Chapter 803: Chapter 745 Helping the Police
As a result, the leads that police got started surfacing everywhere.
"Mr. Gibson."
To their utmost dismay, when the police ca to the hospital, they found out that lissa was still in a coma. Listening to that, they shook their heads regretfully.
" "Everything will be alright soon."
One of the mbers of the investigating team tried to give strength to Murray in that difficult ti. But even after listening to those words of motivation, Murray didn’t get up, he just sat there, looking at - lissa, his wife lying there unconsciously.
"According to the information we had received from you last night, we have found so traces of Jacky Knight. But for obvious reasons we still lack so strong evidence of his presence here. In order to get them, we need your assistance. Hope you will cooperate with us."
The policeman explained the whole situation to Murray and tried to reassure him that the investigating team working on lissa’s case was one of the most capable and reliable teams in the country.
"I beg to differ with you this ti."Almost without thinking, those harsh and stern words ca out of Murray’s mouth and he turned down the request of assistance to the police instantly. Almost twice he was so near to losing lissa and this ti he couldn’t afford to repeat his mistake of leaving her alone.
"Not by any freaking chance, I am going to leave her alone now." He whispered that to himself.
The police officer shook his head disappointingly as it wasn’t the ti to be emotional but to act hurriedly and smartly. But after seeing lissa’s condition, they found Murray’s act completely reasonable.
After all, lissa is his wife and no sane person can leave their wife alone in that sensitive condition, rest alone, him.
"We understand and respect your decision. Wishing a sooner recovery to Ms. lissa."
The policeman mumbled and nodded, then they looked at the unconscious lissa, and left quietly.
Early in the morning, lissa finally got her consciousness back.
She looked at the familiar ceiling, blinked her eyes twice in reassurance but deep inside she was feeling empty. Like sothing was missing inside her. She frowned at that strange feeling.
"lissa."
Murray called her na when he felt lissa’s body squirming and moving away from him. He rubbed his eyes while sitting up, and then found that lissa woke up.
"You’re awake." Murray let out a sigh of relief. That ti he realized that the face before him was tired yet smooth and it was deeply furrowed. Without a delay he leaned in, held his breath so as not to let his tears out in front of him.
He went close to her, inhaled her scent and took lissa in his arms, "Promise
that you will take good care of yourself now."
lissa stacked everything in her head, still the intent hearing continued. Murray was constantly caressing her back. His heavy throat was undeniably giving her the idea of events that had happened with her.
"It seems like I had fainted this ti also." lissa thought and stumbled in her own world.
At that mont Murray tightened his hold around her like his whole world was dependent on that mont. anwhile lissa was filled with an air of comfort and triumph, "He was here when I needed him." a voice ca from the back of her mind.
"I’m fine."
lissa finally spoke, then smiled softly and patted Murray on the shoulder.
"That’s good to hear," Murray mumbled and a smile ca to his face after seeing that curve adorned her lips just as easily as breath ca to him.
"It seems like you are very tired." lissa shook her head after seeing Murray’s disheveled condition and then suddenly she rembered what happened that day.
"Have you caught him?" She keenly waited for his reply.
Listening to her, Murray instantly understood the context of her question. A hint of disappointnt was visible in his eyes and then he said in a slow tone,
"He ran very fast, and he was well prepared. That’s why he escaped and our people were not able to catch him."
lissa nodded her head in disappointnt. As she knew that if Jacky would co again, then he can do anything.
"Don’t worry! A few hours ago when you were sleeping, a police officer inford
that they found so traces but unfortunately they aren’t strong evidence."
Murray told her everything to which lissa raised her eyebrow in anticipation..
"Then do they need any kind of assistance?"
Listening to lissa’s words, Murray rembered how the police officer asked for his help and he refused. But lissa should not know this. He thought so after giving a long thought, he said in a low tone, "No.".
There was an instant change in the body language of Murray and that hesitation in his voice when he didn’t look at him while saying and that was enough for lissa to guess the actual situation.
"You have refused to cooperate, didn’t you?"
Murray was surprised to hear lissa’s words but didn’t react.
anwhile lissa knew that Murray was worried about her and he might not be ready to focus on anything other than her.
She was understanding his dilemma but she had worked really hard in the case regarding Jacky Knight and now she wasn’t ready to let him go so easily and after what he said to her last night then it was kind of impossible for her.
"You know, it’s not about
alone," lissa paused and then continued, "He might have so malicious thoughts regarding the company also, and I will not tolerate if anything will happen to Star Entertainnt." Hearing this, Murray knew he couldn’t stop lissa.
For now he decided to let it go and not to argue as lissa was not in her best health. But when he didn’t say anything, lissa took a deep breath and then without a delay sent a ssage to the police officer and agreed to assist them.
"Do you still want to sleep?"
Murray cleared his throat and tried to break that awkward silence. His eyes were fixed at the moon and the sky outside the window. It was surreal and srizing.
lissa nodded, although she was not sleepy as she woke up a few hours ago , but when she saw how tired Murray was while taking care of her, she decided to agree and laid back on the bed. "By the way, you don’t need to worry about anything. Just take so rest." lissa mumbled.
