Capítulo 1668: Chapter 1668: “Punishnt

Shard, who rushed into Yordle Palace in the form of a cat, carefully avoided the reconnaissance spirits and ritual elents set up by the Church in the Royal Palace, and then jumped from the side wall onto the street.

This is not Silver Cross Avenue, but Saint Bockman Street which connects with Disc Bridge that spans the Terael River. This street intersects with Silver Cross Avenue and runs parallel to Council Street on the north side of Yordle Palace.

Because the gas street lamps on the street are very bright, Shard temporarily did not change back to human form, but planned to find a dark alley and then throw the Crystal Shoes to go ho, as it’s close to ho anyway. As for why not do it in Lecia’s bedroom, it’s because Shard is still angry with Lecia and Dorothy and hesitates to take out her Crystal Shoes in front of her.

Moreover, Angelina and so many maids are present, and he is embarrassed to do so.

“Her” laughter echoed in his ears, and Shard knew why “she” was laughing, but he didn’t care at all. The cat looked left and right under the wall, confird there were no carriages passing by, and prepared to run across the road to the other side of the street.

The warm light of the gas lamps dragged the long black shadow of the silver cat onto the street, creating a rather eerie atmosphere.

Once Shard reached the area not illuminated by gas street lamps on the opposite street, he first changed back to his own appearance. He reached into his arms to take out the Crystal Shoes, but heard the commotion and footsteps coming from the west on Disco Street, away from ho.

The irritated Shard abandoned the idea of taking out the Crystal Shoes and instead reached for the gun holster at his waist. The outlander’s brownish-black eyes saw a flash from the bridge and heard gunshots suppressed by a silencer in the darkness.

He stood absolutely still in the shadows until the chasing people arrived here.

Director Anlos, leading agents chasing the enemy, was sweating profusely even in the spring night’s breeze, because he had recognized this place. And the three people in black trench coats running ahead also realized where they were in their escape.

Although it wasn’t the direction of the Carsonrick Embassy, this place was still good. They ran forward with a sense of martyrdom, intending to get closer to Yordle Palace, but at this mont, a figure in a black trench coat also walked out on the empty street illuminated by gas lamps.

Bang~

The gunshot not suppressed by a silencer finally broke the night’s silence. Shard hit the forehead of the man running in front with one shot, without bothering to press the hamr, throwing a dinner knife with his left hand, piercing into the throat of the second man behind the fallen one.

With a cold face, he walked towards the third man, who now panic-stricken, aid at Shard and pulled the trigger, but after a slight sound, Shard dodged the bullet with a re tilt of his head. He didn’t give the opponent a chance to fire a second shot, swiftly closed in, and punched the man’s chest.

Director Anlos, hurriedly bringing people, montarily thought Shard’s fist would pierce through the man’s chest, but in reality, the man who collapsed to the ground was rely knocked unconscious.

“Good evening.”

Shard kicked away the opponent’s fallen pistol, blew his gun’s muzzle, then bent down to retrieve the dinner knife he had thrown, and wiped the blood off on the corpse’s clothes.

Director Anlos also breathed a sigh of relief, gestured for the agents behind him to handle the police and deal with the corpses and subsequent ‘cleaners’ who heard the gunshots, then waved to Shard.

He didn’t ask why Shard carried a dinner knife, nor asked what Shard was doing here so late, Director Anlos offered a suggestion:

“Are you still using that revolver? I suggest you switch to a gun that can fire in succession. Also, silencers are necessary.”

Shard nodded noncommittally; the gun for him was rely a decoration and sothing to increase the chances of successful ‘persuasion’ when necessary:

“Who are these people? Related to Thursday night, and the grand nobles eting with Carsonrickians?”

Shard asked, Director Anlos slightly shook his head:

“Hard to say, maybe related. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have needed to lead the team personally.”

While being a Director of the Sixth Division, although he will go out for fieldwork when necessary, he certainly wouldn’t personally handle every matter:

“This ti, hard to say, really unrelated to the Grey Glove. It’s a third party force outside Draleon and Carsonrick.”

The middle-aged man said worryingly, crouching down to check the third man’s breath:

“Very good, you’ve left us a survivor, no need to worry about having no leads.”

“A third-party force? Old Continent and New World, and a power comparable to both major Kingdoms?”

Shard asked, Director Anlos lowered his voice:

“Individually certainly not, but together it’s not certain. Moreover… this ti, might be related to a Prince. At this ti of year…”

The last part of the sentence was already inaudible, Shard clicked his tongue, pushing his gun back into its holster:

“Another Prince? The Cavendish Royalty really… I wasn’t here today.”

He said, then waved his hand, preparing to go ho.

Director Anlos didn’t say more, waved back, and turned to arrange the aftermath.

After parting with Director Anlos, Shard didn’t toss the Crystal Shoes but chose to walk ho. Having killed soone angrily just now, he also realized he needed ti to think and calm his emotions.

But the incident location was very close to ho, so unknowingly, he’d already taken out the key and opened the door.

Upon reaching the second floor, his warm ho still provided relaxation, with Mia already waiting for Shard at the staircase.

Luviya walked out of the bedroom and asked with concern:

“Is the Princess okay?”

Indeed she had guessed the general situation, of course, Dorothy might have said sothing as well.

“She’s fine, but needs ti to rest.”

Shard replied as he embraced the cat, then signaled towards the bedroom with his eyes, the purple-eyed girl chuckled slightly:

“She’s not asleep yet, but apparently a bit afraid of you.”

