Chapter 94 - 94: A New Patient at Bubu Pharmacy

The script of Liyue possesses a unique aesthetic—it's no longer just a simple set of symbols but an art, a philosophy, and a culture.

A single character can often embody profound and varied wisdom. This philosophy and changeability are also reflected in dicinal herbs.

Ma Qianzi, Jue Mingzi, Cang Erzi, Huang Yaozi, Ku Douzi, Chuan Lianzi...

Reciting their nas can almost turn into a lody.

The rain poured relentlessly.

Raindrops pelted against the tiles with a rhythmic pitter-patter, and the water trickled down, forming streams along the edges.

Qiqi sat under the eaves of Bubu Pharmacy, holding half a bottle of coconut milk, staring blankly at the incessant rain.

"Rain..."

Qiqi disliked rainy days. It wasn't just because the damp made her stiff and colder, but also because it might scare off the little finches.

If the little finches lost their hos, they would be left to shiver in the cold. Qiqi had experienced similar misfortune, so she understood all too well how uncomfortable that feeling was.

Cold... lonely... unbearable.

"Qiqi, don't let your clothes get wet."

Baizhu, who was inside checking dicinal ingredients, called out to Qiqi at the door.

He wasn't worried about Qiqi catching a cold—being a zombie, she was immune to human ailnts and wouldn't fall ill from the rain.

His reminder was purely an act of fulfilling his role as her guardian.

"Qiqi understands."

Although Qiqi replied obediently, she didn't move. She just continued gazing blankly at the rain.

Baizhu didn't press her and went back to preparing dicine.

The two coexisted in this slightly peculiar yet harmonious state.

A few days ago, Ningguang had sent a letter requesting several dicinal herbs.

Coincidentally, the pharmacy was out of the specific ingredients she needed, so Baizhu had planned to send Qiqi into the mountains to gather them.

However, as luck would have it, Baizhu had foreseen the incoming rain from his experience and decided to delay Qiqi's trip for a few days.

After all, Ningguang had ntioned in her letter that it wouldn't be urgent if the delivery were late.

The rainy weather also ant fewer visitors to the pharmacy, allowing a rare tranquility to settle over the place.

The croaking frogs in the courtyard, however, beca increasingly noisy, so much so that even Qiqi found it hard to sit still.

After finishing her coconut milk, she took out her notebook.

This notebook was even more important than coconut milk. Due to her poor mory, it was indispensable for ensuring her daily life could continue smoothly.

The writing inside didn't resemble the modern script of Liyue; instead, it looked similar to ancient texts from a century ago. The handwriting, though slightly childish, was neat and elegant—far superior to the author of The Illustration of the Reed Flowers, Bai-soone.

The first page of the notebook detailed her practice of soft-body exercises. Further pages described various herbs and included several Edicts.

As a zombie, even though Qiqi bore the title of an adeptus, she couldn't escape her nature. Thus, preparing Edicts was as normal for her as chanics carrying wrenches and hamrs.

Qiqi wrote everything with ticulous detail, leaving no aspect overlooked, to avoid trouble.

Additionally, there were notes on her daily tasks, such as preparing and dispensing dicine, cleaning the counter... and, of course, avoiding a certain person.

A particular section of the notebook was reserved for people she rarely saw but must not forget.

For instance, "Big Yellow Ningguang" and the extravagant "Xiao Bai" who once gifted her a whole crate of coconut milk.

"Big Yellow" aside, whenever Qiqi had free ti, she would flip to Xiao Bai's page and try to rember him in detail.

She didn't know his appearance or his voice, but according to earlier notes, they had a good relationship. Ningguang once ntioned that Xiao Bai had been her friend a long ti ago.

But Qiqi had forgotten him.

Perhaps there hadn't been a notebook back then, but now that she had one, she was determined not to forget again.

Xiao Bai was kind. She mustn't forget him.

Suddenly, the frog croaks ceased, and a group of people erged from the rain, stepping through puddles as they hurried to Bubu Pharmacy.

In their midst was a sli-powered cart, modified to serve as a wagon. The sli, docile in the rain, occasionally blinked its eyes into a playful >–< expression and gently shook off droplets of water.

Normally, magical creatures like slis weren't allowed within the city, even harmless Anemo Slis, as their explosions could create minor wind fields, causing trouble.

But this ti, Childe had stepped in, declaring that any damage caused would be reimbursed at full value, charged to his account.
