Chapter 102: Chapter 97: Profession Analysis: The Sealed [Saint]
He subconsciously reached out, pulling a Potion from his Storage Space and giving it a quick look.
"I have ten doses of each type left. I’ve used most of them. This definitely won’t last until the Judicial Court’s assessnt begins."
Luckily, there was no Gravity Chamber on the ship, so his training was less effective. This also slowed his body’s absorption of the Potions; otherwise, he would have run out long ago.
He entered the Gravity Chamber and didn’t stop until the early hours of the morning.
He had arrived in Ying Feng today and hadn’t stopped for a mont, training for half the night. His mind felt a bit weary.
Lying in bed, Su Chen rested for a while. As a ntal Professional, he only needed a small amount of sleep.
The next day, around seven or eight o’clock, Su Chen woke up full of energy. He opened his Wristband and saw he had quite a few ssages.
They were from yesterday when he’d added Zhang Hengyu and the others as contacts, using Yang Yan as a channel with so help from Gu Bing.
Zhang Hengyu had sent him a ssage inviting him to dinner tonight. Du Yu had also ssaged him, giving a brief rundown of the situation.
After he left with Yang Yan yesterday, the others had all found good places to stay. Since they all ca from Southwind, it was natural for them to stick together.
Now that they were settled in, they were calling for a get-together.
Su Chen thought for a mont and didn’t refuse. He replied to both of them, saying he would be there tonight.
After quickly washing up, Su Chen left the hotel full of excitent.
The sky was clear and the sun was shining brightly. Su Chen couldn’t help but glance at the giant "sun" in the east, its dazzling light making him squint.
’I’ve really missed this kind of sunlight...’ After basking in it for a mont, Su Chen felt comfortable all over.
If nothing else, at least he wouldn’t have to see Southwind’s gloomy, underworld-like filter every day.
The Translation Departnt looked close from here, but that was only if you took a Hovercar.
’I’d better call a car...’ he muttered. The hotel offered such a service; a half-hour ride would only cost fifty gold.
After waiting a mont, a Hovercar descended.
"To the Translation Departnt, huh?" The driver was very talkative and started chatting with Su Chen as soon as he got in. "This is the first ti I’ve ever gotten a fare to that place."
"Yes, thank you," Su Chen replied simply.
"You’re not from Ying Feng, are you?" The driver glanced at him in the rearview mirror, slightly surprised.
"How can you tell?" Su Chen was a little surprised.
"Your accent..." The driver grinned, getting animated. "Even though we all speak pretty much the sa language, regional factors always lead to slight differences."
"You have to listen closely, though. I’ve just heard so many that my ears have gotten used to it."
"It seems like it’s almost ti for the major organizations in Ying Feng to start recruiting, but... you’re a little early."
"I’m here on so business..." Su Chen replied with a smile. Watching the traffic around them, he asked on a whim, "Are there any requirents to drive a Hovercar?"
"You don’t know?" The driver was surprised. He answered casually, "You just have to take up the ordinary Driver Profession, then get certified at the association."
"Ordinary Driver? A Profession?" Su Chen’s interest was piqued.
"It’s a special Profession..." The driver was also getting into the conversation. "An ordinary Driver can only operate Hovercars. To drive a hovertrain, you need to advance to Senior Driver, and for a starship, you need to be a Special Level Driver..."
’It seems like Southwind doesn’t have these kinds of requirents...’ Su Chen couldn’t help but think. "You need a Profession just to drive?"
"You can drive without the Profession, but you can’t carry passengers, only drive for yourself," the driver explained. "The ordinary Driver Profession gives you an ability that makes you more focused and gives you faster reaction tis while driving."
"I heard that Senior Drivers can even grant so kind of buff to the vehicle itself."
Su Chen understood. There were Professions for all trades and industries, but that didn’t an you had to have the Profession to work in that field.
Take cooks, for instance. All they do is cook food, but the Profession provides all sorts of special bonuses.
Su Chen asked, "So, are the requirents difficult?"
"For an ordinary Driver, there are no requirents, you just have to..." The driver was about to blurt it out with a wide grin when a flash of vigilance crossed his eyes. "Hey, buddy, isn’t this entrapnt a bit much? You guys from the Profession Inspection Office are stooping to new lows."
"Uh..." Su Chen opened his mouth, then fell silent.
The driver, seemingly feeling deceived, stopped talking. He just kept muttering sothing like, "The Inspection Office is so damn shaless..."
Arriving at the Translation Departnt, this ti Su Chen only needed to state his identification code to pass through unimpeded.
"Just as I thought, a governnt man," the driver muttered from a distance, watching Su Chen enter the building. He let out a cold snort.
...
"You ca today."
Sang Hanhai saw Su Chen walk in and put down the tal instrunt in his hand. The surrounding staff mbers all looked over.
There were clearly more staff mbers here during the day. So of them didn’t recognize Su Chen and looked at him with curiosity.
After asking their colleagues who were on duty last night and learning the general situation, they were quite surprised.
"Well, I wanted to help you decipher it as soon as possible, didn’t I?" Su Chen’s eyes darted around the room.
Sang Hanhai chuckled. "You smooth-talking kid. You just want to help
decipher it quickly so you can get a new Profession, right?"
"You see right through , Sir," Su Chen admitted frankly.
"What are you looking for? The Holy Word Stone is up there." Seeing Su Chen’s head swiveling as he looked left and right around the lab, Sang Hanhai pointed to the apparatus in the center of the room.
"I was looking to see if there were any other Holy Word Stones." Su Chen didn’t try to hide it, saying bluntly, "I thought you’d have Holy Word Stones lying all over the place here."
"Haha..." Sang Hanhai laughed twice and shook his head. "How could there be so many Holy Word Stones? When the Translation Departnt was first established, it was a lot like what you’re imagining."
"But nowadays, fewer and fewer ruins are being discovered, let alone Holy Word Stones. Besides, I study the rarer His Language, which makes them even more scarce."
