Chapter 520: Chapter 520: They Are Not Lions

The Ti Machine, a vessel which looked similar to a shuttle, yet was very different, approached the vast continent.

The ti machine aligned its length with the edge of the continent, landing softly on the dirt ground.

The doors on the sides opened, and various figures erged from the vessel.

*Sniff!*

As soon as Kael stepped out of the shuttle-like ti machine, he took a deep breath.

Open before him was a vast world, full of lush green vegetation and vibrant plant life.

His ear twitched, he could hear the sound of twigs snapping and leaves rustling.

He took a step forward and the bottom of his hard boot created a powerful thud sound as he walked on the tal stairs that unfolded down to the dirt ground.

As Kael walked out, Katari followed from behind with a vigilant gaze scanning the whole place.

Kael reached the group and the bottom of his boots sank softly into the dirt. He continued taking in deep breaths.

"There are other creatures here," Kael said with a severe and concerning frown.

Exalon walked out of the doorway behind them, also taking in a deep breath.

He frowned, noticing the odd sll. With their power levels, they could easily sniff out every organism for thousands of kilotres.

mphis walked out through another door beside theirs, and following her was Ozia.

mphis looked up to the sky and saw that there were a hundred or so arkships parked at different locations in her airspace.

She tolerated this, understanding that this was for the betternt of everyone, including her.

"Those are my rats," She said casually as she stepped down the tal stairs.

As soon as her feet touched the ground, the whole continent trembled seriously. Tremors passed through the ground for a while before mysteriously ending.

It was as if the continent was rejoicing at the return of its master. For mphis who had been sitting on the peak of the continent’s highest peak, even a day of absence was very noticeable.

"Is this continent sentient?" Exalon asked in confusion.

For continents to develop spiritual awareness was not impossible, but they were incredibly rare and sought after by all.

"Not really, but it’s starting to develop. I’m hoping for it to be finalized before the next millennium," mphis said as she walked toward Kael, Katari, and Exalon.

Ozia followed obediently behind her, he looked around with skepticism and awe, acknowledging that he had never seen most of the vegetation on this planet before.

Before leaving the interior of the ti machine, mphis had co to him. and explained everything with a long but brief telepathic conversation.

He understood that mphis was supposed to now be his ntor or sothing and since his father was here, he probably already approved it.

Ozia appreciated this as he sotis felt like he was operating below his potential.

"You keep other creatures here with you?" Kael turned to mphis and asked with a seriously irritated expression.

mphis looked at Kael and her breathing froze for a mont. There was sothing in Kael’s eyes that had changed all of a sudden.

"Yes, my slave rats that help

with nial work. I keep them around to maintain the continent for

and keep it clean.

Is there any problem?" She asked.

Right on ti, the bushes parted ways and a giant rat strolled out of the greenery and into the clearing that they all were standing in.

The giant rat was about two ters tall when standing on all fours and had a silky green fur coat. Its black eyes stared cautiously at the group.

"Your actions threaten the integrity of our heaven, I’d suggest you look for an alternative very soon," Kael said with a narrowed gaze.

One might think that Kael was speaking out of the influence of Silax’s mories, which could be partially true as the sight of a foreign creature in Leonine Heaven was strongly triggering those so-called peaceful mories.

But Kael was also speaking from instinct. He didn’t know how or why but he could genuinely feel that if the integrity of this heaven was constantly challenged, they could be kicked out.

"Do you know how heaven works?" mphis asked with a surprised expression. This was the first ti she had heard this.

Other lion kings mostly just didn’t try to bring foreign creatures into heaven not because they didn’t want to, but because most of them would not survive here.

If they wanted to co here, they would have to co in a large and powerful group like the dragons did, and they might have to co with their own affiliated law.

That was the crux, the Leonine Heaven was saturated with the essence of the Law of Conquering, any creature that wasn’t affiliated with it that tried to live here would have a hard ti adjusting unless they were very strong themselves.

Rats were not affiliated with the law of Conquering, nor were they lions. Why should they be allowed to exist in this sacred place reserved for the lions?

"Never mind," Kael said, although he now seems to be a bit grumpy.

