Chapter 977: Chapter 977: Hero Saves the Beauty
As soon as the door opened, Matthew Saxon imdiately rushed inside.
When he reached the edge of the pool, the scene before him left him stunned for several seconds.
Scarlett Yates was lying on the edge of the hot spring pool, not wearing a single piece of clothing, her face full of terror, her eyes red from crying.
Because of the fright, her face was ghostly pale, her eyes wide open, filled with fear.
Her body was trembling gently, and her eyes, brimming with panic, were staring as if facing a formidable enemy at the snake coiled around her calf.
Matthew imdiately recognized it as a non-venomous pet snake, not knowing whose it was, that had slipped into the bath.
Seeing that the snake was non-venomous, he let out a huge sigh of relief.
But it was different for Scarlett; she was scared to death.
Whether it was a pet snake or any other snake, venomous or not, to her, it was a nightmare in any form.
The snake, as thick as two thumbs together, had beautiful patterns on its body and was tightly coiled around Scarlett’s leg. Neither she nor the snake moved a bit.
The two faced off like that.
Scarlett was trembling all over, her face ashen, her hands shaking uncontrollably in fear.
The snake raised its head, occasionally flicking out a red tongue.
"Matthew Saxon, there’s a snake here, it’s terrifying, quickly find a way to get it off ." Matthew’s sudden entrance didn’t make Scarlett feel the slightest bit shy; instead, she felt like she’d seen a savior.
At this mont, she was so scared by the snake she was practically out of her mind, unable to think of anything else.
All she wanted was to get the snake off her quickly; heaven knows the animal she’s feared most since childhood is this soft, cold snake.
Even just seeing one would make her feel a tingling all over, let alone having it wrapped around her leg.
"Don’t be afraid, this snake isn’t venomous. I’ll get it off you." Right now, Matthew’s self-control was being tested like never before. It wasn’t easy to suppress those untad thoughts. It took a lot of effort for him to barely control himself and not look at other parts of her body.
He took a few deep breaths and walked toward her.
Seeing her scared, crying, and trembling, looking at him pitifully, he suddenly felt the thrill of "the hero saving the beauty."
For Matthew, the snake was as non-threatening as an earthworm. After getting close to Scarlett, he crouched down and reached out toward her leg.
Scarlett was very nervous.
Her body seed to be tense, and as Matthew reached out to grab the snake, she was even more nervous than he was, holding her breath, not daring to make a sound as she watched.
Matthew pinched the snake at its seven-inch point, and with a lift of his hand, it imdiately loosened its tight grip on her.
Matthew threw the snake onto the grass, and it slithered away with a rustling sound.
"All right, all right, it’s okay now, see? I’ve already removed the snake." After Matthew removed the snake from her calf, he noticed two red spots of blood on Scarlett’s leg.
Scarlett said, aggrieved, "Matthew, I think I got bitten by the snake."
Looking at the bloody marks on her leg, Matthew’s face suddenly darkened.
The little creature actually dared to bite her; he should have caught it and made snake soup out of it at night.
