Chapter 534: Chapter 534: Cleanse The Impurities

"This way, the Mistress wishes to see us," A rat man said with a gruff voice as he led his kinsn through the thick growth.

"What does she want? Is this because of those visitors?" One of the rats asked while he was in the process of changing into his humanoid form.

They continued walking fast toward their destination.

mphis had never made any provision for transport for them. Even if they had a shuttle, there was no place to go as this heavenly realm was filled with lions that would tear them apart once they left the safety of mphis’s continent.

At least, she could have provided a hover platform or sothing but she seed not to care. mphis herself hardly required the services of the rats unless to run small errands or tidy things up.

She had seen reason to provide anities that would improve the lives of her rats, making them better than what they were.

Unfortunately, she never acted on those reasons.

"Shhh, you shouldn’t be talking about the master and her visitors like that, they are royals," One female rat lady said, brushing off the wet dirt from her palms.

"Is there sothing wrong with the way I speak?" The young rat man asked while maintaining his position at the center of the moving group.

"You’re being disrespectful. You shouldn’t be talking about them at all," another rat person said.

All of them had changed into their humanoid form now that they were close to their destination and could walk there.

In this group alone, there were about twenty rat-humanoids.

"Why not?" The young bashful rat lad asked, seemingly lacking fear for his masters.

"Don’t forget that Master is a bit nicer than others of her kind.

Rember that there’s always a difference between how she treats us and how her students treat us," Another rat added.

"Yep, and she doesn’t ever try to stop them,"

"Why would she? We’re just slaves to them all." The young rat lad said.

"Hmm, it’s been almost a century since that one called Ma’abu left. Such a weird guy..."

"Hey," Their leader, the green-haired rat man at the front, said, "Just rember to be respectful, okay!

The royals can kill us if they want to and only Master mphis can save us.

And I don’t think she’d be willing to save you if you keep talking like that about her and her visitors, hehehe..."

The last sentence was ant for the rat lad that didn’t know how to control his tongue.

The humanoids, naked and dirty, soon ca close to a clearing and walked out of the forest, leaving a wall of trees behind them.

Unfortunately...

"Master mphis?" Kael’s deep voice echoed ominously in the vicinity.

"Look mphis, they even have the privilege of calling your real na. Yet that one speaks as though you and he are equals.

What have you done, mphis?" Kael asked.

The twenty-odd rats that walked out of the forest were filled with a sense of dread that ca out of nowhere.

Their eyes scanned their imdiate surroundings, finding the source of the voice a second later.

Up above, five entities hovered like divine gods lording over all mortals.

Exalon, Ozia, mphis, Katari, and Kael.

Kael had changed his attire into an all black activity suit and had trimd his beard.

He barely aged, not even a slight crease to show that he had spent fifty years in a ti bubble.

His arms were kept behind his back, accenting the curves of his broad shoulders and his spectacular chest muscles.

The five of them had been listening to the conversation these rat people were having on their way here. Even if the rats had decided to use telepathy, they couldn’t hide it from Kael.

"They’re untrained," Exalon said as he stroked his mustache while observing the other groups of rats that were coming out of the forest into the clearing.

mphis did not say anything, but she directed looks of pity toward the rat people.

mphis had discovered recently that she didn’t have as much control over things as she would like to admit.

She had traded her life in solitude for a life with a Primordial l the mont she decided to help Kael.

She didn’t know exactly what Kael experienced but since he ca out, Kael has been asking if he could do anything for her in a very uncomfortable way.

It was as if he could sense that mphis truly wanted sothing from him.

Or Exalon might have shared the details of the conversation he had with her, allowing Kael to know that he had a small amount of leverage.

Then again, she could only observe Kael and the rats while wondering what the All-King had planned for them.

Even if it were soone else, she wouldn’t favor the lives of these rats over her own race.

Ozia looked down at them with disdain, his fit barring with levitation runes to keep him suspended.

From below, the rats noticed that the tall blonde-haired man in the middle seed like the leader.

They noticed that the others did not hover at the sa altitude as the blonde-haired man. Kael was flying at least a head over all of them, including mphis.

"Oh, the pain!" Kael’s expression suddenly changed. The smile on his face disappeared and an unholy level of coldness ca over.

"All-King, what is it?" Exalon turned and asked, genuinely worried.

"These rats have contributed to the impurity of our race," Kael stated, his golden gaze scanning all the rat groups that were entering his vision.

The strongest ones were at most tier 4.

"I didn’t see it before because I was too distracted.

Look at the sky," Kael said in a commanding tone.

The others, including all the rats that could hear him, all looked at the sky.

"Heaven isn’t ant to be so colourful," Kael said, "Our heaven is ant to be layered with a golden sky!

Its current look is a testant to how impure we have gotten.

I feel bad, I feel tainted.

I have been surrounding myself with such impurities and I didn’t notice it.

A sha on us all.

We have strayed far from our intended purpose.

But not to worry, the impurities shall be cleansed."

Kael’s words stunned everyone. Never did they think that the multicoloured feature of the heavenly sky was due to a so-called impurity.

For many of them, including Exalon and mphis, the skies of heaven had been multicoloured since they were born.

"What do you an when you say the impurities shall be cleansed?" mphis asked with a deep frown as she turned to face Kael.

Kael smiled, "Oh, my dear mphis," Kael looked down, "This is just a necessary part of the Great Purification.

Or, don’t you want to beco immortal?"
