"No!" Chloe blurted.
"No?" Kael questioned with a frown, he looked back to see that Chloe was looking at him in disbelief.
"You can't actually be serious about going after the heavenly beacon right?" Chloe asked.
"I do, and you are going to help ," Kael stated.
"No no no, I thought we were going to have revenge on Isaiah?" Chloe asked, her mind churning. Still, her wings continued flapping and she didn't stop flying.
"Isaiah? Yes, we're also going to get Isaiah, but the heavenly beacon is the main priority.
Did you really think I would travel so far just to chase after Isaiah? I'm not that jobless.
So things are just way more important than revenge, an example is this opportunity," Kael said.
Chloe was speechless, she was sure that Kael didn't know the imnsity of what he was attempting.
"You really don't understand the gravity of the situation, do you? And besides, you're halfway into tier 4 at best, how do you plan on getting past Xu Ying who is a veteran tier 4 lion?" She asked.
Kael turned back to face the front, "I have my ways,"
Chloe didn't talk again as she noticed that Kael's voice had beco a bit colder. It was impudent of her to question his decision when he held her life in his paws.
"Tell ," Kael said, "Besides being a bridge between heaven and the universe, does the heavenly beacon do any other thing?"
"Umm," Chloe thought about her next words, "Well, lion kings can also use it to claim by giving Prince and Lord roles to other lions.
The thod you guys use on this planet to signify pride leaders is very crude, there is no symbol of certainty.
In the heavenverse, a pride leader has to be at least a Lord, if not, the pride won't be recognized.
Mind you, there are many benefits of receiving a role from a certified Lion King, one of them is that Princes and Lords can act as extensions of the Lion King.
No matter where a Prince is, he can create a bridge between him and his Lion King as long as he has the king's permission.
It is the sa for Lords too, just that they can create heavenly bridges or gates between them and the Lion Princes.
This allows the whole clan to easily claim territory without the fear of distance while also being able to call for backup. Think of it like a multi-sided summoning ritual.
As you can imagine, once Xu Ying gets the heavenly beacon, he will imdiately try to summon his Lion King to this world.
There is also the fact that the heavenly beacon is said to slightly increase the strength of a Lion King, which may be true. It is common knowledge that a tier 5 Lion King will be stronger than an ordinary tier 5 lion.
There are other subtle uses of the heavenly beacon that we common lionesses and lions don't know about."
Kael humd in silence, Chloe had described the heavenly beacon in a way that disturbed him.
The uses of the heavenly beacon were eerily similar to the kind of features that would be added to a system, the Lion System in particular.
Could it be that the heavenly beacons are a product of one of the previous Primordials ssing around?
There were a lot of features that Kael had planned to add to the lion system to make lions depend on it more while also preserving their nature.
Makeshift summoning? Bridge? Enhancing effect? These were all features that he had once thought of casually but didn't bother to implent it.
That was because the resources needed to create such features were unthinkable.
The heavenly beacons were like crowns, in a way. Whoever wears it gains the ability to summon basically any title holder in the clan besides being a bridge between heaven and the universe.
Wait…Kael suddenly thought of sothing.
"You said Lion King's are the bridges between heaven and the universe. That ans they could just open bridges and let all the lions live in heaven.
If they did that, I would have been born in heaven. Why conquer the universe when you can conquer heaven?
Make it make sense," Kael said, frowning.
He understood that lions had a certain culture to uphold that heavily revolved around conquering.
But this was heaven they were talking about, he had never been there but he guessed it would be very vast and full of resources.
He refused to believe that they had completely conquered the Leonine Heavenly Realm.
Chloe smiled with a lancholic vibe, she understood what Kael was talking about. Why would they co to the universe when they could just stay in the heavenverse?
"It's not so simple," Chloe said, "Yes, the Leonine Heavenly Realm belongs to us but it wasn't made FOR US.
The whole realm is constantly trying to expel us from within, the only ones who can stay in heaven permanently are the lion kings.
I myself have nearly been expelled from heaven on multiple occasions if not for the protection of my clan's king.
The only reason so many ordinary lions can last so long in heaven is because they are under the combined protection of the Alliances.
There have been debates on whether lions should be fully expelled to the universe so that the lion kings can redirect their attention elsewhere…"
"There is no need for debate," Kael suddenly said, a mory flashing before his eyes.
"What?" Chloe asked, confused.
"The previous Primordial Lions intended for those heavenly beacons to be used by the kings. He didn't want every lion to reside in heaven, he wanted just the kings.
The most important part of the lion civilization is the kings, being able to stay in heaven is a privilege reserved for her lion kings alone.
Your lack of a Primordial to guide you has led to the abuse of such privileges, INSOLENT!"
Kael's telepathic voice spread far and he subconsciously hamred into Chloe's mind, causing her to beco unstable and almost crash to the ground.
Even Eidel and Ruda paused for a mont to assess what had gone wrong.
Kael was unaware of whose mory had surfaced, all he knew was that it had been shown to him after he heard Chloe's explanation.
It caused a feeling of disappointnt and suppressed rage to well up from within. He hurriedly cald down, even now, he was not yet immune to the side effects of the mories.
Chloe shivered, flapping her wings and staring at Kael's distancing figure. The golden lion didn't apologize, he seed too preoccupied with what was happening in his mind to care about Chloe.
Perhaps, he didn't even know what he had done.
"The lion race requires restructuring, you all have strayed too far from the plan," Kael said in a deep voice.
Electricity coated his wings and flas burst out of his paws. He shot forth, bursting out with incredible force.
Chloe flapped hard, trying to keep up with him but finding that the distance was just increasing.
Eidel and Ruda looked from above as Kael rushed toward the sea with a sudden sense of urgency.
The two followed, increasing their running speed to the max but the only one who could sowhat keep up was Ruda.
The breeze slapped against Kael's furry face and pressed his dark golden mane against his back.
The mory replayed itself once again in his head, causing him to growl. The lions did not know what they were doing.
What other mistakes were they making?
Kael was once again reminded of his duty, a duty that unfortunately now had to be fulfilled with bloodshed.
He would get the Heavenly Beacon, proclaim himself king, and forge his alliances. And he would do all this while increasing his strength.
For only with strength would he be able to rewrite the blunders, only with strength would he lead the lions, and only with strength would he force the kings to bow.
For the sake of the lion race, for the sake of heaven's integrity.
"Too many mistakes have been made already," Kael spoke to himself, "How incompetent," His eyes narrowed as a ruthless glint flashed by.
Soon, the sight of the sea appeared before him. It was still far away but he was steadily getting close.
Chloe and Ruda were still behind while Ruda had beco a lightning incarnate on the ground to follow Kael.
With another flap of his wings, he slowed down, causing a massive gust of wind to fly forth from his position.
He blinked, pushing down the sense of urgency. "Everything in due ti," He said, his mind churning with new analysis and cold calculations.
The electricity disappeared from his wings and the flas died from his paws. His eyes beca a bit dazed before returning to clarity.
"All in due ti," They all said at once.
anwhile, while Kael was rushing to the sea with his lionesses, Isaiah was on the brink of death.
He was unaware of what was to co.
