were outside the chamber, where Magnus and Alora were present.

The servants gave her a way in. Norman thanked his stars today for being on his side. They stopped in the drawing room when Lillian told the two of them to take seats on the sofa. Selvina was slightly worried to see them.

"Your Highness, they weren’t supposed to be here," Selvina said.

"Call my brother and sister-in-law," Lillian commander her while sitting on the sofa chair.

Magnus, who already realized the presence of two humans, heard the door being knocked. Alora, who was engrossed in writing her journal, told Selvina to co in.

The door opened and Selvina inford them about the visit of Norman and his son.

Alora was confused and pondered why would they even co to see her. Magnus ordered Selvina to leave and got down from the bed.

"They must be here to beg," Magnus muttered with annoyance, "Lillian, I’m going to kill you." His jaw tightened and he clenched his fists.
