Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Manifestation Talisman
Xiaoduo ran incredibly fast. Is this little guy really a cat? Yang Qi wondered. It darted over roofs and vaulted across walls as if they were flat ground, its speed completely unlike that of a normal cat. Yang Qi quickly gave chase. He could also scale roofs and vault over walls. Although he could only use Spiritual Energy to lighten his body for now, it was still far more impressive than many so-called Qinggong techniques.
About twenty minutes later, Xiaoduo stopped in an abandoned junkyard. "ow!" it cried, burrowing into Yang Qi’s arms. They had clearly arrived. Yang Qi entered the junkyard and soon spotted a car with bloodstains on its front. He walked over and pulled a piece of Talisman Paper from his pocket. The Mystical Skill included a thod for creating such talismans. This particular one was called a Manifestation Talisman, capable of revealing the origin of traces like bloodstains. It was very difficult to make, but Yang Qi had crafted a few, thinking they might be useful. He blew a breath onto the Manifestation Talisman, and the bloodstains gradually coalesced into a phantasmal image of Qin Na. That confirms it.
"What are you doing!" a voice suddenly bood as dozens of n erged from a building in the yard.
"Who was responsible for the car accident at the entrance of the Lin Family estate?" Yang Qi asked coldly.
"Mind your own damn business, kid!" one of the n retorted, and the others frowned at Yang Qi’s question.
"It seems you know who it was, but you just don’t want to say, right?" Yang Qi stated.
"Kill him! This secret can’t get out!" one of them yelled. In an instant, the entire group charged toward Yang Qi.
Yang Qi just smiled. He hadn’t had a chance to test his strength since his Cultivation broke through to the Seventh Layer of the Qi Refining Stage. This is a perfect opportunity to have so fun.
Facing the oncoming crowd, he threw a punch. It struck with the ferocity of a wild beast, landing squarely on one of the n. The man was sent flying as if hit by a car, rocketing like a teor into a wall before crumpling to the ground. He never even had a chance to scream.
BANG!
BANG!
BANG!
Yang Qi didn’t know any formal Martial Arts, so he had no fancy moves. His attacks were brutally simple: a punch, a kick. Every punch sent a man flying; every kick left another one unconscious. In re seconds, over a dozen n were sprawled on the ground. The others were scared witless. They had never seen soone so ferocious. No, this isn’t a person. This is a living, breathing King Kong! Terrifying... absolutely terrifying!
But they didn’t back down. Convinced their sheer numbers would prevail, they pressed the attack, graduating from bare fists to wrenches and pliers as makeshift weapons. However, Yang Qi fought like a fearless, tireless warrior, only growing bolder with each passing mont. A wrench smashed against his body but seed to have no effect. He needed no weapon; his fists and feet were the most terrifying armants of all.
THUD! CRACK! BAM!
It wasn’t a fight; it was a one-sided slaughter, like a character in a hack-and-slash video ga mowing down enemies. In an instant, forty or fifty n had fallen.
The remaining n were now genuinely, thoroughly terrified. It would be strange not to be when faced with such a monster. One mont, a comrade would be rushing forward beside them; the next, he would simply be gone, knocked into oblivion. The scene was horrifying. Seeing their fallen companions lying on the ground, foaming at the mouth and twitching uncontrollably, sent a fresh wave of terror through their ranks. This isn’t a man. Even a fierce tiger isn’t this terrifying!
"Don’t be afraid, get him! I’ll kill anyone who retreats! You weren’t acting like this when we were splitting the money! He’s just one person, he must be exhausted! Just hold on a little longer!"
The leader, who must have been the driver who hit Qin Na, was the most terrified of all. He scread at the top of his lungs, but his n refused to obey and began to back away. They weren’t fools. Who would willingly charge to their death against such a monster?
Suddenly, the world fell silent. The leader looked around and realized he was the only one left standing. Everyone who had been in front of him, shielding him, was now on the ground, their faces twisted in pain, their screams filling the air. He stood there, as terrified as a helpless Little Red Riding Hood. Is this a movie? he wondered hysterically. Less than a minute had passed, and sixty or seventy n were down. Just like that.
"Y-You! Don’t co any closer!" the leader shrieked, scrambling backward until he tripped over the threshold. He let out a terrified cry, his fear reaching its absolute peak. The man before
isn’t human. He’s a demon. A devil!
SMACK!
Yang Qi appeared before him in an instant, and a hard slap cracked across his face.
"Was it you who hit Qin Na?"
"No, it wasn’t , I swear!" the man babbled, shaking his head.
SMACK!
Another slap distorted the man’s mouth. "Was it you?"
"It was ! I hit her! But I was just following orders," the man cried, kneeling on the ground in terror.
"Whose orders?" Yang Qi demanded.
"If I tell you, will you let
go?"
"You’re not in a position to negotiate. Besides, I already know even if you don’t tell ," Yang Qi said coldly. "It was Qin Tian, wasn’t it?"
The man’s eyes flickered. That was all the confirmation Yang Qi needed. He struck without hesitation, unleashing a Hand Palm Thunder that instantly incinerated the man, leaving behind only a charred husk.
"Let’s go, Xiaoduo."
Now that he knew it was Qin Tian, things were simpler. He was already planning to deal with Qin Tian to take back the company that rightfully belonged to him. Avenging Qin Na would just be a bonus.
When he returned ho, he found Qin Na’s breathing had stabilized. She had truly been pulled back from the Ghost Gate.
"Eat sothing. She’s out of danger now and might wake up any minute," Yang Qi said to Lin Qingxuan, who was sitting there in a daze.
"I have no appetite," Lin Qingxuan replied, shaking her head.
"If you don’t eat, I won’t either," Yang Qi stated.
Lin Qingxuan managed a wry smile and had the kitchen prepare a light al. The two ate together.
"It was Qin Tian’s doing," Yang Qi said after they had finished eating.
"Qin Tian!" An icy anger flared in Lin Qingxuan’s eyes. "He dares to touch my people. I won’t let him get away with it!"
"Can you leave him to ?" Yang Qi asked. "I want to personally take back what is mine. Don’t worry, I won’t let Qin Tian get away with this."
He said this because he was genuinely worried about Lin Qingxuan. Her only strong subordinate was Zhong Qiang, who was no match for Qin Tian’s forces. Qin Tian’s bodyguards were Innate experts, perhaps even stronger, while Zhong Qiang was rely an Inner Strength Warrior. He was completely outmatched.
Lin Qingxuan studied Yang Qi for a long mont before nodding. "Alright. You handle it." The identities of Uncle Jian and the others can’t be easily exposed, and they’re the only people I can use right now. Letting Yang Qi handle this might be the best option.
"If you need my help with anything, just ask," Lin Qingxuan added.
"Alright," Yang Qi nodded. There was no need for formalities between them.
