Capítulo 1644: Chapter 1644: Seeking Help

Shard asked earnestly to Iluna, who was sitting outside the desk:

“The situation on the Central Island of Green Lake was sowhat unexpected. Not only did a Thirteen Ring Sorcerer appear, but that mist also hindered the use of most long-range Arcane Techniques. You know, my most common technique is the long-range attack type, Silvermoon Slash. But if I could perform large-scale attacks like your Arcane Techniques, it would form an effective deterrent even without aiming, even if unseen in the fog. My rapid advancent indeed leaves

lacking in large-scale attack capabilities and ans to deal with gigantified enemies.”

As he spoke, he gestured with his hands.

Iluna sat across the desk and was pleased with Shard coming to her for help:

“For you, that’s actually quite simple. The entire Spellcasting process I’ve summarized includes three key points:

First, you need to precisely control the outflow of Spirit and Energy. Otherwise, unchecked massive energy can lead to serious consequences. Earlier this year, I’ve been practicing controlling the Sun’s Power within my hand with the Empty Bottle Fruit, enhancing my precision control skills. You should have no issue either, as being able to develop so many forms of the basic ‘Moonlight Slash’ shows that your control over Moonlight Energy is stronger than most people.”

Shard nodded:

“So, what are the other two points?”

“Second, you need a sufficiently large Spirit to support Spellcasting. This doesn’t need much explanation, as gigantified energy attacks an more consumption. But you and I naturally have a higher Spirit cap than ordinary Circle Sorcerers, so this point doesn’t require concern.”

Shard nodded again, knowing that as he’s now at the Sixth Ring, his Spirit capacity, although not as exaggerated as his Stamina, is not necessarily less than that of the Seventh Ring Iluna.

“The last point is that, whether it’s Fireball, Wind Blade, Light Beam, or Energy Sphere, Circle Sorcerers have so energy release thods. But to gigantify them requires various thods. My way was to perceive the Earth’s vast Power, understanding, while standing upside down, as if supporting the Earth, how to bear greater power with my hands.”

She extended her hand, and Shard naturally took it. Iluna’s face flushed, then she made her hand glow, though it was useless, she just wanted Shard to think he could perceive sothing holding her hand:

“You’ve also felt those greater powers, and your understanding of the Earth is not weaker than mine. What you lack is just attempts and a mont of insight, much like how you’ve repeatedly developed new forms of the ‘Moonlight Slash’.”

Of course, she also reminded:

“If you want to practice, don’t do it at ho. If a failure is fine, but once you succeed, your ho’s roof will be gone.”

“I understand that.”

Shard smiled and nodded:

“Feeling the Earth’s vast Power… holding up the Earth upside down… Maybe I can ask the Guardian for help.”

“That’s just my thod, it may not suit everyone.”

Iluna reminded and then offered her suggestion:

“You should look more at the Moon at night, feel the weight of the Moon in the night sky. The Sun and Earth’s Powers oppose yet transform into each other, so it suits you. Shard, you should see more of the Moon.”

This was indeed very useful advice, but it also ant it would take a long ti to learn and comprehend.

Seeing Shard in deep thought, Iluna didn’t imdiately let go of his hand, instead, she continued to ask:

“Today is Wednesday, how do you plan to spend it?”

“Originally, I planned to investigate the conference proceedings in the Green Lake Region and track down a gang of tomb robbers. But yesterday I encountered the ‘Mirror Keeper’ and got new intel from Miss Apothecary. I want to talk to Miss Galina.”

“Let’s go together.”

Iluna smiled and said:

“I happen to have taken a morning off, and Miss Galina wants

to submit a reading report to her. Do you know where she is now, at Yordle Palace or her estate?”

“I don’t know, but I can find out.”

After tidying up at ho and leaving the well-fed, unwilling-to-move Mia to look after the house, Shard went with Iluna to the flower shop on Silver Cross Avenue. He asked Miss Maid of Angelina’s to check if Miss Galina was at Yordle Palace this morning, then around ten, Shard and Iluna took an unmarked carriage from the flower shop entrance and t Miss Galina and Tifa inside.

