Chapter 80: Chapter 76: Unmanned Train
The night was as dark as ink, and the huge train seed to be completely devoured by the darkness, silently resting on the rail tracks in the wilderness.
Inside the hollow carriage, although the interior lights were on, they seed to be obscured by so sort of black curtain, and the narrow train corridor was cast in a bizarre and gloomy darkness.
It was as if the entire world had dimd.
Lin Xian stood rooted to the spot, his gaze frozen in shock. At this mont, the only sound he seed capable of hearing was his own heartbeat.
Everyone had disappeared.
A chilling sensation surged from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. Lin Xian’s eyes slowly moved, surveying his surroundings, as he dared not make a single move.
The three people who were just behind him seed to have vanished into thin air. His gaze swept toward the distant cockpit, and the corridor was pitch-black.
There were supposed to be lights there, but it seed as if the light was ruthlessly swallowed by the darkness, leaving only a weak orange glow that couldn’t reach into the depths.
Lin Xian turned his head again, looking in the direction of carriage number 2, towards the other end, where darkness prevailed.
A chill covered his back, and he tensed up, focusing intently as he called out.
"Teacher Chen?"
No response.
"Sha Sha... Building?"
There was dead silence.
Lin Xian’s gaze flickered with urgency, overwheld by the sudden situation.
Huu~
He tried to take a deep breath to steady his nerves, suppressing the fear in his heart, and took two steps forward.
Di~~dada dada
Suddenly, the sound of a glass marble rolling echoed from behind him. He spun around abruptly, and from the darkness of the distant carriage, a delicate glass marble slowly rolled out.
"Who’s there!?"
Lin Xian shouted, his voice echoing in the carriage.
There was no answer.
He walked over, his eyes on the glass marble.
Crystal clear, it had a multicolored pattern inside, much like the ones children play with.
Lights, on!
Lin Xian refused to be daunted; he was in control of the entire train, and he had definitely turned on the lights!
The overhead light seed to welco a surge of electricity for a mont, its brightness intensifying slightly, but it was quickly suppressed by the heavy darkness once more, with the light intensity reduced to very low.
He walked to carriage number 2, where KIKI’s computer screen was filled with snowflake dots, its faint fluorescent light flickering in the darkness.
A shiver ran through Lin Xian, and he turned and walked toward the cockpit. The large portholes there allowed a clearer view of the outside.
Thump~thump~thump
Clear footsteps resonated in the carriage. He walked faster and faster, then suddenly stopped.
The corner of his eye caught a glimpse of sothing.
Ahead in the corridor, there seed to be sothing floating in mid-air.
Lin Xian moved forward, his gaze intensifying, only to find dozens of hair-like strands drifting in the air above the corridor, swaying gently.
Lin Xian frowned and reached out to grab them, but the dozen or so strands flashed with the wind and disappeared.
The weird occurrences kept happening one after another. He pulled out his flashlight, and with a click, a pale beam penetrated the darkness, illuminating all kinds of chanical instrunts along the central corridor of the electric locomotive.
Lin Xian hurried through and made his way to the front. With the flashlight illuminating the way, it was empty.
He looked out the window with his flashlight. Outside was a vast expanse of snow, and ahead lay a long, dark track.
Suddenly, under the shaking light, Lin Xian saw a red figure standing on the tracks ahead.
He widened his eyes; indeed, there was a humanoid shadow standing motionless in the middle of the tracks in front of the train. Lin Xian’s brows furrowed, and he imdiately shone his flashlight there. The white light swept over, but there was nothing.
The shadow had disappeared again.
Lin Xian felt a creeping sensation at the back of his mind.
At that mont, the sound of the marble echoed again from behind.
Di~~dada dada
And this ti, the sound was just a few steps away from him.
An icy breath gently brushed against the back of Lin Xian’s head. His expression changed in an instant, as he slowly turned around.
All was pitch-black, not a soul in sight.
But in the narrow cockpit corridor, under the shadow of the lights, there seed to be an additional small dark figure.
"What is that!"
Lin Xian felt the hair on his body stand on end, and with an instinctive grip, he quickly forged a steel knife with a determined heart.
"I don’t care if you’re human or ghost!"
Backflash!
Swish!
Lin Xian clenched his teeth fiercely, suppressed by the eerie scene, and without a second word, he slashed straight at the dark shadow.
Scrape!
A shadow passed, and the sound of flesh being cleaved echoed; Lin Xian’s pupils shrank, knowing he had hit sothing, and imdiately turned around.
But at that mont, that small figure slowly walked out of the shadows into the light, revealing a little girl clutching her neck from which blood plasma was spurting, her face filled with terror as she looked at Lin Xian.
Lou Shasha!
As soon as Lin Xian saw her, his face changed dramatically, and in the blink of an eye, he saw Sha Sha fall to the ground in fear, with blood gushing out in large quantities.
"Sha..."
He just began to speak when his heart trembled, sensing sothing, and he abruptly turned around.
Behind him, a ghost in red clothes now appeared!
Beneath the black hair was a hideously decayed and eerie face, grinning strangely, seemingly only half an inch away from him.
Hiss!
Lin Xian took a sharp intake of cold breath, and with a reflexive recoil, he imdiately raised his left index finger, ready to shoot the Wind Gun!
Bam!
But in the next mont, his left index finger suddenly burst open from the fingernail, the bones flipped out, flesh torn, leaving nothing but a flap of skin still attached to his hand.
"Ugh!!"
Lin Xian gritted his teeth and let out an angry groan, horrified at his own fingers, then raised his head again, only to see the ghost in red had disappeared from in front of him.
In the distance, in compartnt number 2, a red ghostly figure eerily stood there.
Thump thump! Thump thump! Thump thump! Thump thump!
His heart beating violently, Lin Xian felt a surge of adrenaline, a sharp pain and fear engulfing him.
The terrifying scene before his eyes repeatedly assailed his psychological defenses.
Hiss!
Lin Xian looked at his exploded fingers in horror, then turned back to see the little hand on the ground in the shadows and the blood plasma all around, terror overwhelming his mind.
Had he killed Lou Shasha?!
"Sha Sha?!"
Lin Xian covered his fingers and tentatively called out, but there was no response.
He couldn’t believe the scene before him, stepped forward, but from behind the slender, bleeding body, a pale ghostly hand slowly reached out, grabbed Sha Sha’s foot, and yanked hard!
Whoosh!
Directly dragging Sha Sha’s body into the darkness.
Leaving a trail of fresh red blood stains.
Lin Xian’s scalp tingled, his mind frantically reminding him to stay calm as intense fear rapidly devoured his sanity.
The armor, Ice-breaking Shield, he’d been busy for so long, seed to have blocked nothing, and in this instant, endless despair crazily sprouted from the bottom of his heart.
The acute pain in his finger made him break out in a cold sweat, assailing his last shred of rationality.
"Sothing’s not right, sothing’s not right!"
1542 radio, mysterious disappearance, supernatural phenona, the ghost in red clothes...
The words of Jiang Yun echoed in his ears.
"But... be careful, this thing... it’s not just capable of picking up the noise made by humans..."
"What exactly is not right?"
Sigh...
A cold wind blew through the compartnt, and the surrounding lights dimd even further.
Lin Xian turned around, looked towards that ghostly figure in compartnt number 2, and as the brightness of the lights lowered, the ghostly figure seed to be getting closer.
