She couldn’t be bothered to quibble with Guo Yun, moreover, as Xiang Youyou had apologised, she curiously asked, "What were you asking Hongwei about?"
Xiang Youyou spoke honestly: "Well, we wanted to ask Mr. Gu about soone."
Xiang Youyou didn’t initially want to bring this up after finding out about Guo Jinnian’s identity, but if she didn’t ntion it at this point, Guo Jinnian might misunderstand and think she was here for Mr. Gu as well.
If she was also mistaken for a romantic rival, it would not bode well for her family’s business.
After all, Guo Jinnian isn’t just a figurehead bearing the title of Mr. Gu’s fiancée.
She is also Gu Hongwei’s fiancée.

"Who are you asking about?" Guo Jinnian grew more curious.
"We just wanted to know if Mr. Gu knows soone nad Cheng Feng." Afraid that Guo Jinnian might overthink, she quickly clarified: "It’s not
who wants to know. My father asked
to inquire about this."
Gu Hongwei knitted his eyebrows, "What are you asking him about?"
There were no business ties between Cheng Feng’s business and the Xiang family.
Xiang Youyou shook her head, "I’m not quite sure."
Guessing that Gu Hongwei indeed knew Cheng Feng but seed unwilling to talk about it, Xiang Youyou tactfully refrained from probing further.

Their intentions were pretty obvious and Gu Hongwei had noticed them; hence, he explained in order to prevent a misunderstanding with Guo Jinnian.
Guo Jinnian snorted, "I’ve t them before. Yaoyao and I were shopping for clothes when they went out of their way to cause trouble. We got into an argunt and they even tried to have soone beat us up."
Hearing this, Gu Hongwei frowned, "They tried to have soone attack you?"
"Yes," Guo Jinnian replied, "Although I wasn’t scared at the ti, Yaoyao didn’t want to cause any trouble, so we left."
Gu Hongwei said, "Yaoyao did the right thing. You should not act impulsively either. Although they can’t beat you, if they outnumber you, you’re the one who will suffer."
Gu Hongwei deeply believed in the saying, "there is always soone better". He didn’t want Guo Jinnian to be hurt.
Guo Jinnian scoffed, "They dare to touch ?"

Gu Hongwei was helpless. He was only being verbose because he was worried about Guo Jinnian.
Seeing that she didn’t like to listen, he quickly changed the topic: "I’m going to be quite busy these next few days. Buy more candy tomorrow, then I’ll give the candy to Xiaozheng to distribute to the staff."
