Chapter 400: Chapter 400: The Contract Between Two Primordials

"Your Majesty, you an the contract you have been talking about?" Marcus asked, his eyes gleaming with eagerness.

"Yes," Kael said, and waved his hand at the table. Golden moats of light fell out of his hand to form different transparent screens.

These screens weren’t the manifestation of the lion system, they were the pieces of the contact Kael was talking about.

The screens solidified into golden celestial paper and arranged themselves, stacking up on each other.

Kael flicked his finger and the stack of paper moved toward Marcus. Marcus reached out his hand and touched the paper.

It was almost weightless to him. He couldn’t tell if it was because of his physical strength or if the stack of paper was actually just weightless.

His eyes scanned the contents as he flipped the paper slowly. He read everything, easily understanding the words written on it.

"You shall be the primary participant, and I’ll be the secondary?" Maecus asked to clarify as he continued looking through the clauses.

Kael nodded, "Yes, there has to be an authority to serve as a foundation for the contract.

Did you want it to be a contract of equal partnership?" He asked.

Marcus shook his head vehently, "No no, that would imply that we are equal. You’re the boss, naturally, you should be the primary participant."

Kael didn’t say anything, he just watched as Marcus continued to read the contract.

"Our own system based on our law?" Marcus asked again as excitent welled up within him.

Wasn’t this too generous? No it wasn’t. In return for this, Kael would be getting Death Essence.

Marcus was going to get Conquering Essence, although not in its pure state but as a System.

"It might change you a bit but you will still be you.

As for the system, I’m sure you have seen the Lion System I created for my race. The only reason it exists is because of , I exist as its source and anchor.

But that is all for the lions as it is based on the Law of Conquering.

If I want to create a system for another race that is affiliated with another law, I would need their Primordial as a focal point.

You’ll give

Death Essence, and I’ll give you the System.

I have done extensive simulations on my own and it will go well," Kael said.

"But, you’ve tried to infuse Conquering Essence into a non-lion before, their body simply broke down.

How do you want to infuse the system, whose structure is based on the law of Conquering, into the vultures?" Marcus asked.

"It’ll be a mix. Even you can’t withstand my power, and I can’t withstand yours," Kael said.

This was the main reason why they had taken so long to reach this stage. Kael was not a vulture or a creature affiliated with the law of death.

How could he control sothing he wasn’t affiliated with? At most, he would experience extre discomfort if Death Essence just sat around passively in his body and maybe develop a strong desire to die.

Just like when he had infused Marcus with his Conquering Essence when they first t.

However, if either of the Law Essences were to be in an active state in their bodies, it could harm them and cause them serious damage.

So Kael needed a bridge, sothing that would allow them to mix powers... a compromise.

Kael had scrolled through Derylia’s mories to find it, and he finally found it.

"We’ll simply set the power of the primary participant as the dominant force, and every other essence would be the subordinate force," Kael said.

With a center of control, the two laws would not try to fight for dominance if a dominant law was already agreed upon.

That was what Derylia did that allowed her to share so of her powers with the Dragon Primordial of then.

She had set the Law of Conquering as the subordinate force and had the Law of Destruction as the dominant force.

It was no wonder the dragons were able to harm the lions so much during the first war. Derylia had practically altered the very nature of the Law of Conquering.

Conquerors should be dominant, not subordinates.

All of Kael’s contracts had always been with him acting as the dominant party or force, that was the whole reason why it could work and why he could benefit from it.

From the Obedience debts to the consort contract, Kael was always the dominant party in the agreent.

Ignoring one of Derylia’s many mistakes, Kael brought his mind back to the present.

"The law of Conquering would be the one to control the law of Death, do you understand?" Kael asked.

Marcus paused, then asked, "My freedom..."

"Irrelevant, you’re survival?" Kael returned with a question.

"That’s what matters, I guess," Marcus nodded, "What about autonomy?"

Kael shook his head, "You’ve already been working for

for so ti now, did you ever feel like I was restricting your autonomy?" He asked.

"Well, not really," Marcus reasoned. Although Kael gave orders and was authoritative, he wasn’t unreasonable.

"Your Majesty, I want to understand sothing," Marcus said.

Kael looked at him, waiting for the vulturean to speak.

"This power that we are sharing, is it going to be used by other lions? Or just you?" Marcus asked.

Kael didn’t answer imdiately, he thought. Derylia had shared her power with the dragons and that had cost the lions a lot.

It was like their kryptonite.

But setting the law of Conquering as the dominant force should remove that weakness.

But if it was like that and the lions were indeed allowed to use Death Essence, that would be a major weakness to all vultures.

Marcus did not know this.

"Even if we were to share it, it wouldn’t be free," Kael said. If he was going to give his Death Essence to other lions, he would surely collect paynt for it.

"We’ll handle that part later when the ti is right. Let’s focus on the contract now," Kael said.

Marcus then continued reading it. As expected the contract contained an absolute loyalty clause.

The only way to escape this contract was by perishing or reincarnation.

If Marcus died, the vultures would lose their system.

"And it says here that I can’t possibly share my power with any other person besides you, but you don’t have such restrictions on yourself..."

"Any problem with that?"

"No, I was just understanding that you really intend on finding the other Primordials and roping them in.

You’ve described the universe as a very vast place, Your Majesty, far larger than what my brain could imagine.

How do you hope to find the rest?"

Kael shook his head, "Sotis, you may not have to look any further, sotis they will be the ones to co to you."

His words were vague and Marcus did not really understand what he was saying.

After checking everything, Marcus found that he was pretty okay with the clauses of the contract. At least, he could live with the conditions.

"I’m ready, I’ll sign it," He said.

"Go ahead then," Kael said.

Marcus then used his will to add his identity mark to the space that required his input.

As soon as he was done, changes occurred.

The stack of golden paper exploded into moats of golden light that then faded away.

anwhile, Marcus began to blink his eyes rapidly as sothing appeared in his line of sight.

A black semi-transparent screen appeared in his vision, almost blocking his view of Kael.

At the sa ti, Kael frowned, he felt a vast amount of Conquering Essence being diverted from the Lion System.

The Vassal Records screen appeared in front of him, showing him the long list of all the identity marks belonging to the vultures.

One by one, the identity marks lit up with dark light and Marcus’s identity mark lit up with a golden dark light.

It was happening, the system was spreading.

Kael smiled, finally, he had succeeded.

He was one step closer.

Conquering Essence was drained rapidly as all the vultures on Eridoria started seeing status screens in front of them.

Most of this system was still blank and lacked any features. This was done intentionally by Kael.

He was giving Marcus the autonomy and authority to fix and add any feature he wanted to the new Vulture System.

Of course, there was a limit. Marcus could only form features that were in alignnt with his Law of Death.

It would still be similar to Kael’s Lion System, with missions, exchange sections, chat rooms, and so on. But it may be based heavily around things like necromancy and the concept of death.

For example, instead of a Vassal Record, they would have an Undead Listing or sothing similar.

Either way, Kael had achieved full dominion over the vultures, all thanks to their Primordial.

And best of all...

Kael raised his palm to see a black swirling mass of ill power. The swirling mass of Death Essence circled above his palm.

There was no change in his appearance at all. His hair remained blonde and his eyes were still gold.

However, Kael had definitely conquered death, figuratively.

He clenched his hand, forcing the black mist to dissipate. He looked at Marcus who had recovered from his state of surprise.

Both of them sensed the sa thing, their power levels were rising.
