Chapter 100: Chapter 8. The Inn

When I directly pointed out to the guy his behavior, which in this situation was not too different from the behavior of the scoundrels he hated, Yufil de Walt first blushed, and then got angry at .

— You fool! Isn’t it obvious that I did this to save us? — he declared.

— .....

— Thanks to whom do you think you are still alive? Where is your gratitude?

After this pompous statent, the duke’s heir crossed his arms over his chest. I continued to remain completely perplexed.

No, it’s true that thanks to Yufil’s ??performance?? and his disguise, we miraculously managed to avoid mortal danger. But still... The guy definitely went a little further than saving our lives when he tricked the bandits into giving us all their possessions.

However... Was it even worth sympathizing with these people? In the end, these bandits only got what they deserved. And this money, most likely, they also stole from soone.

So I decided to just turn a blind eye to this situation.

Anyway, thanks to the money we received from the bandits, our situation has beco a little better.

After recovering a little from the incident, we did not stay long in this place and continued on our way.

After wandering through the forest for almost another day, we finally ca across so rudints of civilization. It was a small inn on the edge of the forest edge. Its wooden walls were dilapidated, and the roof was covered with moss, but still, in our situation, even that was better than nothing, and almost comparable to a five-star hotel.

When I was happy and invited Yufil to go there, he stared at

indignantly.

— Are you kidding? Do you want us to really go there? — The duke’s heir’s expression turned disdainful as he took in the sloppy facade of the building.

I was amazed how, even in such a situation, the guy continued to maintain his aristocratic snobbery. By the way, it’s completely useless in our current circumstances.

??Let’s at least get so rest and have a bite to eat,?? I suggested. ??We can’t keep going like this, can we???

In fact, I really had no idea how much longer we would have to wander like this. So we really needed to take this opportunity to take a little breath.

And, apparently, Yufil’s stomach, which at that mont made a long rumbling sound, agreed with . In the end, the guy succumbed to my persuasions and agreed.

??So be it...?? he grumbled, ??but we’re only going in there for a little while!??

— Of course, of course.

In order not to attract too much attention to himself because of the form of the Dark Army, the guy threw on the cloak he was wearing before, just in case.

Yufil looked around with a displeased expression on his face as soon as we crossed the threshold of the establishnt. The guy was extrely wary, but I, very tired and hungry, just didn’t pay attention to such little things.

The interior inside wasn’t too different from the one outside. After all, it was just an ordinary inn, designed primarily for commoners and other mbers of the lower class.

There were several custors sitting at the tables, who, noticing us, stared at us with obvious curiosity. But we didn’t pay any attention to it. Tired after a long journey, we chose a table by the window, where it was quiet and the least crowded.

The inn’s waitress, a plump, middle-aged woman, ca up to us with a smile.

— What do you want, young people?

Since there wasn’t much choice on the nu, we decided to stick with two portions of grilled at. As for the drinks, there were only two to choose from. Beer and apple cider. It so happened that we both chose apple cider.

Yufil treated beer with ??contempt?? because it was considered a drink for commoners and was never consud by aristocrats. I, in turn, did not adhere to such prejudices. The reason was sothing else. I just wasn’t friends with alcohol, and the last case related to it, which eventually ended with my death, only confird this...

After taking our order, the waitress went into the kitchen, and we were finally able to relax.

??We’ll eat and leave right away,?? Yufil said, still looking around intently. ??Girl, you haven’t forgotten that we’re still in danger, have you???

??Of course I know.??

Since the Empress’s rcenaries could still continue to chase us, we couldn’t stay in one place for long. Besides, it’s likely that in the near future, the Crown Princess will also co after my soul to avenge what happened... In other words, I definitely should have enjoyed this opportunity to breathe fresh air while I had it!

After so waiting, the waitress brought us our order. However, it was unexpectedly slightly different from what we had originally ordered. Instead of two portions of roast at, the woman brought only one, and among other things, instead of apple cider, a large mug of dark beer was steaming on our table.

Yufil, seeing this, as usual, could not restrain himself and instantly lost his temper.

??What’s that supposed to an? This is not what we ordered!?? he exclaid.

??That’s not it??? The woman asked in surprise.

— How the hell do they take orders in your establishnt? Bring us what we ordered before! — the guy demanded.

At that mont, the woman absently looked at her notebook, where she had previously written down our order.

??Oh, yes,?? she muttered after a while, ??perhaps I might have confused your order with another custor.??.

??Got it mixed up??? I asked again.

— You and this custor ordered at almost the sa ti, so I must have accidentally confused them.

Realizing her mistake, the waitress took the tray with the contents that she had brought us earlier and brought another one instead. I saw that the table of the custor to whom the waitress had mistakenly brought our order was very close. And at that mont, when he slightly pulled back his hood to start eating...

His head suddenly turned in my direction. At that mont, I was also looking directly at him.

??.....??

Then there was absolute silence in the air.

I really couldn’t figure it out.

What the hell is Jeremy Seibel doing here...?!