“It’s rare to see the two of you together.”

The Red-Haired Duchess teased as the carriage slowly moved forward. Iluna first handed over her reading report, which Miss Galina briefly flipped through before passing it to Tifa for safekeeping.

“It’s just that there are important things to discuss about the Green Lake Region. Yesterday, after ascending the Central Island with Miss Apothecary, we encountered so unexpected events.”

Shard recounted everything from the island the previous day. Upon hearing about the two Thirteen Ring Sorcerers, the Witch’s expression turned serious. After listening, she asked with concern:

“Are you alright? I didn’t expect you’d run into the Mirror Keeper, if I had known earlier, I would have…”

“No, you should proceed with the original plan to Green Lake Region, there’s no need to rush early. I will handle these matters.”

Shard shook his head, stopping her words:

“The key now is that the Edwards Family’s issue has only revealed a glimpse, and it’s already linked to two Thirteen Rings, including a Thirteen-Ring Diviner. I dare bet, the opponent likely still exists in so form. This indicates the level of danger won’t be lesser than any previous instance.”

“The more you say that, the more I worry. Why not let Tifa lead the way to Green Lake? She can hold the Eighth Rank ritual this week, and with Miss Feliana’s blessings, she can imdiately ascend to the next rank, her strength far surpasses your Miss Apothecary.”

Even while discussing serious matters, she didn’t forget to jab at the Council colleague.

“If that’s the case, how about I apply to go to Green Lake now?”

Iluna also said, although Shard spoke nonchalantly, they all knew how dangerous it was for Shard to face the Mirror Keeper.

“Tifa is reaching the Eighth Rank? Oh, congratulations.”

Shard smiled and said to Tifa, the black-haired Miss Maid nodded modestly and also showed a smile in return.

“But there’s no need, Iluna, Galina, you don’t have to worry about . If it’s truly dangerous, I can actually use the Maze Lock to return directly. That island may hinder spatial power, but it cannot hinder . Galina, I hope you can inform the Council about the danger in the Green Lake Region, just as Iluna will inform the Church. Since those hidden guys want to act secretly, let everyone know of their existence.”

The witch nodded:

“Although this might focus everyone’s attention on Green Lake prematurely, it’s more dangerous for those hidden guys. No problem, that Thirteen-Ring Diviner from two hundred years ago is indeed worth our vigilance.”

“And there’s one more thing. Miss Apothecary told

her na is gan, not Audrey.”

Shard said again, this ti Tifa responded:

“The Great Witch of Knowledge and Wisdom often uses the alias gan. The few letters and so packages she sent to Miss were also using the na gan Edwards.”

“But from the situation at the ti, it didn’t seem like it was an alias… I have so guesses about this witch, but I still need verification.”

“The witch’s affairs can be set aside for now, we are more worried about you. Thirteen Rings is no joke, unless you reveal the power you show during each final battle, otherwise you cannot defeat any Thirteen-Ring sorcerer.”

Iluna was still worried, but the witch held Shard’s hand and placed it on his knee:

“Iluna, Shard knows what he needs to do. Since he tells us to rest assured, then we should be assured.”

“We cannot ignore the matter of the Mirror Keeper either, let the local Church entangle with him first. If the Church can drive him away or even capture him, all the better. If not… with half the mbers of the Witch Council, plus , Iluna, and Sister Delphine, I refuse to believe that even being a Thirteen-Ring, without activating the Sublimation Incantation, he can still have the upper hand. He cannot be left for the final battle, although I still don’t know what the enemy will be this ti, a Thirteen-Ring sorcerer cannot be allowed to get too involved.”

The witch and the seventeen-year-old girl both nodded:

“Alright then, let’s convene at Green Lake, before that, you must be cautious yourself.”

