Chapter 257: Eternally Yours
When Samantha was brought to the double doors that led to the garden, she was surprised to figure out that it wasn’t held in the main hall, but in the royal garden, and basically, everything was happening in accordance to how she had told Ivan she wished her dream wedding to look like. Did he really store those details?
When the grand doors opened to reveal a cobblestone path, Maurice and his sister exchanged glances, and when he nodded his head in encouragent, they began their slow, graceful procession through the garden path.
The environnt was surrounded by an enchanting, almost mystical atmosphere, and Samantha could feel her nervousness returning at the sight of many guests who were seated at each side of the path. The garden was filled with both familiar and unfamiliar faces, whilst they were a blend of both humans and vampires.
Everyone stood in hushed anticipation as she walked by, and a few of the guests could not help but comnt.
"I knew she was going to be the one, the very mont His Majesty let her sit on the Queen’s seat during the clash of Valor event, this day was bound to beco a reality."
"She is indeed pretty! She’s the one they said to possess powers that are similar to the orb, and she is the sole reason behind GreenHollow’s present existence."
"Did you know, her Father was never guilty of the cri he was accused of. I heard it myself, I hope Agathe is seriously being punished for ruining the lives of such a young couple."
"I say, we should be expecting an heir soon!"
As they approached the grand stone archway, Samantha’s heart skipped a beat. Through the delicate lace of her veil, she caught a glimpse of her soon-to-be husband. He stood at the altar, tall and regal, his dark hair and aristocratic features making him a striking figure. His crimson eyes were intently locked on her as she approached, and she took in his outfit, which was a dark regal attire that was as captivating as the look he was currently giving her.
"Oooh, she looks enchanting!" Alistair quietly praised from the rooftop where he sat with his brother as they watched the wedding happen.
"This is too much for our dear cousin, he’s not even breathing."
"He forgot how to breathe." Tobias humd with the sa expressionless deanor, "love sure is a scary thing."
"Tell
about it. Hey, Father made ntion of finding you a bride earlier, there are many–"
"If you support Father in this you will be the one getting married." Tobias said, shutting Alistair up.
Finally reaching the altar, Ivan’s outstretched hand eagerly t hers as he helped her climb up, and then, she was facing him. The ancient vampire priest, who was draped in ornate robes, held a centuries-old book of ceremonies. His voice resonated with power and wisdom as he guided the couple towards taking their wedding vow.
"Ivan Chevalier and Samantha Dufort, the union of your hearts marks a love that transcends the boundaries of ti and existence. You stand here today, ready to pledge your eternal devotion to each other."
The priest continued, but Samantha’s focus remained on Ivan, her heart and soul drawn to him as if by an irresistible force. She blushed in the depths of her veil when he tilted his head slowly with admiration, but no one seed to notice this gesture of his except her.
"Samantha Dufort, do you take Ivan, to be your eternal partner? In tis of day and night? In life and in undeath? Do you promise to stand by his side? To cherish and adore him?"
"I do." She answered tearfully, and she was grateful for the veil that concealed it.
Nodding his head in approval, the priest turned to Ivan. "Do you, Ivan Chevalier, take Samantha as your beloved bride? To protect and honor her, to be the guardian of her heart for all ti? Do you vow to share in her joys and sorrows, to be her refuge in the night’s embrace?"
"I do." He answered passionately, and Samantha’s eyes glistened with emotions.
Maurice was busy sneezing into so tissues while Bryn patted his back. Jack brought out his handkerchief and gave it to Maurice.
"There there."
"By the power vested in , I now pronounce you bonded for all eternity. You may seal your commitnt with a kiss, as husband and wife."
Hearing this, Samantha’s eyes snapped wide, but Ivan had already taken a step forward, breaching the distance between them. He lifted off her veil to reveal the face of the woman who was now the reason for his existence.
Samantha’s heart drumd when his hand slithered around her waist, drawing her close. With their eyes locked in an intense gaze, his tender lips t hers for a passionate kiss. The environnt imdiately erupted with cheers and applause as the couple’s love was celebrated.
Pulling back, he whispered against her lips, "Finally mine."
"Eternally yours." She whispered back, adorably rubbing the tip of her nose against his, forgetting that they were in front of people. Ivan embraced the lovely woman, and the people present could not contain how heartwarming it felt watching them like this.
They received blessings from the elders, and everyone was eager to wish them a happy married life.
"Congratulations!" Alistair approached Samantha with his arms stretched out, as if he wanted to hug her, but Ivan imdiately pulled at the back of Alistair’s collar, drawing him back.
When Alistair t his gaze, the vampire’s eyes were already darkening like a gathering storm, about to rain lightning on Alistair, and the fellow still dared to smile.
"Co on, she’s like a sister to ."
"Congratulations will do just fine." He released Alistair’s collar from his grip. Tobias shook his head, knowing Alistair was invoking Ivan’s jealousy on purpose.
"He will never learn until Ivan deep-fries him."
"Your Majesty!" The sweet, child-like voice belonging to a familiar little boy caught Samantha’s attention, and a happy look displayed on her feature when Alain ca running into her arms.
"Where have you been? Didn’t you know I missed you?" Samantha playfully queried the little boy who pointed at his approaching parents.
"They didn’t let , they said you were busy and had no ti to play with ." He reported, and Samantha squeezed his adorable cheek lightly before looking at his parents.
"You’ve seen her, are you happy now?" Cassian asked his son who nodded his head with a smile, and Madeline moved first as she hugged Samantha
"Congratulations! I am so happy we are still here to witness the beautiful occasion, you two are ant for one another."
"Your Majesty."
"The famous Duke." Ivan responded to Cas’s curt remark, but a smile eventually graced their stiff lips as they shook hands.
"Congratulations on your wedding, it was splendid."
"Thank you, the second blood moon is in a few days now, you must be excited to return."
"It’s a mix."
"Look! There’s cream puff at that table." Alain pointed towards it for Samantha.
"Let’s go get so?"
He nodded, and Samantha left with Alain. Ivan simply watched them go, and he couldn’t believe that little brat took his wife away from him.
"His one talent is stealing married won from their husbands." Cassian tched, knowing how much he separated his son from his wife just to spend so ti with her.
From the shady path of the garden, Duncan remained seated. He wanted to congratulate the newlyweds, but with the amount of people hovering around them like a swarm of bees, he couldn’t bring himself to go there.
He flicked his wrist, gaining his guard’s attention.
"Yes, your Majesty?"
"Go, send my wishes to Ivan and his bride. I’ll see them personally when they’re no longer surrounded." He ordered his guard who could only nod his head.
When he left, Duncan silently continued to scrutinize the guests. He suddenly rembered the wedding gifts he had kept in his chamber. He wanted to call back his guard but he was long gone. Looking at the sunny path, he couldn’t afford to get burnt, not today.
Lucy, who had been observing him from where he sat, could sense that he needed assistance with sothing, considering the expressions he subconsciously made on his face. Using this as her opportunity to speak with him again, she left the crowd and went to et the vampire who looked in her direction, simply because he sensed soone was approaching him.
Bowing her head politely in front of him, she asked, "does his Majesty need help with sothing? I can be of assistance."
"Well I do need your assistance," he answered, to her quick surprise, "can you shield
with that umbrella behind you and follow
up to my Chambers?"
"Your...cha...Chambers??" Lucy’s eyes widened, and she couldn’t stop herself from eting his crimson eyes.
