Chapter 971: Chapter 971: Sooner or Later, She’ll Be His

Can you dodge sothing forever?

Anyway, sooner or later, she would be his.

For so matters, Matthew Saxon, although willing, was in no rush.

With soone like Scarlett Yates, who was the slow-burn type, things progressing too quickly could backfire.

If he were to have her, it had to be with her wholehearted willingness.

Matthew Saxon cut the remaining steak into small pieces, and after finishing, pushed it to the spot next to him: "Co over, you said you were hungry, so eat up. You must finish this steak, no leftovers allowed."

Scarlett Yates saw that he no longer looked at her with that flirtatious and intense gaze and slowly moved to the table.

Matthew Saxon didn’t make any more moves on her, he took another plate of steak to his table, picked up his knife and fork, and began dining seriously.

This dinner left Scarlett Yates very full.

The Saxon Family’s chef was remarkable; the steak was tender and fragrant, and the soup was delicious and flavorful.

Scarlett Yates, having just recovered from a cold, also had a good appetite, surprisingly eating two steaks and finishing her bowl of soup.

Seeing her eat so much, Matthew Saxon seed in a good mood, for once extrely rare, praised the chef a couple of tis.

Thinking about it, the chef responsible for Western cuisine at the Saxon Family hadn’t received any praise from his employer for several years. When soone passed Matthew’s complints to him, it delighted him greatly.

After dinner, Scarlett Yates suggested she needed a walk in the garden to help digest.

Matthew Saxon nodded and said, "I’ll join you then."

Matthew Saxon wasn’t in the habit of post-dinner walks.

The Saxon Family’s garden, sprawling like a park but far more beautifully landscaped, was mostly for show.

Usually, after als, everyone would retreat to their rooms, and only May Denton often took walks in the garden.

If Roy Saxon were free, he would sotis accompany her, but most of the ti, even at ho, he had so business affairs to handle.

Seymour’s big corporation ant there were at least dozens of issues daily for Roy Saxon to deal with; so didn’t necessarily need his direct involvent, but he needed to be inford.

Having recently returned to the company, Matthew Saxon had even more to manage. Just dealing with the shareholders who once supported Maxwell Saxon was a headache.

In fact, eager to return earlier to accompany Scarlett Yates, his work pace was much faster than usual. After handling the most important matters, he rushed back.

He initially planned to bring so work ho, intending to go to the study after dinner with Scarlett Yates, but now, he was reluctant to leave.

He just wanted to spend more ti with her; those dull docunts couldn’t compare to her delightful presence.

--

In the Saxon Family’s back garden.

In the evening, the street lamps were lit, each European-style lamp connected to the next, casting a warm yellow glow on the pebbled paths, stretching the shadows of Scarlett Yates and Matthew Saxon long.

In the shrubbery, there were so winter-blooming flowers planted, one of which Scarlett Yates recognized as the poinsettia, blooming in clusters like fire, vibrantly.

The garden was very quiet.

Besides their breathing and footsteps, there were only the sounds of birds and insects.

The moonlight tonight was quite nice, with a half-moon hanging in the night sky, emitting a clear white glow.
