Chapter 938: Chapter 938: Why Should I Still Care About Her

The woman in the photos is indeed Scarlett Yates, he is very certain.

If it weren’t for being captured in so many photos, he wouldn’t have dared to believe that the woman who claid she wanted to marry him would go on a mountain trip with Maxwell Saxon.

He almost died at the hands of Maxwell Saxon.

After narrowly escaping death, the first thing he did was to inquire about her whereabouts.

Later, he found out that she was in Fort City. He was planning to have soone bring her back to him when he saw the news of her trip to the mountain with Maxwell Saxon.

He was worried she might be afraid alone in Fort City, unable to take care of herself, and was eager to bring her back. Yet, what awaited him was the news of her rrily being with another man.

In the photos, her radiant smile was like a long thorn, deeply piercing into his heart.

His chest felt heavy and uncomfortable, with a sense of breathlessness as if a heavy weight was pressed against his chest, suffocating him.

He picked up the discarded newspaper again, tightly clutching it, his eyes fixed on the photos. The longer he stared, the colder his gaze beca, his somber face full of fury.

"Young Master, maybe what’s in the news isn’t true. You know how these dia reporters love to fabricate stories. Maybe Miss Yates has so unavoidable reasons..." George also saw the news and cautiously comforted Matthew Saxon when he saw Matthew’s face darkened with rage.

Matthew Saxon pressed his lips tightly, crumpled the newspaper into a ball, and sneered, "Scandal, rumors? It seems to

she is willingly involved; is there any sign she’s being coerced?"

If she was truly forced or threatened, could she smile so happily?

This is what infuriated Matthew Saxon the most.

He also didn’t want to believe she could be so heartless, but the reality was right in front of him, leaving nothing more to say.

Earlier, when Uncle Thompson called, he heard her crying. When she called his na, she sounded so aggrieved and helpless.

If it were before, he would have felt sorry for her, comforted her, but thinking of her actions, all the compassion in his heart turned into anger he couldn’t vent.

This news made him feel all his previous worries were in vain.

While he was worrying for her, she lived much better than he imagined.

Going to the mountain together?

Building snown, having snowball fights, skiing together?

Great, these things sound so romantic and sweet.

Even he hadn’t done these things with her, yet she had done them with Maxwell Saxon.

And she was smiling so happily, so joyfully...

The deeper he thought about it, the more stifled he felt, as if there was a breath stuck there, which would beco increasingly uncomfortable if not vented.

He fiercely slamd the crumpled newspaper onto the ground and pounded his tightly clenched fist on the coffee table.

The glass coffee table shook a little, and the coffee in the cup spilled everywhere.

"Why should I care about such a heartless woman?"

His words seed directed at George, but were also like he was questioning himself.

"Whether she’s with Uncle Thompson or with May Denton, what does it have to do with ? Since she doesn’t care about my feelings, why should I care about hers?"

Although his words sounded heartless, George knew they were rely spoken out of anger.

Otherwise, when he heard Scarlett Yates was in Uncle Thompson’s hands, his face wouldn’t have changed instantly, and he wouldn’t have agreed to Uncle Thompson’s request without hesitation.
