Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Masquerading as a Wandering Martial Doctor_1

Zhu Qing was thoroughly defeated by Zhang Xian. She had seen shaless people, but never anyone this shaless.

She was, after all, a beauty, wasn't she? Could this guy have a little decency? Was he seriously making a fuss over such a small matter? Were all n so clueless?

Giving Zhang Xian an disdainful look, she swallowed her dissatisfaction and turned to walk away.

"Ah, won's hearts are really hard to fathom, I'm just so confused!" Seeing that Zhu Qing was again angered, Zhang Xian followed her with a distressed face.

After walking for a while, Zhu Qing saw a cell phone store up ahead. Suddenly rembering Zhang Xian didn't have a phone and would be difficult to contact in the future, she imdiately went in.

Without purposely asking or even looking, she simply grabbed the cheapest phone and pushed it in front of Zhang Xian, "This is for you, it'll make communication easier in the future."

"You're giving

a phone?" Zhang Xian asked excitedly.

The salesperson looked disdainfully at Zhang Xian. Was there sothing wrong with this guy's brain? In today's society, a hundred dollar phone was considered nothing. Was it really worth getting so excited about?

"I..." Seeing Zhang Xian's excitent and the salesperson's disdain, Zhu Qing again felt defeated.

She had to admit, going out with Zhang Xian always brought her trouble. One never knew when he would pull so stunt that she couldn't tolerate.

Finally, after paying and getting a receipt, she hastily fled the phone store under the strange gaze of the salesperson.

"Hey, wait for ..." Zhang Xian hurriedly caught up.

Zhu Qing was annoyed, and so was he. In many cases, he had no idea how he had managed to offend Zhu Qing and ended up getting a lot of disdainful looks.

"Back already? How was your shopping trip?"

In the clinic, Zhu Wen sitting behind the desk saw Zhu Qing storm in followed by a puzzled Zhang Xian, and chuckled, "Co, co, co, take a seat."

"I'm going to cook." Zhu Qing didn't even go over, but headed straight to the kitchen.

During work days, she didn't eat at ho, so Zhu Wen had to fend for himself. When she had a day off and was back at ho, she would take over the cooking.

"Uh, Mr. Zhu, your clinic seems quite quiet. Don't you have many patients?" Zhang Xian sat down at the table and asked, "With this many patients, do you just barely cover your daily expenses?"

"More or less. Nowadays people look at the appearance of sothing. Our small clinic can't compete with big hospitals. Moreover, so shady clinics have ruined our reputation. Even though we are much cheaper than big hospitals, not many people are willing to choose private clinics. They don't trust them. My little clinic mainly relies on a few old regular custors. We rarely get new faces." Zhu Wen answered with a smile.

"Having regular custors just shows that Mr. Zhu's dical skills are excellent, and business will slowly pick up." Zhang Xian said with a smile.

"Haha, this clinic has been open for only two years, not long enough to be widely known. But business is now much better than before, thanks to everyone's help in promoting it." Zhu Wen shook his head, "Unfortunately, this clinic follows the traditional Chinese dicine route, and because it is more convenient and faster, most people prefer Western dicine."

"That's true." Zhang Xian knew the status quo of traditional Chinese dicine and recognized that this was the trend of the tis.

Since coming down from the mountain, he had found that the spiritual energy in this city was very thin and contaminated with a lot of impurities, making it unsuitable for cultivation. He figured he should try to earn so money for his cultivation resources.

Going out to work was not an option for him because he didn't have the ti and he hated being restricted. The only way seed to be through practicing dicine.

By chance, he was now involved with a small clinic. Could he ride on the reputation of the Humanity Clinic to pave his own wealth construction path? It would be more convenient and also nice to help Zhu Wen a little bit by bringing so business to the clinic.

"What are you thinking?" Zhu Wen laughed at Zhang Xian's thoughtful look. "It seed like Qingqing wasn't too happy when she ca back. Did the two of you have another conflict?"

"Ah, well... Qingqing's thinking is really hard to predict. Sotis when I upset her, I find it rather inexplicable." Zhang Xian responded with a bitter smile.

"Haha, don't worry about it. That girl may have a sharp tongue, but she's soft at heart. She'll calm down after so ti, just don't take it to heart." Zhu Wen laughed heartily.

...

After lunch and in the afternoon...

Zhu Wen was watching TV in the clinic while Zhu Qing had an appointnt with friends and disappeared after lunch.

Zhang Xian, on the other hand, had no intention of staying at ho either. He went to an alley, made up his disguise with the prepared accessories, and swaggered out onto the street.

It wasn't that he was scared of eting people, but rather because he was too young and it was hard to convince people that he was a Wandering Martial Doctor. So, he had to stick on a false beard and don sunglasses to make himself appear older.

A small stool, a small banner, and a canvas bag.

Zhang Xian sat quietly on a street, his eyes closed as though he were a statue.

The banner in his hand was simple -- a bamboo pole hanging a piece of cloth, with the words 'Miracle Cure for Chronic Diseases' written on it.

Many passersby glanced sidelong at him with curiosity. Normally people sitting out like this would shout to attract custors. But this man sat there quietly like a statue.

What was even more surprising was Zhang Xian's age; a young man boldly claiming to treat chronic diseases?

"Hey, kid, this is my turf. Who allowed you to co here?"

An old man wearing Tang Dynasty-style clothing walked over to Zhang Xian with a stool in his hand and asked nacingly.

"Says who?" Zhang Xian responded, "Does this road have your na on it? Or do you have a usage agreent for it?"

"You..." The old man glared angrily at Zhang Xian. "A greenhorn dares to swindle people. Are you tired of living? Do you know what death is?"

"I await your enlightening." Zhang Xian replied impassively.

The old man saw that Zhang Xian was undeterred, and felt quite frustrated. He couldn't co to blows with him, nor was he sure he could out-yell him. He was seriously at a loss as to what to do with Zhang Xian.

With a twitching smile, the old man sat down next to Zhang Xian and refused to leave, wanting to see whose deanor would earn more custors' trust.

Zhang Xian knew that the old man was trying to pry away his business and that he was not as convincing as the old man due to his age. However, he simply ignored him and continued to sit with eyes half-closed.

After a good while, a few people ca to inquire, but none actually invited him. Zhang Xian was unsure whether they were just here for fun or actually looking for treatnt.

Without a doubt, all the inquirers had approached the old man. Zhang Xian, due to his age, had nothing to do with them. No matter how much he tried to disguise himself, he still couldn't compare to the old 'Divine Doctor'.

"Excuse ....." A woman's voice suddenly rang out.

The old man quickly laughed, "Young lady, do you have a patient at ho?"

"Yes! "The woman nodded, "My mother has a strange illness. She goes crazy when she's sick, but the doctors can't figure out why. Can you two treat it?"

"Based on your description alone, I dare not make any promises." The old man shook his head, "But the guy next to

definitely can't treat it, just look at him and you'll know."