“Afraid of what about ?”

He took off his coat and hung it on the coat rack, then entering the bedroom, indeed saw Miss Blonde Writer sitting on the bed, sowhat avoiding his gaze.

However, her attire had changed from a normal dress to a nightgown while Shard was away.

Shard pulled a chair to sit by the bed, Luviya didn’t follow into the bedroom, from the sound, she went to the kitchen.

“I’m sorry.”

It took a long ti for either of them to speak, but in the end, it was Dorothy who broke the silence.

She pursed her lips, sitting on the bed and looking at Shard:

“I promise, this is the last ti.”

As she spoke, she extended her hand to hold Shard’s hand:

“All along, it’s been Lecia and

causing you trouble… I’m sorry. I know we were wrong this ti. If you weren’t by my side… Shard, I’m sorry.”

The blonde girl’s face looked rather haggard, and Shard gazed into her erald eyes:

“I won’t say things like ‘This is your own matter, no need to apologize to .’ I’ve never opposed you seeking your own secrets. But whatever happens, at least discuss it with . We are family.”

“We are family.”

Miss Writer’s eyes were a bit red; she turned her body sideways and held Shard’s hands with both of hers:

“We understand how big a mistake this was. When you used that kiss to bring our souls back just now, we felt the warmth and urgency of your soul… Lecia’s Low Ring Ascension Words are ‘Sleeping Princess,’ and she gained more than I did. I’m sorry, Shard, truly sorry.”

Saying this, she attempted to raise her arms to wrap around Shard’s neck and hug him, but in the end, it was as if she didn’t dare to complete the motion, retracting them halfway through, and continued to look at Shard pitifully. This deanor was sowhat like Mia’s.

“Why are you afraid of ?”

Shard asked curiously, patting the cat’s head and placing it on the headboard. The first button of Dorothy’s nightgown was undone, and she bit her pale lips, tinged with so color:

“You whipped us just now… it was too painful.”

Shard looked at her like this, hesitating for at least three seconds before asking:

“Is this what you and Luviya discussed, a way to prevent

from getting angry again?”

“Lecia and I really know we were wrong this ti.”

She bowed her head, looking at Shard with eyes raised, resembling Lecia from ten minutes ago:

“If you’re still angry, you can… use that whip again. Although it hurts, it doesn’t leave marks… Doesn’t wrongdoing require punishnt?”

Shard wasn’t sure if this was Lecia’s idea or Dorothy’s, or perhaps Luviya’s, but no matter what, he couldn’t use the Soul Lashing on the girls next to him, even though the Arcane Technique had no aggression.

He sighed:

“I was indeed angry when going to find Lecia just now, but now I’m not angry anymore. Everyone has immature monts. I worry about you, you know what I want to say. But just this once, I rarely make such demands, Dorothy, and I know Lecia is definitely listening: you need to promise

that whenever you make a decision about yourselves in the future, you’ll discuss it with

in advance.”

“Yes, I promise.”

Lecia said.

“Shard, there won’t be a next ti. We’ll discuss it with you in advance. Also, to save us, what did you sacrifice?”

After Dorothy’s soul was swapped back, she said.

Shard shook his head, unwilling to elaborate more. The sealed sorcery should have a way to be recovered, but it would take ti.

He stood up from the chair:

“Even if you made a mistake, if there’s a next ti, I would still save you. Ladies, we all need to learn from this incident. This is the only benefit we can gain from the aftermath. Tonight, you should have a good rest here. Luviya and I will sleep in the side bedroom next door. If there’s anything, co and call us.”

Just then, Luviya entered with a tray. The kitchen was already boiling water before Shard returned, so the tea was prepared quickly:

“Is everything okay now? Dorothy, I told you, as long as you sincerely apologize and admit your mistakes, Shard won’t stay angry.”

Luviya naturally had no objections to the sleeping arrangent in the side bedroom. Every Saturday is typically Dorothy and Lecia’s date night with Shard; she rarely spends the night at Shard’s place at this ti.

However, the blonde girl lying on the bed held on to Shard, raising her head to look at the Outlander:

“But tonight is Saturday, our weekly learning and date night…”

“You’re not in the best state; just rest well.”

With that, Shard took the tray from Luviya’s hands and placed it on the low cabinet beside the bed. The cat imdiately eyed the three-layered sandwich cookies on the tray.

“Is this the punishnt?”

Dorothy asked.

“What?”

Shard didn’t understand the question, so Miss Writer first looked at Luviya, then pursed her lips, pulling Shard’s hand:

“Let’s change the way of punishnt? Using… that thod of teaching naughty children.”

Shard thought for a mont, noticing Luviya’s face imdiately flush, realizing that what he and they might be thinking could very well be the sa thing.

The beautiful blonde’s erald eyes looked at him, shaking his hand a bit. Seeing Shard hesitating there, she looked to Luviya for help:

“Help , tonight, here… I didn’t bring the Ever-Youth Leaf.”

Their eyes t briefly, consequently, a blushing Miss Diviner gently pushed Shard:

“Shard, you should forgive Dorothy. Even though she made a wrong decision, a little punishnt is enough, and it will leave a deep enough impression so she won’t act impulsively next ti… Let

make it clear that I can stay, but I didn’t do anything wrong tonight; the one punished won’t be .”

The vigilant cat watching the three humans sensed that sothing wasn’t right about the scene before its eyes. It had already realized it might not get any of the sandwich cookies and could end up spending the night in the closet’s cat bed.