Shard actually thought about whether to call Dr. Schneider, but then felt it unnecessary. However, he could call Miss Danester, the “Red Moon Witch” wouldn’t hesitate to get involved in this matter. Shard only needed to consider how to explain his relationship with so many female sorcerers.

Previously, his strength was not enough, and he could only act secretly during each major event. But now he had reached the Six Rings, and those trustworthy around him were growing, so he could consider being a bit more high-profile.

“And, where will this era’s Impermanence: Space be… the Traveler’s Association? Or perhaps the Winter Choir?”

Impermanence was still sowhat distant, yet Shard had many matters at hand.

Iluna was left by Miss Galina to talk about academic matters, while Shard was sent back to Saint Delan Square by carriage, afterward he went to Randall Valley.

Since saying goodbye to Dr. Schneider in Randall Valley and then falling ill at ho, Shard had not set foot on this land for over a month. Now recalling it brought a sense of nostalgia.

When he erged from the basent of the Church of the Forgotten, he found the collapsed buildings behind the church had been mostly repaired, and many rooms had shown signs of use.

Upon reaching the church’s main hall, he saw oil paintings on the walls, the pulpit adorned with flower arrangents, and even the rows of benches decorated with ribbons. The Holy Emblem of the Forgotten Old Man glittered on the wall, the rust on the church doors was completely cleaned. Windows previously boarded up were all opened, allowing the gentle spring breeze to flow in. Red carpets lined the aisles between benches, and even the ceiling, once full of stains, was repainted with religious murals.

Of course, the hole in the roof still existed, but had perfectly blended into the church’s ambiance:

“Looks quite good.”

He originally thought the church would be empty, but upon walking out the church door, he saw two young won cleaning in the church’s courtyard. Shard recognized them as theater staff from the Golden Dawn Opera Group, and greeted them with a smile.

The female sorcerers naturally knew Shard and inford him that the Golden Dawn Opera Group had left locally to perform elsewhere.

As the opera group’s director and deputy director, Miss Benanis and Ciris had also left with the group. A few remained to manage Wilder Opera House and maintain this church.

When Shard asked where the Golden Dawn Opera Group was now, the two young won smiled and said:

“Originally, Miss Lathis planned to go to Tobesk, it’s been many years since we’ve perford in Draleon’s Northern Pearl. But later Velindale sent us an invitation letter, so the group accepted the reward and headed to the Green Lake Region, intending to showcase our cultural and artistic prowess to the Northerners.”

This way, Shard would soon reunite with the Witch of the Earth and Ciris.

In the courtyard of the Church of the Forgotten, under an oak tree already budding green leaves, Shard called upon the Guardian’s na. After a mont, the soil ahead rose and wriggled, molding into a human form, with the Chosen of the Earth appearing before him.

After a month’s absence, the Guardian remained unchanged. He appeared as Mr. Lathis this ti, silently listening as Shard spoke of Green Lake, the Mirror Association, and the Thirteen-Ring Diviner’s affairs, then nodded:

“No problem, I’ll inform the True God Church about this tomorrow morning. Earth has given

the insight that Green Lake’s crisis must be organized.”

“There’s one more thing, do you rember Iluna Beath? The girl who uses the Power of the Earth: Earth Energy Cannon. I intend to learn and master the technique of releasing gigantic energy, but currently have little direction.”

Regarding Shard’s second request, the Guardian under the tree paused to think for a mont:

“You are different from the Chosen of Balance, listening and sensing Earth is certainly possible, but the best thod remains sensing the Moon. Particularly… during the Lunar Eclipse at the end of this month.”

The Guardian, who commands the Earth’s power, can foresee all natural Earth phenona in advance. He may not sharply perceive all changes in the starry sky, but such an important event as a Lunar Eclipse cannot elude his knowledge. Even without the title of Guardian or Chosen, he is still a nearly demigod-level Thirteen-Ring sorcerer:

“Shard Hamilton, this Lunar Eclipse is very important for you.”
