Chapter 545: Chapter 487 You Were Almost Hurt Because of

"Do you like Murray?" Detrius asked. He didn’t know who Adela was, but as long as she liked Murray, she would help

from the heart.

Adela nodded and put her hands on her forearms. "Yes, I like him, and I know lissa. Therefore, I think I can help you get her. That way, we’ll both get what we want."

"Alright!" Detrius answered without hesitation. He took out his phone and exchanged his contact with Adela.

After Detrius left, Adela grinned, revealing a line of white teeth. After checking on Detrius’ phone number a bit, she put away the phone with satisfaction.

What a stroke of luck!

After getting back ho, Adela looked around a bit. Noticing that Declan had not returned yet, she then sat on the sofa and waited for him.

Declan didn’t co back until forty minutes later. It was almost 9 o’clock when he returned. Declan was back this late because of a business dinner. He had to represent his company today to attend that. And that was also why when he ca back, his suit slt of smoke and alcohol.

"Adela, didn’t you go out today?"

It seed like Declan was used to Adela not being at ho. Therefore, when he saw Adela, he was slightly surprised.

"No, I’m still tired from shopping yesterday. It was exhausting." Adela replied lazily and even knocked on her shoulders a bit. "Declan, you sll horrible. Why don’t you take a shower first?"

"Do I?" Declan raised his arm and sniffed at his suit a bit. Sure enough, he slled of smoke. "Yes, I stink. They drank and smoked a lot tonight. I’m going to take a shower now. If there’s a phone call, help

answer it."

Adela nodded. A while later, after Declan placed his phone on the table and returned to his bedroom, Adela checked on Declan a bit. Noticing that Declan had closed the door of his bedroom, Adela hurried to take his phone and flipped through his contacts. Soon, she found lissa.

Adela pursed her lips and sent a ssage to her, "Ms. Eugen, are you available tomorrow afternoon? Can we et in Room 302 of the Crane Hotel at four? I want to talk to you about the details of our cooperation."

lissa was watching a TV series when she heard her phone buzz. She then took her phone and looked at the incoming ssage. It was from Declan. She found it strange that they would et in a hotel. But despite that, she replied, "Alright."

Seeing that lissa had replied, Adela smiled wickedly.

I’ve done my part to help. Detrius, you’re on your own now.

After lissa put down her phone, she had a gut feeling that sothing was wrong. Noticing that, Murray, who had just co out of the study and sat beside her, asked with concern, "What’s the matter?"

"Declan asked

to et him in a hotel room tomorrow. He said he wanted to talk about cooperation." lissa showed him the ssage.

Murray frowned upon hearing this. He knew about Declan and had t him before. Although he spoiled Adela a lot, it felt not like him to set up a eting in a hotel room.

He glanced at lissa, "What are you going to do?"

"Play by ear." lissa shook her head, deciding to be careful.

The next afternoon, lissa got to the hotel on ti. The mont she knocked on the door, the sound of footsteps ca from inside the room. Soon, the door opened, and then Detrius appeared with a big smile.

"Detrius?"

lissa, perplexed and yet alert, took a step back subconsciously. "Why are you here?"

It was strange.

Detrius halted for a mont and asked, "Shouldn’t I be here?" But soon he thought of what Adela told him. "I ca to find you. As for Declan, he said that he needed to go out and make a call. But since you are here, drink so water while waiting."

As he spoke, he walked inside the room and brought over a glass of water that had been put on a table. Adela had co over just now and told him to give lissa the glass of water that Adela had prepared.

Detrius did as he was told.

"Alright." lissa, suspicious, sat on the edge of the bed. And after Detrius brought the water over, she sniffed it before sipping a little. It turned out that this glass of water tasted sweet and cloying.

With her face darkening, lissa held the glass in her hand and turned around to look at Detrius solemnly. "Why did you do this?"

Detrius noticed that lissa hadn’t drunk the water at all. Also, lissa’s question sounded weird. Detrius then asked, perplexed, "What’s the matter? I give you a glass of water. That’s all."

lissa paused and started to study Detrius’ eyes. It seed like Detrius didn’t know what had happened.

Therefore, she let out a sigh, thinking, it seed that both Detrius and I had been set up. As for by whom? It cannot be more obvious.

"Sothing is wrong with this water." lissa put the glass on the table and pushed it toward Detrius. "Soone has drugged it."

"What?"

Detrius looked at the glass in disbelief, his eyes full of surprise.

lissa nodded in earnest and asked, "Can you tell

who poured this water into the glass? Since you just ca to Arica and only know

and Murray, I don’t think you will do things like that."

Detrius halted before telling lissa about everything, including how he t Adela outside Star Entertainnt and how Adela instructed him to co here to et lissa. lissa’s expression turned strange while she was listening.

That was so Adela! She would never change! Only she would do things like this.

"She had deceived you. This woman wanted Murray so much that she hated my guts. It should be a coincidence that you t her, but..." lissa looked down at the glass in front of her and laughed. "This is not a coincidence. She prepared this water for

on purpose."

Then lissa told Detrius briefly about what had happened between Adela and her, "This woman is called Adela. She is the sister of a business partner of mine. You’d better stay away from her."

Only then did Detrius understand what Adela was doing. And then he revealed a look of disdain right away. Detrius was actually very young. Just like Michelle, he had just graduated from college. Therefore, it was only natural that he did not know people would actually do things like that.

Although he liked lissa, he would never act so despicably just to get her.

"I see!" Detrius looked at lissa, his eyes full of righteous indignation, which made lissa laugh a bit. Detrius then said, "I thought she wanted to help . lissa, I’m really sorry. You were almost hurt because of ."