The whole idea of other creatures living together with his lion race, even though they were subordinates, rubbed him the wrong way.

It felt like soone was trying to touch sothing that belonged to him and no one was listening.

Kael couldn’t explain this complicated feeling so he just decided to overlook it for now. Besides, mphis had been keeping these rats here for thousands of years now. If sothing bad was going to happen, it would have happened already.

"Greetings, master," The green-furred rat greeted and bowed.

"Greetings, visitors," The rat then turned to Kael and the others to bow.

Just then, the rat noticed the bottle of wine grasped firmly in Exalon’s grip. Exalon also noticed that the rat was looking at the wine bottle in his hand.

For three seconds, the rat had his eyes locked on the bottle, his eyelids twitching.

A telepathic wave from mphis reached his mind, carrying so scolding and words of assurance.

Only then did the rat nod his head and look away.

He was fortunate because Exalon was already getting mildly irritated at being stared at like that by a being he considered inferior.

"Exalon, mphis probably hasn’t disciplined these rats very well," Kael said privately to Exalon using telepathy.

"She’s not even a lion queen or any pride leader’s consort, what did you expect?

She’s diverted a little bit from the lionhood culture and lost her edge," Exalon responded to Kael.

"Kael," Katari suddenly called to Kael telepathically too, "I don’t trust her," She said.

"Hmm, I know," Kael nodded subtly.

"All-King, we should make sure she joins the system fast," Exalon added.

"Okay," Kael’s golden gaze grew firm.

He walked a bit faster and he caught up with mphis who was walking in the middle.

In front of them was the rat who was leading the way. Beside mphis was Ozia. They had been discussing with each other for a while now before Kael ca.

Kael noted this again in the back of his mind.

"So, when does the Baptism of Ti start?" He asked.

"Now," mphis said. Then she snapped her fingers.

The whole continent groaned like a beast that was waking up from a thousand-year slumber. The ground trembled again and Kael could feel mphis’s aura rise.

Kael looked back to see that Exalon and Katari were nowhere to be found. Even the green rat in front of them had disappeared at so point.

All who were left were just mphis and Ozia with him.

Ozia looked around with shock, he could sense sothing that Kael couldn’t.

"What is this?" Kael asked with a frown.

"A ti bubble, this one is yours specifically," mphis said calmly as she looked around.

"If you want, I can take you out of it, I won’t force you to go ahead with it. Besides, your guardians are hovering above my continent and would do sothing drastic if they ever saw sothing was wrong."

Kael shook his head, "Let’s just get this over with," He said, he just wanted to get stronger and be done with it.

mphis tilted her head, "You seem to assu that this will take a short ti, Kael.

You may have misunderstood

because of my lack of a detailed description.

In this baptism of ti, you will feel the force of eons crashing down on you within seconds.

For those outside, a short ti may pass, but for you...

It depends on how long you can last, and how long you want to last."

Kael raised an eyebrow, "Really?"

"Yes," mphis nodded, "All with ti powers like Ozia here must undergo this baptism so that they can be sensitive to the flow of ti and learn how to control it.

The reason Ozia can’t use his ti powers really well is that he is still too young and has no idea what the flow of ti is.

Once he partakes in his own baptism, he should be ready for more of my ntorship."

Ozia’s eyes brightened.

If what mphis was saying was true, then it ant that without the baptism, only old ti lions would be able to use their powers.

It made sense a little bit.

"I don’t have ti powers, not yet. How is this going to be beneficial to

now?" Kael wondered out loud.

He didn’t mind Ozia doing this to beco stronger for the sake of his goals, but he personally didn’t want to waste ti on this if there was not going to be any actual benefits for him besides experience.

mphis smiled, "I’m pretty sure every experience you have is beneficial to you.

But this Baptism of Ti offers more than experience. It offers enlightennt, clarity, spare ti, and pressure.

If you think you can evolve to tier 6 in a short period, then you’re severely mistaken.

Even talented entities like you must follow certain protocols.

The Baptism of Ti can help you out here.

Alas, how far you go depends mostly on you.

Should we begin?"
