“There’s also the ‘Edwards’ Ascension Technique.’ I suspect this is actually the na the diviner gave to the Chosen One Ceremony. Lastly, there’s the thod to enter another island.”
Shard supplented, and after so discussion, the three decided to first divine the whereabouts of the remaining five keys. Information about Maria Edwards might not be crucial, and Shard felt that there were many clues to investigate the thod of entering the island. Besides, the Prophet’s Society was also working hard on this. As for the Ascension Technique and the diviner’s plan, they might require consuming too many coins due to possible involvent with the Chosen One.
So, one of the brand-new coins Iluna brought was tossed into the air, turning into flying ashes before it landed in front of Luviya. The purple-eyed girl opened her eyes, a thoughtful expression on her face:
“Interesting, three of the remaining five keys are fully ford. One is in the hands of the Tyranny Club, one with the Dragon Feast Cult, which should refer to those two Edwards cultists. The last fully ford one is with the Truth Society. Through divination, it was seen that they traded it from the soul of the last town cetery guardian after they landed on the island.”
This thod was consistent with how gan and Shard exchanged keys from the blacksmith and the mineralogist.
“What about the two that aren’t fully ford yet?”
“One clue is on the island, the other off the island. Specifically, the one on the island is not inside the island but subrged underwater at the edge covered by white mist, hidden within the spirit of the forr Green Lake Town boatman. The clue outside the island is in the hands of the last mayor of Green Lake Town’s descendants.”

Iluna questioned Shard in confusion:
“The mayor of Green Lake Town, isn’t he from the Edwards Family?”
“No, the mayor and the lord are different concepts. However, it has been over a hundred years since Green Lake Town was abandoned, and the Edwards of the fifth and sixth generations probably don’t know who the mayor was back then.”
“No matter, I’ve divined it. I also divined the position of the boatman’s corpse underwater.”
Luviya said with a smile:
“Divinations to find things, especially when detailed information is known to narrow down the search range, are the simplest. As for the underwater clue, Shard will need to go in person, and as for the mayor’s descendants, they currently reside in the City of Glass across the lake. A coin was tossed into the air, but nothing happened. After further discussion, Luviya simultaneously threw a [chanical Blessing] and a [Wraith Iron Coin] into the air.
The two coins disintegrated into flying ashes in the air. Luviya opened her eyes, eting Shard and Iluna’s inquisitive gaze:
“The results aren’t very clear, but it can be confird that the Chosen of Space Ceremony is only part of Edwards’ Ascension Technique. This not only involves family fusion but also the creation space required by the ceremony. Besides the Chosen One Ceremony, there are other secrets to Edwards’ Ascension Technique. He collected the flesh and blood of Green Lake Town descendants, making thirteen keys, all related to it. Becoming the Chosen One is only part of his plan; he is seeking sothing else.”
After conducting two consecutive special divinations, Luviya’s face appeared sowhat pale. Shard suggested she take a rest, while Iluna poured her a cup of hot tea. Luviya, not forcing herself, tidied her thoughts while holding the teacup:
“To see Laplace Klein Howard, you must pass through that blood-red door. The door, although appearing in the dreams of the Edwards, has its reality on another island. By performing the symbolic act of ‘passing through the door,’ the awakened powers in the bloodline of the Edwards are replicated and transferred to the top diviner, and after the so-called ‘banquet,’ achieve true fusion of soul and flesh. The thirteen keys, as Shard suspected, symbolize a degraded version of the Ritual of the Thirteen Chosen from the Whispering Verses. The process of finding the keys is the process of finding the Chosen ones. The keys themselves represent the history and inheritance of the Edwards Family; together, the thirteen keys open that door, equivalent to the final door opened by the Chosen One: the Edwards had pushed open the ultimate door.”
This passage is sowhat complex, involving rather abstract knowledge of Ritual Studies. This is yet only part of what Luviya can see, the Diviners on the island should have more preparations:
“I don’t know what the final purpose of Edwards’ Ascension Technique is, I have never seen this consciousness.”
“In other words, the stronger the Edwards beco, the stronger the final Diviner will be. And by collecting these keys, aren’t we effectively aiding his ritual?”
Iluna frowned in summary, as Luviya shook her head:
“That ceremony is an ‘United as One’ ritual. It’s not that if we don’t collect the keys, the ritual cannot proceed, Laplace Howard has ways to obtain those keys and open the door himself. However, once we can gather the thirteen keys in advance, we can arrive on the island early, see him through that door before he can conduct the ritual.”
Shard finally understood the most crucial and final task at hand:
“Gather thirteen keys as quickly as possible and then bring people to the island, defeat or contain Laplace Klein Howard.”
Luviya nodded gently:
“This is the final information of this divination: once the ritual is launched, all the Edwards will instantly appear on another island shrouded with mist and will be guided to that blood-red door. This is an inherent spatial power hidden in their bloodline, passed down through generations, just like a bloodline prophecy that cannot be erased.”
On the tabletop, only two coins were left; Iluna left the Ho Coin that could exchange a house and picked up the last chanical Blessing:
“Since the target is clear, other specifics regarding Edwards’ Ascension Technique can be temporarily ignored. Just like when we opposed Silver-Eyed One and Blood of rcury, for this last divination, please divine as much as possible what dangers around that Diviner and in his possession we must face.”
This is a divination for possible dangers in the future. Although the demons have been eradicated, the ancestor beside him employs more than just demons.
Luviya understood Iluna’s intention, but having conducted three consecutive divinations, Shard and Iluna suggested she rest. The three then chatted idly over teacups, sharing their thoughts and plans amidst the gaslight glow in the hotel room on this rainy Monday morning.
Iluna loved the atmosphere, as chatting indoors on a rainy day brings joy, especially with Shard and Luviya by her side. She complained about how Green Lake City’s environnt does not match Tobesk, discussed with Shard whether Green Lake will indeed turn green as rumored, and finally recomnded Luviya to try Green Lake City’s specialty wild berry jam made from blueberries and red berries from the lakeside, available only locally but delicious.
Luviya listened with a smile, her conversation revolving around the landscapes and terrains Shard observed during his multiple visits to the island.
As for Shard, besides pointing out that the Witch Council is preparing Chosen One Ceremony items for Laster Edwards and Durut Giles, he ntioned that once matters in Green Lake Region conclude, he must visit the town where Miss Mia Gold’s family resides:
“I’m really curious about that lady.”
While holding a lively cat, preventing it from dipping its paw into his teacup:
“In the spring, due to my severe illness and Miss Gawder being too busy to host , the original spring trip was canceled. This ti, no matter what, I must go. It won’t take long to travel from Middelburg to a small town on the Old Continent’s east coast.”
The chat continued for an hour, during which Luviya repeatedly claid she was rested enough, but Shard and Iluna still forbade her from tossing coins. Finally, at ten thirty in the morning, the fourth coin flew into the air.
As the coin descended, rapidly dispersing into ashes, the girl with purple eyes suddenly groaned painfully, blood trickling from her lips:
“I’m fine, really fine. I saw too much.”
Shard hurried to support her, while Iluna handed her own handkerchief and placed her warm sunlit hand on her back, using a Healing Arcane Technique.
Luviya’s condition wasn’t as bad as they feared; it wasn’t a problem with the divination itself, but she had seen sothing very dangerous:
“This final battle will definitely be more dangerous and troubleso than at Randall Valley. The corrupted Guardian at Randall Valley, regardless of power, capable of countless clones, was essentially still just an individual. But now, around Laplace Klein Howard, there are at least five entities beyond the Thirteen Rings.”
