Chapter 1074: Glasses
Anthony stood silently for a mont; he sighed as he shook his head. Despite holding back to the Origin Mana Rank, these so-called assassins barely survived two attacks each, their fragility almost laughable under his restrained might. Anthony was sowhat disappointed, montarily forgetting that they seed weak simply because he was far too overpowered for opponents of such a level.
’In novels I read in my past life on Earth, assassins were always strong and all that; how co they are just glass-cannon mobs here?’ Anthony thought to himself as he sighed yet again, his expectations clashing with the rather underwhelming reality before him.
’Maybe I should have held back even more, maybe five Mana Ranks lower?’ he thought to himself as he stood in silence, contemplating his own overwhelming strength. ’Well, I hope another set of assassins co.’ He shook his head and glanced at the Werewolf corpse before him; then his eyes shifted in another direction, the direction where the Zombie assassin had been, but nothing but a grotesque pulp of flesh remained of him, scattered and unrecognizable.
Out of the four assassins, only the Werewolf had his full body intact, as the rest no longer had any discernible corpse to speak of. With that, he turned and began to walk away without hesitation, his steps calm and unhurried. Anthony couldn’t help but wish these so-called Angels would attack faster so he could have so semblance of amusent, as the current pace of events did little to entertain him.
’On a second thought, why not just take the battle to the Divinora Galaxy?’ Anthony thought to himself as he walked, his mind already drifting toward more efficient alternatives. Although it might seem impossible for others to cross galaxies, it was effortlessly simple for him. Using the Authority of Severance as a link, he could simply teleport there without any strain or difficulty.
’I should have proposed this before everyone went into seclusion; we would have begun the battle imdiately,’ Anthony thought, shaking his head in mild exasperation at his own delayed realization, as the idea now seed so obvious in hindsight.
’Well, whatever,’ he thought in finality, then shot into the sky as he flew towards the direction where the others were waiting, his figure cutting through the air with astonishing speed. Within a few seconds, he arrived and landed atop the aircraft with precise control, as though such feats were second nature to him.
Tiara, Rider, Bryan, and Bringer simply stared at Anthony with expressionless faces for a mont before collectively sighing. They had seen the battle between Anthony and the assassins, and indeed, what had just occurred could hardly be classified as a battle, but rather a completely one-sided massacre devoid of any real resistance.
"Even Origin Mana Rankers are no different from babies to you," Bryan couldn’t help but comnt as he took off the glasses he was wearing, his tone laced with disbelief.
Anthony smiled as he replied, "Bryan, expecting an Origin Mana Ranker to keep up with
is like expecting an F- Mana Ranker to keep up with you," Anthony explained as he sat down atop the aircraft with casual ease. "Below the Planetary level, everyone is simply no different from an F-rank; at the Planetary level, you can effortlessly one-shot everyone below the Apexus Mana Rank," he stated in finality, his words carrying a quiet certainty.
’Well... unless they are anomalies like , Aura Nova, Aaaninja, and Lucian,’ Anthony thought to himself without saying anything out loud, his expression remaining unchanged.
"The more I see you, the more I want to get to the Apexus Mana Rank as quickly as possible," Tiara stated as she gazed at the ten-kilotre-wide crater that had been created when the Zombie Anthony struck down from the sky, the sheer scale of destruction reflecting vividly in her eyes. Her gaze then shifted to the side, where the Elf had died to a lightning arrow, the remnants of that encounter still evident.
"The question isn’t about getting to the Planetary level, Tiara," Rider spoke in a calm and asured tone. "The question is, can we replicate the feats Anthony is displaying when we reach the Apexus Mana Rank?" he stated as he gazed at the sky, his eyes settling on the moon as evening had already set in, considering they had been engaged throughout the entire day.
"Indeed, after all, there are many Apexus Mana Rankers, my father, Rider’s father, the Blood Queen, yet none of them have done what Anthony has done... well, at least not openly," Bryan stated with composed calmness, his thoughts clearly weighing the disparity.
Tiara fell silent without another word, her thoughts lingering on the overwhelming gap in strength that seed almost insurmountable.
"Can I keep these glasses?" Bringer asked, completely unbothered by Anthony’s display of strength; to him, such overwhelming power was no longer surprising, but rather expected.
"I was about to ask the sa thing. I an, artefacts that allow us to keep up with the speed of those at the Origin Mana Rank are insane," Rider added as he took off the glasses and held them in his hand, gazing at them with unmistakable amazent.
These were the sa pair of glasses Anthony had shared between Reynold, Seraphim, and the rest of his Military teammates, so they could keep up with the spar between him and Kingsley.
Anthony had given them the glasses before he fought with the assassins. Since they were only at the King Mana Rank and Emperor Mana Rank, their perception couldn’t keep up with the speed and intensity of battles fought at the Origin Mana Rank, which was far beyond their level of comprehension.
"You can have them; just don’t use them for your own personal battles," Anthony stated. He didn’t give any further advice; anyone who wished to abuse the artefact could do so if they desired, but it would only result in consequences for them later down the line.
"Seriously, how do you even have all of this? I an, it’s all too much. I’m not even sure even the ancient civilizations I’ve read and heard about from my father possess this many things," Bryan couldn’t help but comnt as his own special artefact glasses vanished into his space ring, his curiosity evident.
Anthony didn’t reply; he knew Bryan’s question was rhetorical in essence, so there was no need to respond, not that he intended to, even if Bryan had been entirely serious.
"It seems whenever any of you leave your various Domains, you get attacked," Anthony spoke as his long white hair danced gently to the rhythm of the night wind, his tone calm yet observant.
"Not only outside our Domains, even inside our own Domains, we still get attacked," Tiara clarified, her expression slightly tired.
Anthony arched an eyebrow. "Well, that’s surprising. I thought your races would be united," he stated in a mildly surprised tone, though his curiosity was evident.
"Well... we are," Bringer spoke before anyone else could respond. "It’s just that no Domain thrives in isolation; they require other Domains for one resource or another. So we end up opening our borders to mbers of other races, and hence... more trouble," he concluded as he sat down with a slight shake of his head, his words carrying a quiet resignation.