Although it should be Murray to say those words, lissa took the initiative first. anwhile Murray understood that lissa was trying to make him feel good and undoubtedly he also wanted to drag that drab worry out of her gleaming erald orbs.
"What are you looking at?" She broke the silence and then asked him when she observed his gaze fixed at her," Do you want to say sothing?".
"Nothing except that I can’t stop worrying about you no matter what." He sincerely spoke those words and then he kissed her forehead. Then he leaned to the side and below, not knowing which side, right or left, he cared less and slowly whispered in her ears, "And I can’t help it as I love you so much."
A smile played on her lips when she heard that. Again, his lips lingered at her forehead but this ti for little longer and she closed her eyes subconsciously.
"I love you too," She blushed.
Looking at her crimson red face, Murray had a sense of satisfaction. But he instantly moved away and laughed, " Now don’t think much, close your eyes and sleep."
lissa slowly closed her eyes, the minutes passed, she still wasn’t able to sleep. Then she decided to talk to Murray but the mont she was about to open her eyes, she heard sharp footsteps followed by the doctor’s voice.
"Is Ms. Eugen asleep?"
It was almost midnight and she was wondering what the doctor was doing in their ward at that hour of night.
That’s when Jacky’s words started echoing in her mind. "Why did he say that I am dying? Was he trying to play with my sanity?" She wondered.
Everything was already making her puzzled and now the doctor’s visit was adding more into it.
Out of curiosity, lissa pretended to be asleep and chose not to open her eyes. "Yes, she is." Murray answered him but his eyes were never leaving the sight of his wife. Then he knitted his eyebrows together and turned his face towards the doctor and said in a questioning tone, " She will be alright soon?"
After hearing his words, the doctor cleared his throat with a worried expression, "I can’t promise you anything for now. It’s still hard to say."
The doctor sighed internal energy, and lissa’s heart was a little shocked.
Those words brought a havoc of turmoil in lissa’s heart. She was more than shocked after listening to it.
"Hard to say? What does it an?"
Lots of questions started coming in her mind to which she probably had no answer except the fact that Jacky’s words started making a little sense.
Is it my disease...
"Am I tested with so chronic or life threatening disease.?
lissa was so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t realize that the doctor walked up to her. She closed her eyes but her heart started pounding with the highest speed as she was afraid that they might not discover that she was listening to their conversation.
The next second, the doctor grabbed her arm and started monitoring her vitals, especially her pulse rate.
lissa secretly swallowed a mouthful of saliva. If it was really like what Jacky said then why didn’t Murray ntion that before her and even now also he was willing to hide it from her. "All this ti I was scared of this only. now my fear is turning into reality and I certainly don’t want that.’’ The doctor said while monitoring her pulse.
"What do you an?" Murray furrowned.
"From the pulse, Her pulse is dropping. This indicates that Mrs. Gibson is weaker than before, I’m afraid that sothing worse will happen to her if she won’t take a good amount of rest."
Hearing this, lissa started to break down a bit.
"No wonder I have started fainting more frequently these days. Initially I thought it was because of overworking and for the reason that I am not resting properly. But it turned out that I was seriously ill."
"How can it be better?"
"There might be so way. Any special treatnt or dicine or anything that can help her to recover. Just tell
I can arrange anything for her. Just na it."
Murray choked up on his words, he couldn’t believe that soone like lissa who is always ready for any battle is losing the battle of her life. " From the initial stage of treatnt, it should have been taken care of. In the past year, when the treatnt was started you must have not ignored the instructions and should have paid attention to the food and rest. In addition, it was your responsibility Mr. Murrayto see whether your wife was eating well or not."
Judging from the pulse just now, the doctor realized that lissa had not taken her dicine properly these days.
" If she would have taken her dicine on ti then things would not be as bad as they are now." Doctor added further.
Murray looked puzzled at his words but then he figured out that lissa was unconscious for the past few days so she wasn’t taking her original dicine, maybe that’s the aning behind the doctor’s words. He hunched his shoulders.
"Luckily she is in hospital right now and getting the required treatnt otherwise her body has already given up on her long back." Doctor inford him.
Murray thought he knew everything but what he didn’t know was that lissa wasn’t taking her dicines.
She thought that her illness was not a serious problem and everything was happening due to overworking and taking so many dicines everyday, was such a hard task for her. .
Every ti Murray didn’t notice her, she used to throw pills away.
"In short you must keep one thing in your mind that Mrs. Gibson’s body is weak and now she can’t tolerate any excursions. If she will faint again and again, it will have a bad impact on her and one more miscarriagae will probably kill her."
Hearing this, lissa began to stir a little.
It was because of the miscarriage that she started that treatnt and now due to reoccuring of these health issues, now she was getting tortured by it again.
"Now even her life is in danger."
Thinking of this, lissa’s heart trembled.
lissa can’t help but feel a pang of heartache at the thought of her unborn child.
"Well, I’ll take good care of her."
Murray nodded and agreed.
Soon, the doctor did a full health examination of lissa and told the nurses that the dressings of her wounds should be tily changed to avoid any infection.
Suddenly, only lissa and Murray were left in the room.
lissa’s breathing was heavy, and the doctor’s words kept echoing in her head.
Perhaps due to physical and ntal exhaustion, lissa soon felt sleepy and fell into a deep sleep...
