Chapter 463: Chapter 463: Big Sucker
The managing teacher saw Ye Qingchen’s persistence, shook his head, and kindly offered so advice. "Student, as a teacher, I must remind you that many students have purchased this sword out of curiosity. In the end, however, they all had to return it for half the price. I can see you’re new here and have worked hard to gather so many contribution points. It would be better to buy other treasures that would provide a greater boost to your power. If you’re just looking for a novelty, you can always wait until you’re stronger before buying it."
Zi Xing also tried to persuade him. "Junior Brother Ye, this mysterious sword was brought back by the Dean of our very own Ferocious Fire Academy. Even with his vast experience, he couldn’t find any special properties. It was sent here for sale only because of its sturdiness, which suggested its material might be extraordinary. I urge you to reconsider."
Although their words were well-intentioned—Zi Xing’s anxious expression making it clear she truly felt he was making a poor choice—Ye Qingchen simply smiled, shook his head stubbornly, and said, "Teacher, please swipe the Identity Token."
He handed the Divine Wood Order over again. The managing teacher sighed in defeat. "I’ll ask you one last ti: are you sure about this?"
Without a hint of hesitation, Ye Qingchen nodded. "Yes, Teacher. I’ve made up my mind!"
At that, the managing teacher stopped trying to dissuade him and returned to the counter to swipe the Identity Token.
anwhile, Zi Xing looked at Ye Qingchen, bewildered. In the span of a single day, he had now refused her three tis. This was the first ti in her life she had ever been rejected by a man, let alone three tis in one day.
But as she gazed at Ye Qingchen’s resolute expression, she felt a little dazed. Could this mysterious sword truly shine in his hands?
A mont later, the managing teacher returned with the Divine Wood Order. He then deactivated the Formation surrounding the mysterious sword, took it out, and handed it to Ye Qingchen.
Ye Qingchen grasped the sword, a distinct chill spreading through his hand. However, that feeling of a connection through his bloodline did not reappear. Was it just my imagination earlier? he wondered.
Liu Feng observed Ye Qingchen’s reaction. He assud Ye Qingchen was frowning with regret, having discovered the sword was completely ordinary after all. He laughed heartily and jeered, "Ye Qingchen, aren’t you taking the act a bit too far? Trading so many high-level Spirit Pills and Martial Techniques for contribution points, only to buy a piece of junk? There’s a limit to grandstanding, you know!"
Ye Qingchen ignored Liu Feng. He turned to the managing teacher, cupped his fists, and said, "Teacher, about what happened earlier, I truly didn’t an it. I hope you won’t hold it against ."
The managing teacher waved his hand. Since Ye Qingchen had purchased the even more expensive mysterious sword, the earlier matter of him supposedly making a fool of the teacher was now moot. Still, Ye Qingchen’s willingness to apologize left a good impression on him.
Ye Qingchen then turned to Zi Xing. "Senior Sister Zi Xing, thank you for your kind intentions just now."
Zi Xing shrugged helplessly. "But you didn’t take my advice, did you?"
"I’ve taken your kindness to heart, Senior Sister," Ye Qingchen replied with a smile, shaking his head. Although he had not accepted her help, he could see that Zi Xing genuinely cared about him. For that reason alone, if she ever needed his help in the future, he would not stand idly by.
With that, Ye Qingchen turned and walked out of the Contribution Hall with the mysterious sword in hand. As he passed the smug-looking Liu Feng, he decided to speak. "Senior Brother Liu Feng, insight is sothing not everyone possesses. I don’t mind your nonsense today; I just find it a sha, for your sake."
"Ye Qingchen, what’s that supposed to an? Are you saying I lack insight?" Liu Feng’s triumphant expression instantly turned cold, and his voice beca grim.
But Ye Qingchen just gave a faint smile and, without another word, left the Contribution Hall.
Liu Feng watched him leave, cursing under his breath. Being ignored is the greatest form of contempt, and at that mont, Liu Feng felt that scorn keenly.
Zi Xing shook her head. Compared to Ye Qingchen, Liu Feng lacked composure. She did not say anything more. Instead, she used the contribution points she had just earned to exchange for so treasures that would increase her own strength, and then she too left.
Seeing himself ignored by Zi Xing yet again, Liu Feng’s heart burned with rage. He snarled, "Ye Qingchen, I’ll rember this! Just you wait until you fall into my hands! Otherwise..."

Pleased with himself, Ye Qingchen carried the mysterious sword and headed back toward the Divine Wood Academy.
Along the way, he tried various thods, but nothing he did could make the sword resonate with him. He even tested its power and found that it offered no boost to his Spiritual Energy whatsoever.
"Looks like I really played the fool this ti," Ye Qingchen grumbled to himself as he walked. "Not only did I waste all those Spirit Pills and Martial Techniques, but I also ended up with this useless sword that only looks good! Ugh, it’s all that despicable Elder Yang’s fault. If he hadn’t tricked , I would have the Wood-Fire Twin Swords right now, and I wouldn’t have had to waste so many Spirit Pills."
He continued muttering, placing all the bla squarely on Elder Yang’s shoulders. Never one to take a loss, Ye Qingchen had already decided to get his revenge on Elder Yang the mont he saw him.
But then again, there’s Elder Yang’s heaven-defying strength... When will this life—where I can’t win a fight, can’t win an argunt, and am constantly getting tricked—ever end? He shook his head at the thought.
"Kid, why do you look so dejected after one trip down the mountain?"
To Ye Qingchen’s surprise, Elder Yang was waiting for him at the foot of the mountain. For soone as lazy as Elder Yang, this was truly unprecedented.
In truth, it was not a change of heart. Elder Yang had just rembered his blunder of giving Ye Qingchen the wrong Divine Wood Order. What if the kid, in a fit of rage, deserts the sect? When Ye Qingchen did not return after such a long ti, Elder Yang grew even more worried and finally decided to head down the mountain to check. He had not expected to run right into Ye Qingchen on his way back.
"What do you think?" Ye Qingchen snapped, his anger flaring up at the sight of Elder Yang’s slightly sleazy smile.
But knowing it was useless to argue with the old man, he could only shake his head in frustration. He hoisted the mysterious sword onto his shoulder, ignored Elder Yang, and started walking up the mountain by himself.
"No contribution points, so you ca back empty-handed, then? Haha... huh?"
Elder Yang couldn’t help but laugh at Ye Qingchen’s aggrieved expression. He was about to tease him so more when his eyes fell on the sword on Ye Qingchen’s back, and he froze on the spot.
