Chapter 577: Chapter 577: The Delay

By the ti Kael’s consorts were ready for the trial to begin, mphis had finished a session with Burdo and Wei.

Burdo had asked if he could also participate in it. He was already lagging behind at the mont.

Although, as the first lion prince of the Ol-mytee clan, he had admin-like privileges over the lion system like the other princes.

He had access to a lot of wealth and resources that he could use to enhance his strength and he was doing just that.

Alas, resources could still not make up for ti and talent.

So many bad things were happening all at once.

Kael’s enemies were showing up from different angles. If he didn’t increase his strength and his ability to defend himself, he might die.

He was sure that Kael would not even glance his way to save his life. So he had to look out for himself.

For a while, he had been at the sa tier 4 power level.

For any other lion, Burdo would be considered incredibly talented. But for these chaotic tis, it wasn’t enough at all.

Especially in these chaotic tis.

In peaceful tis, it wouldn’t be a problem if he just waited out as his strength grew.

Maybe in a thousand years or more, he would be tier 6 or approaching that sa level.

A thousand years? Burdo wasn’t confident that the enemies of the lions would give them another thousand years of peace.

Even if they did, the All-King had no intention of reigning in peace.

Now that he saw an opportunity to make his daughter stronger, why not jump on the boat and tag along?

At first, mphis did not agree.

It wasn’t that she couldn’t handle it all, but it was starting to feel like she was being taken advantage of.

If others hear that she helps Burdo and Wei, they would all co over with their own friends and relatives in hopes that she would help them.

mphis didn’t mind refusing to help all of them, but it would be troubleso to suddenly have millions of lions and lionesses visiting her continent.

mphis is a major introvert who didn’t see the need to go out unless necessary. She valued her seclusion more than anything else.

The calmness and serenity that was brought about by the absence of individuals who only wanted help or small talk was irreplaceable.

If only she could stay close to Kael who was capable of commanding privacy whenever he wanted.

mphis ended up helping Burdo out after he begged. Not because she was a softie, but because she found reason in Burdo’s excuses and explanations.

It was indeed bad if he remained at tier 4 for a long ti.

Trouble was coming and the Prince would need sufficient power not just to defend himself, but to be able to aid the All-King.

So, while mphis placed Burdo and Wei under the effects of a shared ti bubble, she contemplated so things that had been going through her mind for so ti.

She had a guess of the kind of trial she wanted to give the lionesses.

A funny thought had appeared in her mind.

What if she participated and got a spot? Accidentally, of course.

Technically, Kael would have to get a ti lioness at so point if he wanted to complete his vision for his consort dynamics.

And everyone knew that Ti Lions and Lionesses were rare.

mphis was literally the strongest Ti Lioness the lion race had. She would instantly crush all competition if she actually participated.

That was if.

mphis played with the thoughts but never decided to act on them.

Besides, participating ant more than just winning or scoring a few points, it also ant entering a worthy relationship with the All-King.

mphis still saw Kael as a junior, but it didn’t stop her from playing around with the thought in her head.

, Today, Kael was to announce the beginning of the Consort Trial.

Wei and Burdo stood side by side.

Wei was now in her humanoid form. She was a fully grown adult right now.

Wei had srizing blue skin and deep green eyes that held mystery and impatience within.

On the surface, she looked calm, but internally, she was ready to see what her current tier 4 power level could do.

She was tall, as tall as her father, more than six feet tall. Her black curly hair flowed down to her waist, covering her blue-skinned back.

"I doubt if tier 4 is enough to make waves in this coming activity," mphis said honestly as she looked sowhere else.

Now that she had helped these two, she expected them to repay the favor later in the future.

Right now, she also wanted to visit the Massive Black Pyramid to see Kael and Ozia.

Burdo noticed that mphis was suddenly dismissive of their existence now that she had helped them but he didn’t mind.

Although he had not been able to break through, he was approaching the limit before the next stage.

Once he paired his gains with the resources he had, he should be able to actualize his vision of tier 5.

"I’m sure she’ll manage, won’t you, Wei?" Burdo asked Wei beside him.

"I’ll try," She said.

All the ti she spent in the bubble, the only person she had to accompany her was her father.

Burdo constantly reminded her of the reason she was doing all this and making all these sacrifices.

When her mates were playing around, she was crushing her spirit and heart under the influence of a ti baptism.

If it was all for Kael, it was all for the All-King.

She had been brainwashed by Burdo unintentionally. It was so bad to the extent that Wei had already confird in her heart that she would commit suicide if she couldn’t pass the consort trial.

Her whole life and ntality now revolved around being Kael’s consort. Any other fate besides that was a deviation from her life purpose.

Wei put a smile on her beautiful blue face. She was brainwashed, not crazy.

"Thank you, Miss mphis," Wei bowed in mphis’s direction. She didn’t know what title to address mphis with so she put a simple ’Miss’.

mphis simply waved her hand away.

"Miss mphis, will you be participating in the trial? I doubt anyone will be able to stand against you," Wei said at this ti.

It was sothing she said just to start a conversation with this ancient lioness.

mphis chuckled, surprisingly not taking offense.

"What makes you think I’m interested in becoming a consort?" mphis asked without turning back.

She flicked her fingers and a bean-sized object flew out of her sleeves. It was the ti machine that she was currently using as a ans of transportation.

Wei and Burdo paused to see the little black speck grow until it was almost the size of a real magic shuttle.

"You should," Wei said honestly, "That’s what any lioness should want right?"

mphis shook her head, "Ordinary lionesses maybe," She said.

"What more could any lioness want?" Wei muttered. She couldn’t imagine a life where she wasn’t trying to be Kael’s consort.

The imagination itself felt so disgusting to her.

"I don’t know, I’m too old for this stuff anyway," mphis raised her feet and stepped on the hover stairs that ca out of the ti machine shuttle.

"How old are you?" Wei asked. Such a blatant question was a result of zero interaction with any other person in the last few years.

She couldn’t pick up the signal that mphis was already done with this conversation.

"Older than you think, good luck on the trial," mphis said and entered the ti shuttle.

The door slid closed behind her and the ti shuttle began to hover off the ground.

"Try not to ask people their ages anymore, okay?" Burdo asked.

Wei nodded.

They both walked back to the magic shirt they had co with, seeking to head back to the Massive Black Pyramid to prepare for the announcent on what the trial will be.

"Father, do you think it has started? There’s no notification on the system," Wei said, noticing it.

They were a bit late as they had spent a bit more ti with mphis than they expected.

But Kael had not yet said anything on the public forums of the lion system.

They could only wonder what was happening to cause the delay.

//////

It wasn’t just the consorts and Wei that noticed the delay, those like lionesses who had heard so rumors were also eagerly waiting.

The sooner Kael explained to them what the consort trial would be, the sooner they could get started on working on how to complete it.

They had heard so news that Kael’s consorts would be participating.

They wondered, did this an that anyone who outperford the consorts would be able to replace them?

This increased the stakes as many more lionesses felt they had a chance again.

Spirit lionesses who didn’t give a shir about Priya’s feelings rushed over to the Massive Black Pyramid or settled themselves down wherever they were with their eyes on the golden screen of the system.

They waited, not in vain.

Just when mphis’s ti shuttle was approaching the enormous pyramid...
