Chapter 689: Chapter 689: Collapsing Star

A distant corner of the Known Universe, billions of light-years away from all the conflict that involved the lions or the dragons.

A heavenly gate appeared next to a massive unstable white star. Compared to the vastness of space and the massive celestial bodies surrounding it, this heavenly gate was remarkably small.

Empress Elizabeth stepped out of the heavenly gate, floating casually with a smirk on her face.

The Dragon Empress had spent a few months searching for this place.

She had expected that the war would make it unsafe for her to attempt her breakthrough in any random place.

And the place where she attempted this breakthrough was important.

It wasn’t like the other mortal stages of power where she could literally eat her way to strength.

For the immortal tier, she had to expose her mortal body to the most extre of extre environnts, allowing her body and soul to adapt in the process of embodying her Law of Destruction.

If it were anywhere close to the war, she didn’t doubt that she would be found. Especially with all those Annihilations going on, the lions and dragons would be desperate to do sothing to her.

Elizabeth wasn’t scared, she was excited.

The first and second Annihilation had raked in so many quality Destruction Essence and had elevated her perception of what it ant to destroy.

Who knew that using reversed Conquering Essence could push her to a state of enlightennt so soon?

That was why she had to co here so early.

She felt that if she could make use of this opportunity properly, she might actually evolve successfully.

But first...

Floating in the empty void, Elizabeth’s glowing purple eyes looked around.

She saw the few arkships that had been placed at the edges of the star system. There were more than a hundred heavily modified arkships with powerful defenses and space distortion engines built into them.

These arkships were placed here a year ago in anticipation of a mont like this.

This way, warp signals would not be able to detect any activities coming from this place, and if peradventure sothing ca here, it wouldn’t matter.

No one could warp their way into this place with so many distortion engines active at the sa ti.

Or could they...

Perhaps, Elizabeth may underestimate just how determined and furious her enemies were.

But did it matter?

She was here now. Her purple eyes scanned her environnt and she confird that everything was secured.

Then, she looked at the massive unstable star that was at the center of this star system.

White and pulsing with the might to destroy worlds, it appealed to Elizabeth.

Wasn’t she supposed to expose herself to the most extre situations? For a Primordial of Destruction, there was nothing more extre than bathing in the power of a collapsing star.

This star was the most destructive entity within the surrounding millions of light-years.

It was perfect for her.

A purple haze of destruction essence surrounded her body, cladding her in a mighty power capable of shaking worlds.

She turned into a purple beam of light, rushing toward the star.

It was set to collapse in the next few minutes and Elizabeth wanted to be as close as she could. When the radiation and turbulent energy rushed out, she wanted to receive it and let it wash over her body.

Her speed was incredible but it looked like a snail’s pace when compared to the massive star.

Things were going well, she could already feel the unbearable heat that made her smile maniacally, she could feel immortality at her fingertips.

However, things were destined to go as planned for Elizabeth from now on.

The opportunity that the All-King had been waiting for had finally presented itself to him the mont Elizabeth left the safety of the Draconic Heaven.

Suddenly, Elizabeth stopped, a serious frown masking her face.

What was this? She wondered to herself.

A flicker of a foreign object, a substance that was not under her control. She sensed its presence within her body.

Just then, she saw a golden flash, further deepening her confusion.

She was very familiar with that shade of gold. That was the gold that ca about from the Conquering Essence.

She had been dabbling with reversed Conquering Essence all this ti so that her dragons could use it in their dragon breath, so she was very familiar with it.

However, the reversed Conquering Essence was a subordinate to her Destruction Essence. She was supposed to be able to control it easily.

She should not be seeing any golden flashes unless that was what she wanted.

What was this? She wondered to herself again.

Then it appeared once again, and again, and again.

Panicking, Elizabeth’s spirit sense surged out of her body as she observed herself from a third-person perspective.

That was when she saw it, her eyes were constantly flashing between gold and purple, like two signal beacons that were sending out her location.

Now that it was showing itself properly, Elizabeth could sense that this gold flash was not coming from the reversed Conquering Essence.

Rather, it was coming from a different type of Conquering Essence, one that had a completely different source.

’No...’ Elizabeth’s mind went blank as a possibility appeared in her train of thought.

Only two sources of Conquering Essence were currently in existence.

President Musty and the All-King.

She was beginning to feel it, the heaviness, the rage of a tyrant, the fury of a Conqueror.

How? She thought. How could it be?

There was no point asking though. Elizabeth imdiately activated the Destruction Essence within her body, an attempt to purge her system of the foreign Conquering Essence.

But it was already too late.

The sound of reality shattering reached her ears, sothing that should normally be considered impossible since she was in the vacuum of space.

The arkships far away were screaming in protest l, their engines working overti to maintain the distortion field, but how could they?

Visible cracks began appearing in the void.

Each crack spans multiple star systems and is laced with the golden light of the kings.

Furious roars reached Elizabeth’s ears sohow, filling her heart for the first ti with fear.

They were coming for her.

The kings.
