Chapter 170: Chapter 170: The Morning After Pain

The frantic energy of the night had finally subsided, replaced by the profound, deep stillness of the forest just before dawn.

Xuan Long woke up slowly. The burning heat that had consud him was gone, replaced by a comfortable, soothing warmth that emanated from his core. The first thing he registered was the soft, familiar scent of his female.

He looked down. Su Qinglan was curled tightly against his side, clinging to his arm like a lifeline. She was sleeping soundly, completely exhausted, yet breathtakingly beautiful in the pale, cool morning light that filtered into the cave.

Her lips were slightly parted, and her breath ca in soft, regular puffs. Her chest rose and fell gently with each breath. She looked utterly exhausted and asleep, without any care in the world.

A wave of warmth, deeper and more profound than the mating fever, flooded Xuan Long’s chest.

His eyes, now clear and shimring erald, softened until they were almost overflowing with tenderness. He carefully moved his arm, cradling her body more tightly against him, securing her further.

As he did, she snuggled in closer, burying her face into his neck, and mumbled sothing against his skin.

Xuan Long stilled, trying to catch the words.

"Stupid... greedy... pig," she muttered, followed by a soft, sleepy sigh.

Xuan Long chuckled, the deep, warm sound vibrating in his chest, careful not to wake her.

Even in her deepest sleep, she was still managing to curse him. He didn’t mind. After all, he was the guilty one here; if not for him...never mind.

As he was overflowing with affection and wanted to kiss her on the lips. He leaned down and gently pecked her mouth.

Just as his lips brushed hers, she muttered sothing against his chest again.

"You big... starving old man," she muttered sleepily, snuggling deeper into his arms.

Xuan Long froze instantly. His warm expression evaporated, replaced by one of profound shock. Old man? Is he that old?

He is not that old. He tried to recall his exact age, which was a vast, forgotten stretch of ti, but he couldn’t even rember the exact number. Decades? Centuries? He wasn’t sure. But "old man" sounded... really bad.

His face darkened, and he pulled her closer, the possessiveness returning. He whispered darkly into her hair, "I am not old, Lan Lan. You must have known that by today."

As if to prove his statent, he gently bit her earlobe. She responded with a soft, dissatisfied hum.

He sighed, knowing he couldn’t indulge his prideful jealousy and start a fight over his age right now. He released her and gently patted her back.

"Sleep more, and stop cursing

in your sleep," he said, his voice regaining its usual deep calm.

He then carefully rose from the stone bed, his movents precise and quiet. He needed to prepare sothing for her to eat.

A female should be especially taken care of after an intense night of mating, treated as gently as possible, and fed very well.

When Su Qinglan finally opened her eyes, the cave was filled with warm sunlight. Judging by how bright it was, it had to be almost noon. She blinked a few tis, squinting at the light and groaning softly.

Her body felt... heavy. Too heavy.

The mont she tried to move her waist, a sharp ache shot up her spine. "Ah—!" she gasped, freezing on the spot. Everything hurt. Her back, her legs, her arms... and most of all, the place that snake had pounded relentlessly last night.

Her face burned red as she gritted her teeth. "That stupid, greedy snake..." she muttered under her breath. "How can he be so strong? What did he eat for breakfast, a whole cow?"

She groaned again, clutching her stomach as she sat up slowly. "If I hadn’t threatened him last night, he probably wouldn’t have even stopped..."

The thought made her shudder. Her cheeks turned redder as she hid her face in her hands. "Ahhh... I feel like I got hit by a whole herd of rhinos," she complained weakly. "Where does this beastman get so much energy?"

She sighed, exhaling slowly to calm herself. Then she closed her eyes and started healing her body with her energy. A faint glow shimred around her hands as she focused her energy.

As the soft green light flowed from her palm, Su Qinglan suddenly felt sothing... strange.

The warmth spreading through her body was stronger than usual. Her heartbeat quickened as she realized her inner energy wasn’t just healing her; it was changing.

"Huh...?" she whispered, staring at her hand.

The glow under her skin brightened, turning from pale green to a darker green.

Her eyes widened in shock. "Wait...this feeling..."

She focused inward, testing the energy that coursed through her veins. It surged, vibrant and fierce, far more than before. Recognition hit her like lightning.

"My ability... advanced?!"

Her mouth fell open as she sat up straight, completely forgetting the pain for a mont. She could feel it clearly; her plant-type ability had advanced to Level Two.

"But how?" she muttered, frowning. "I didn’t train... I didn’t even use my powers yesterday..."

She tried to think back. The only thing she did was...

Her expression froze.

Her eyes went round as a sudden, horrifying thought struck her. "Don’t tell ..." she whispered.

Images of last night flashed through her mind. That powerful wave that exploded between them right before she passed out...

Her face turned crimson. "No way... It can’t be because of that!"

But the timing lined up too perfectly. Her energy had spiked after the mating, and the strength she felt now was definitely advanced.

She groaned and covered her face with both hands, wanting to sink into the ground. "I actually advanced from mating?!" she muttered, her voice filled with disbelief and embarrassnt. "What kind of cultivation thod is this?!"

"And why does it feel like she has actually transmigrated into a novel, where you can only advance by that...is this not the sa as those dual cultivation novels..."

"Ahh! Xuyu...you better not have scamd ."
