"What! Li Zhe is dead!"
"You killed Li Zhe?"
Upon hearing this, Ye Changyun and the Supre Elder couldn’t help but exclaim in shock as they looked toward Ye Qingchen.
Ye Qingchen nodded. "Yes."
He then recounted the events of the past month to Ye Changyun, the Supre Elder, and the others, though he omitted the part about Xiao Xiao being taken away by people from the Wuji Immortal Palace.
Listening to Ye Qingchen’s story, Ye Xiao and Ye Ying’s hearts pounded with fear. They knew that if it had been them, they would have been long dead under Li Zhe’s pursuit, let alone managing to turn the tables and kill him.
Ye Changyun and the Supre Elder exchanged a shocked glance. They had thought that without their protection, Ye Qingchen would be incredibly lucky to just escape Li Zhe. They never imagined he would actually kill him.

a special three-month vacation! For the next three months, I can stay by your side!"
Ye Changyun frowned. "Yao Yue? Wuji Immortal Palace? What kind of power is that?"
Xiao Xiao blinked her long lashes. "The Wuji Immortal Palace seems to be a Nine-Star Sect, but I’m not too clear on the details..."
"A Nine-Star Sect!" Ye Xiao and Ye Ying gasped in unison.
A Nine-Star Sect was a colossal existence that even the Qingyun Sect had to look up to. They were stunned that Xiao Xiao had encountered such a heaven-defying opportunity and been recruited by one.

Du Pengcheng had specially recruited Ye Qingchen for two primary reasons. The first was the young man’s incredible talent and combat strength. The second, and more important reason, was to use him as a bridge to get closer to Xiao Xiao. This would give the Qingyun Sect a priceless opportunity to build a connection with the Wuji Immortal Palace. Now, it seed his goal was within reach without him even having to try.
Du Pengcheng was in high spirits. He quickly led Huang Xiaoshuai, Ye Ying, Ye Qingchen, Li Teng, and their four attendants onto a carriage bound for the Qingyun Sect.

「Three days later.」
The Qingyun Sect was located on the far side of the Qingyun Mountain Range, occupying a vast territory that spanned over a hundred miles. Du Pengcheng brought Ye Qingchen’s group to the foot of the mountains where the sect resided.
"We’re here! This is the Qingyun Sect!" Du Pengcheng announced proudly, gesturing toward the sect grounds, which were shrouded in dense Spiritual Energy.
Ye Qingchen looked up. Peaks of varying heights were faintly visible through the Spiritual Energy. Countless precious, unidentifiable birds flew through the clouds, soaring over the mountaintops. The entire Qingyun Sect was like an Immortal Realm on earth.
"It’s so magnificent! Truly worthy of being the number one sect in our Northern Desolate Country!" Huang Xiaoshuai exclaid in awe. "Even though the Qingyun Sect isn’t too far from our Qingyun Town, the difference between them is like heaven and earth. There’s simply no comparison!"
At that mont, Huang Xiaoshuai felt that all his previous efforts had been worth it.
Ye Qingchen’s group followed Du Pengcheng through a massive mountain gate over a hundred feet tall and into the sect proper. As they entered, they passed other Qingyun Sect stewards leading their own newly recruited disciples.
Du Pengcheng led them around a mountain range, and a gigantic white jade plaza, so vast it seed to stretch beyond the horizon, appeared before them. Countless youths were already standing on the plaza, forming a dense, dark mass.
"These people are this year’s new recruits, just like you," Du Pengcheng explained. "Join the others in the plaza and wait. I’m going to report in and get you all registered."
After giving his instructions, Du Pengcheng walked toward the front of the plaza, where several Qingyun Sect Elders were handling the reception.
It was the first ti Ye Qingchen and Xiao Xiao had seen such a grand and imposing place. Like many of the other youths, they were filled with curiosity and excitent, looking all around.
Just then, however, a harsh shout suddenly reached everyone’s ears.
"Just ninety-ninth place in the trial tournant, and he gets to join our Qingyun Sect through special recruitnt? This is absurd!"
Everyone turned toward the voice and saw an Elder with a long, upturned white beard berating Du Pengcheng.
"I don’t care what the reason is. Unqualified is unqualified! Soone like that doesn’t et the criteria for special recruitnt! This Elder refuses to allow it! You can tell him to pack his things and get lost!"
