"Really?" lissa asked. It was clear that Adela had deliberately set a trap to accuse her of stealing things. lissa smirked inwardly. How many tricks Adela would play? She thought and raked Adela disdainfully.
"What is going on?" Archer knitted his brows. In fact, he did not believe that Murray’s fiancée would steal things, but his granddaughter confird it with certainty. There were even witnesses revealing lissa’s theft. In consequence, Archer had to believe it.
"I guess it is so... when Adela showed us her diamond ring, lissa happen to pass by. lissa seed to like this diamond ring very much and looked at it for a long ti." Julie took a step forward and explained seriously.
lissa was speechless. When did she like this diamond ring? And looking at it for a long ti?
Julie continued saying, "Then we went dancing. Adela took off the diamond ring and put it in the handbag. But after we ca back, the diamond ring disappeared."
"Yes. Later, we found this waitress in the banquet hall. She said she saw soone take my diamond ring, and this person is lissa!" Adela supplented more ‘truth’, her excitent inside nearly busting out.
Adela had set up this flawless plot. lissa must have no idea to cope with. At that ti, lissa would beco a street rat that everyone could beat. How could Murray marry such a thief?
As long as Murray and lissa the country bumpkin, canceled their engagent, wouldn’t the position of Young Madam of the Gibson family belong to Adela?
Seeing Adela and Julie’s trick, lissa sneered and squinted at the waitress with sharp eyes. "Did you really see
take Adela’s diamond ring?"
The waitress lowered her head. She did not dare to look into lissa’s eyes. She nodded and murmured softly, "Yes, I witnessed it with my own eyes."
"There’s no need to be afraid. Tell
the truth!" Julie eyed the waiter.
The waiter fidgeted nervously, "I went to the bathroom just now and saw Ms. Eugen wearing the diamond ring on her hand. When she saw , she hurriedly hid the diamond ring in her handbag."
"lissa, return the diamond ring to Adela! You disgraced the entire Gibson family!" At so point in ti, Sarah walked over with Claire.
"Sarah, don’t be angry. What does this have to do with the Gibson family?" Claire comforted quickly. "This rural woman has nothing to do with our Gibson family. Murray won’t marry a thief."
Claire glared at lissa fiercely. Her words made everyone believe that lissa had stolen Adela’s diamond ring.
So of the guests were discussing in a lower voice, pointing at lissa.
lissa took a fleeting look at them, with lips curling into a sneer. This was getting more and more interesting.
"In that case, Ms. Eugen, please return it to
after everything is over." Archer’s face was pale. He didn’t expect this kind of thing would happen at his birthday banquet, and the one who stole things was Murray’s so-called fiancée.
Running out of patience, lissa was reluctant to explain more. She simply spat back. "I didn’t steal it."
"Whether you took it or not, open your handbag, and we will know!" Adela thought lissa was about to escape. She stepped forward and stopped lissa.
Security guards in corners saw Archer wave his hands. They imdiately went straight to lissa, surrounding her without a crack left.
Seeing this, lissa frowned subconsciously. It seed that if she didn’t settle this matter today, she wouldn’t be able to leave.
After figuring out her dilemma, lissa handed the handbag to Adela.
"Ridiculous! You want to see it so badly. You can unzip it now."
Adela took over lissa’s handbag, and her eyes flashed with a hint of success. lissa saw it.
Adela handed the handbag to a security guard. "Open it and check."
The security guard took the handbag. Gulping, he did not dare to ignore any details and carefully zipped off the bag.
The next second, soone bood out, "It is her!"
Adela’s dazzling diamond ring was exactly in lissa’s handbag!
