Chapter 48: Chapter 46: Born to Fight

The next morning.

The sky was dim and filled with dark clouds, and a light rain fell intermittently.

Under the watchful eyes of the Cultivators, Fang Yang and Le Shiyu stepped onto the arena platform, standing far apart from each other.

Le Shiyu wore blue armor and held a flexible whip, her expression icy.

But her Pet Beast, a Rain Swift, was incredibly active. This weather allowed them to fully unleash their power.

Fang Yang, on the other hand, was clad in silver dragon-scale armor and held a crimson battle spear. He stood tall, like a sword or a spear himself, radiating a heroic aura.

Anyone who saw him would have their eyes light up and call him a young general in silver armor.

Behind him, his Pet Beast, the White Feathered Eagle, hovered in the air, standing proudly with him in the center of the arena.

In terms of sheer presence and appearance, Fang Yang had a slight edge over Le Shiyu.

Before the battle had even begun, the crowd’s sentint was already leaning toward Fang Yang.

"Fang Yang," Le Shiyu called out. "It seems even the heavens are on my side. Your journey ends here."

"CHIRP..." The Rain Swift flapped its wings, resonating with a small dark cloud above them, and the raindrops began to fall more rapidly.

"Soone might stop , but it certainly won’t be you," Fang Yang said, his face devoid of expression. He thought of Sen Wei.

The White Feathered Eagle by his side suddenly let out a long, unending cry. Its wings beat furiously, creating wave after wave of wind.

CLANG—

The next mont, with the sound of a bronze gong, the battle officially began.

BANG! A blue light erupted from the Rain Swift’s wings. It transford into a streak of blue and shot straight up into the sky.

It intended to use its unique racial abilities, using its Bloodline Power to command the dark clouds and strike its enemy!

This was an ability the White Feathered Eagle definitely did not possess.

But the White Feathered Eagle was no pushover.

Its days of arduous training and Fang Yang’s dedicated cultivation had long since honed its profound and mysterious intuition.

Its straightforwardness ant it excelled at direct confrontations.

Its dullness ant it wouldn’t overthink things and would simply follow orders.

As long as Fang Yang’s commands were correct, the White Feathered Eagle’s combat prowess was enough to astonish anyone.

WHOOSH! A fiery light flickered in the White Feathered Eagle’s eyes. Flas engulfed its wings, burning fiercely.

With a powerful flap, it left multiple afterimages of scorching flas in the air.

The flas were like a mist, and an orange-yellow glow instantly appeared in the dim world.

What was even more shocking was that this orange-yellow glow actually caught up to the streak of blue. It overtook its target despite starting later, and the two began to entwine!

"Is that still a White Feathered Eagle?"

"Unbelievable. Simply unbelievable."

"If it were a Fire Eagle, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Rain Swift being suppressed. But this is just a re White Feathered Eagle."

"A White Feathered Eagle is only a Tier Two variant, while a Rain Swift is a Tier Four variant. In terms of Bloodline Power alone, the Rain Swift should be the one dominating the White Feathered Eagle."

"Well done, White Feathered Eagle! That’s it, keep suppressing that little Rain Swift..."

At this mont, onlookers like Chen Xing, Zhang Ye, and Cyan Aura were utterly shocked.

On the platform, Le Shiyu’s expression changed drastically, her heart tightening.

Although her elders had warned her and she had ntally rehearsed this scenario, she still found it hard to accept now that it was actually happening.

’This White Feathered Eagle is just a lower-tier substitute for a Fire Eagle. On what grounds can it suppress my Rain Swift?’

"Fang Yang, don’t get cocky!" Le Shiyu’s gaze turned cold in an instant. The Long Whip in her hand lashed out like a venomous python—insidious and vicious.

But Fang Yang just sneered. He swung his crimson battle spear, and flas wrapped in lightning erupted, spreading a tyrannical aura.

BAM! The flexible and insidious Long Whip was locked in place by his battle spear.

An invisible shockwave rippled out from the point of contact between the spear and whip, spreading in all directions. The bluestone platform shattered inch by inch, turning to dust.

Suddenly, Fang Yang retracted his strength, allowing the spear and whip to separate.

In the thick dust, Fang Yang’s figure flickered like lightning, darting through it at high speed, causing Le Shiyu’s face to drain of color.

Before Le Shiyu’s eyes, a spark of electricity suddenly blood.

The spark grew brighter and brighter until it completely blinded her.

Fang Yang’s battle spear shot forward, aid straight at Le Shiyu’s shoulder guard. The impact sent her flying backward, her flesh torn and mangled.

Le Shiyu’s consciousness faded. She only felt as if she were flying.

In reality, Fang Yang had pierced through her shoulder guard with his spear and brutally lifted her into the air.

Rain fell from the sky; blood dripped from the spear.

The blood and water mixed, becoming indistinguishable.

