"Please select simulation targets."
Shen Yi looked at the system prompt, and with a thought, a na was already entered.
"Fu Nanzhi."
Seeing that the system didn't imdiately start processing, he quickly input two more nas.
"Cheng Jun." "Shu Yunyi."
The three nas appeared in sequence on the screen, their characters glowing faintly.
A surge of satisfaction rose in Shen Yi’s heart.
As expected, freely selecting targets wasn’t limited by quantity. Given the current situation, running a simulation with just one person again wouldn’t be of much use.
He needed all three to participate to et his expectations.
Once the nas were confird, the interface changed again.

The attribute list wasn’t long, but Shen Yi scrutinized each entry carefully.
He had seen Fu Nanzhi and Shu Yunyi’s profiles before, but now, with the new simulation, so of their information had changed.
Certain traits had even disappeared, replaced by new ones—all positive improvents.
It seed the lifelong simulation had significantly benefited them.
As for Cheng Jun, this was his first ti seeing her details. She had been randomly matched during the event, so her attributes hadn’t been displayed before.
Now, her stats appeared nothing short of luxurious—near-perfect charm, easily an SSR-tier rating if one existed.
[Selected: Fu Nanzhi, Cheng Jun, Shu Yunyi.]
"Anchor current targets?"
"Yes."
With a thought, Shen Yi confird the selection.
"Targets locked."
"Generating..."
"Constructing..."
The screen flickered before his eyes, its light gradually dissolving into his mind.
Whether due to the simulation seed or the number of participants, Shen Yi waited nearly twenty minutes, yet the screen still showed "constructing."
With no progress bar or buttons, he had no idea when it would finish. He could only wait silently.
After a long while with no change, Shen Yi recalled the last system upgrade, which had taken a considerable amount of ti.
He closed the system screen for now, letting it load in the background.
Glancing at his phone, he saw it was already past 2 a.m.
Shen Yi got up, used the bathroom, then lay back down on the sofa and slowly drifted to sleep.
The next morning.
Despite the late night, his well-trained biological clock woke him promptly at 7 a.m.
Sitting up on the sofa, he first listened for movent beyond the wall before standing.
Quietly pushing open the bedroom door, he approached the bed.
Overnight, the two won showed no signs of waking, sprawled in different positions under the covers.
Up close, they each clung to a corner of the blanket, still deep in sleep.
Since it was early, Shen Yi decided to let them rest a little longer and retreated.
In the bathroom, he brushed his teeth while checking the system screen.
As expected, after hours of waiting, the bottom now displayed: "Construction complete."
The text glowed—he could start the simulation with a single tap.
But he didn’t act imdiately. Now wasn’t the ti. He needed to send the two won off first.
Once the simulation began, it wouldn’t end quickly, and his real-world self would be largely unresponsive, imrsed in the process.
He couldn’t afford distractions—solitude was essential.
After finishing his routine, Shen Yi ordered breakfast via a delivery app.
Soon, a knock ca at the door. He accepted the food and set it on the table.
Now, timing it just right, he went to wake them.
Back in the bedroom, he gently shook their shoulders and whispered near their ears:
"Hey, hey, hey..."
"Ti to wake up. It’s past 8."
Fu Nanzhi let out a soft moan, rolling over drowsily with a yawn that brought tears to her eyes.
Beside her, Shu Yunyi lay on her side, her face obscured by loose hair, barely reacting to Shen Yi’s nudging.
"Hubby..."
Fu Nanzhi sat up halfway, eyes half-lidded, and reached for Shen Yi.
The ssage was clear. Sighing, he wrapped an arm around her waist and half-lifted, half-dragged her up.
"Need to pee..."
She clung to his neck, murmuring sleepily into his ear.
Resigned, Shen Yi carried her to the toilet and set her down.
Fu Nanzhi was still half-asleep, seemingly oblivious to Shu Yunyi lying beside her all night.
In the bathroom, she unselfconsciously pulled down her pants and sat, looking like she might doze off mid-task.
Shen Yi watched for a mont, listening to the sound of running water, then assured she was fine, said:
"Toiletries are on the sink."
"Co eat once you’re done. Breakfast is on the table."
"Don’t dawdle—you’ve got work today."
This was his leverage to send them off.
The Mid-Autumn holiday had lasted three days, and yesterday was the last. Today, both Fu Nanzhi and Shu Yunyi had to return to their jobs—no more lazing around his place.
"Mhm..."
Fu Nanzhi, clutching tissue paper, barely registered his words, nodding absently.
Shen Yi left, then turned to rouse Shu Yunyi.
Brushing the hair from her face, he nudged her again, calling her na.
Only then did she stir, blinking in confusion before her gaze settled on him.
Running a hand over the blanket, she sat up slowly, rubbing her temples. Her voice ca out hoarse:
"Wasn’t I on the sofa? How’d I get to bed?"
Shen Yi steadied her as she straightened, answering dryly:
"I carried you."
"You refused to go ho—where else were you supposed to sleep? The sofa’s no place for you."
Shu Yunyi pushed the covers aside.
"Where are my shoes?"
"Here."
Shen Yi crouched to retrieve them.
While she was putting on her socks and shoes, Shen Yi stepped out to fetch her a glass of water—he’d already noticed the dryness in her throat earlier.
When the cup was handed to her, Shu Yunyi took it and drained it in one go.
The sweet water soothed her throat, and she imdiately felt better, finally fully awake.
Gathering her thoughts, she glanced around and noticed only Shen Yi was present. A puzzled frown crossed her face as she asked,
“Where is she? Did she leave?”
Though she hadn’t ntioned a na, Shen Yi knew exactly who she ant. He gestured toward the outside and said,
“No, she’s in the bathroom washing up.”
Then, looking at Shu Yunyi, he added,
“Since you’re up, you should go freshen up too. Breakfast is already ordered.”
“Do you have classes at the university today?”
The reminder made Shu Yunyi frown. She smoothed her hair, thinking for a mont before nodding.
“Just one.”
Shen Yi pulled the hair clip he’d taken off her the night before from his pocket and handed it to her, saying,
“Then I’ll drive you back to campus later.”
