Chapter 490: Chapter 490: Do You Think They Followed Us?

Shi Yan frowned, thinking that Lin Man still didn’t understand Scar-Face’s true nature. To prevent Lin Man from offending Scar-Face when they got off the train, he warned her.

"Don’t provoke him unnecessarily. He’s not a good person. I give him money to keep the peace. If we don’t, he’d make trouble for us based on his past behavior," said Shi Yan.

It would be impossible to guard against Scar-Face if he decided to deal with them. Shi Yan didn’t want to jeopardize their newfound peace for such trivial matters.

In short, the goods he was bringing back could easily cover the paynt for Scar-Face.

As for Tong Yao, he just had to say that she was lucky this ti.

Lin Man sneered, disdainfully saying, "You’re still the sa old coward."

Shi Yan was not pleased and retorted, "What do you know? I give Scar-Face money not because I’m afraid of him, but because we might still need him in the future. Tong Yao might co back to this business, and she might not be so lucky next ti."

At his words, Lin Man’s expression softened slightly.

"You do have so brains."

She turned over, settling herself comfortably, "I’m going to sleep for a bit. Don’t bother . I’ve not had a good rest in days, my body aches from sitting so much on the train."

"Alright, go ahead and get so sleep! I’ll wake you for dinner later," Shi Yan said.

They had the entire compartnt to themselves. He made sure all their possessions were stored securely and the door was locked. This ensured their security.

Lin Man just ignored him and fell asleep. Her eyelids felt heavy from the lack of sleep in the past few days.

Shi Yan also wanted to sleep but a sudden stomachache interrupted his plan. As he erged from the restroom, he spotted a man smoking in the hallway. He recognized the man as the one Lin Man had bumped into earlier. He wondered why the man had followed them here.

He didn’t see the man earlier when they were unloading goods from the train. Could it be that this man rode the train just for the experience?

Feeling disturbed, Shi Yan returned to the compartnt, locked the door, and made sure everything was okay before lying back down.

After weeks of poor sleep, Shi Yan succumbed to the wave of sleepiness that washed over him.

Lin Man woke up soti later to find that it was already dark. She checked her watch – it was already nine o’clock at night.

She realized she had missed dinner and was annoyed to discover that Shi Yan had overslept and failed to buy dinner. Lin Man glared at the still sleeping Shi Yan, opened the door, and left to use the restroom.

Two n were standing outside the restroom, speaking in low voices. Lin Man entered the restroom, giving them a disdainful glance. When she ca out again, the two n were still there, smoking. She coughed from the smoke and glared at them unhappily.

The man who had bumped into Lin Man earlier seed to snarl at her, wanting to teach her a lesson. However, his companion held him back with a glance, signaling him not to cause trouble.

When Lin Man returned to her compartnt and saw Shi Yan still sleeping, she was furious. She shook him awake without a word.

"All you do is sleep, don’t you even know it’s past alti?"

At her words, Shi Yan woke up abruptly. Checking his watch and seeing that it was indeed past nine, he rubbed his face and said, "I’ve been so tired these past few days, I overslept. Here, have so of the stead buns left over from breakfast to hold you over. I’ll buy you sothing good to eat tomorrow."

Lin Man rolled her eyes contemptuously, "Who would want to eat these buns that sll like stinky feet?"

Shi Yan didn’t force her, "If you don’t want to eat, go back to sleep. I’ll definitely wake up in ti to buy you breakfast tomorrow."

"Besides saying that, what else can you do?" Lin Man glared at Shi Yan.

Shi Yan wore a good mood after earning so money, so he didn’t take offense. Instead, he simply grabbed a bun and gobbled it down. Right after eating, he fell asleep due to his fatigue.

Lin Man also felt tired, so she went back to sleep after sitting for a while.

They slept until late morning, missing breakfast once again. Lin Man remained upset and didn’t talk to Shi Yan until they had lunch at noon.

That afternoon, Lin Man ran into the sa two n near the restroom. She found it strange that they seed to haunt her everywhere. This ti, Lin Man was even more hostile towards the two n, and shot them a few hard glares.

Upon returning to the compartnt, she asked Shi Yan, "Have you noticed the two n near the restroom? Why did they follow us here?"

Shi Yan was startled by her words, "You think they followed us?"

Originally, Lin Man had ant it as a casual remark, but seeing Shi Yan’s serious reaction, she silently cursed him for being a coward.

"If they didn’t co to unload goods, then why take this train?"

Shi Yan’s expression turned gloomy. After a mont’s thought, he suggested, "We have spare beds here. I can arrange for them to stay in our compartnt."

"Are you sane?" Lin Man stopped him, "With those n in the sa compartnt, how am I supposed to sleep? Besides, you think these compartnts are cheap? We’re just a few days from ho. Why waste money on them when we can simply lock the door at night?"

Those n had stinky feet, and Lin Man couldn’t bear it any longer.

Moreover, they were her employees. Why should they receive the sa treatnt as her?

Reflecting on her words, Shi Yan gave up on the idea of moving the other n into their compartnt. He locked the door and lay down on the bed.

After a few uneventful hours, and dinner ti passed, nothing unusual had occurred. The train’s rhythmic "rumble" echoed around them. After abstaining for a few days and seeing Lin Man on the opposite bed, Shi Yan was feeling amorous.

He had never done it on a train, and the idea seed titillating.

Lin Man saw the look in his eyes and imdiately understood his intentions. She scolded, "Don’t even think about it. You sll from not taking a bath for days."

His solution was simple, "I’ll go rinse off."

Saying that, Shi Yan exited the compartnt with a cheerful expression. He returned later looking unkempt, closed the compartnt door, and slipped into Lin Man’s blanket. Whilst initially reluctant, Lin Man gradually yielded to his advances.

It had been a while since they had been together. Lin Man felt moved to so extent. They were on a train which added an unusual sense of novelty and excitent, and she found herself more cooperative than usual.

Shi Yan was very satisfied with Lin Man’s reaction.