The victor was decided.

With this, Fang Yang successfully entered the top eight and could participate in the second stage of the grand competition to vie for the title of champion.

Fang Yang continued his charge toward the top bracket, toward the champion’s throne!

"Hiss..."

The spectators outside the arena gasped, shocked by Fang Yang’s cold brutality.

No matter how you looked at her, Le Shiyu was a beauty.

In the future, as she grew up, she would surely beco even more refined and elegant.

But this bastard Fang Yang showed no rcy to a beautiful woman. He simply took the most direct path to victory.

"Hmph. Putting on an act. If you’ve got guts, fight ," Chen Yuan snorted with disdain, though her gaze remained fixed on Fang Yang.

"Such presence and temperant, combined with thods that border on the Demon Dao... He truly stands out among the scions of the Golden Clan. No wonder Sen Hui is so infatuated with him," Hong Qishang remarked thoughtfully.

’He’s becoming more and more like Ancestor Fang Nian... No, he’s even a bit more ruthless than our ancestor was,’ Second Uncle Fang sighed internally. ’Could this be the path every mber of the Fang Clan must walk to achieve sainthood?’

Even the spectators could sense Fang Yang’s unique fighting style, let alone Le Shiyu.

Fang Yang’s cold eyes had left an indelible impression on Le Shiyu’s heart.

In the end, Le Shiyu pinned all her hopes on Cyan Aura. If Cyan Aura couldn’t defeat Fang Yang, she would truly fall into despair!

...

At the White Feathered Eagle’s garrison, people were bustling about.

Everyone had a different task, and the place was very busy.

Even inside the White Feathered Eagle’s command tent, everyone was preoccupied with their own duties.

At this mont, Fang Yang stood silently to the side, watching the White Feathered Eagle being held by Seventh Uncle Fang.

"Strange. Truly strange."

Seventh Uncle Fang clicked his tongue in amazent.

"This little one has certainly gotten a bit stronger. But it’s not purifying its bloodline to revert to a Fire Eagle. Instead, it’s using its own White Feathered Eagle bloodline to devour the Fire Eagle Essence Blood. In other words, it intends to reach the summit in the body of a White Feathered Eagle..."

’No need to revive my ancestors, I will surpass them?’

’Or is it like in *Pokémon*, where Pikachu refuses to evolve into Raichu to stay with Ash?’

For so reason, a series of complex thoughts flashed through Fang Yang’s mind.

But he knew that the strange transformation happening to the White Feathered Eagle was definitely related to that [Manifestation of Fortune]!

He also knew that the best path of growth for the White Feathered Eagle was through constant battle.

To rise from the flas of war—this was a Pet Beast born for battle!

At the sa ti, Fang Yang inexplicably thought of the Secret Technique he had used to ta the White Feathered Eagle.

’Could it be that I made a mistake back then?’

Thinking of this, Fang Yang took a deep breath.

’It seems that when I ta the Small Frost Horse later, I’ll need to cultivate the Secret Technique to a very, very profound level.’

...

Not long after Fang Yang defeated Le Shiyu, the remaining brackets also gradually determined their strongest combatants.

And with that, the first stage of the competition ca to an end.

The list of the top eight seeds was announced, and Fang Yang was ranked third!

The two people ahead of him were Cyan Aura and a woman nad Lin Tianxue. Cyan Aura was first, and Lin Tianxue was second.

This was the grand military competition. Although it was only a contest between those at the Tier One realm, its influence spread across the entire Changkong clan—which was one-eighth of the Xuan Domain.

Under these circumstances, the fa of Cyan Aura, Lin Tianxue, Fang Yang, and the others spread at a terrifying speed.

Now, everyone knew that the Fang Clan had produced an incredibly dazzling prodigy—Fang Yang!

As for the rivalry between Fang Yang and Zhang Ye, it was gradually being forgotten.

No one ntioned it anymore, because Zhang Ye hadn’t even made it into the top eight!

Sotis, when Fang Yang and Second Uncle Fang went out, people would even take the initiative to greet Fang Yang, holding him in high esteem.

This was a rare occurrence. In the past, while Fang Yang had so minor fa, it was always tied to Sen Hui.

Because of this, the people of the Changkong clan had viewed Fang Yang with utter disdain, believing he was falsely claiming to be the ’second Carp Eagle’ and was unworthy of their respect!

But now, things were truly different.

Ever since Fang Yang had reached the top eight, it was clear that he was no longer just known in connection with Sen Hui. He was recognized in his own right and had earned the respect of others.

In other words, Fang Yang’s status had risen!

Faced with this change, Fang Yang’s heart remained as calm as an ancient well.

Second Uncle Fang, however, was ecstatic. The extrely weak Fang Clan desperately needed a talented junior to restore its reputation.

On the righteous path, a good reputation was a reflection of one’s strength!
