Chapter 1465: Chapter 1465: Miracle - Shadow of the Moon
In the darkness of the shattered mirror, a familiar figure is approaching. Even though the Night Watchman has already begun to break the mirror, even though Dr. Schneider is about to arrive, the mont Shard saw that figure, he felt his heart completely freeze.
The pitch-black Shard Hamilton, looking exactly like the Outlander outside the mirror at this mont, moved his arms in an exaggerated manner, clapping as he walked out from the depths of each fragnt.
Countless eyes within the fragnts gazed at Shard, revealing their deepest secret:
"The greatest enemy of mortals is yourselves."
The fluttering Roder Cards and the surrounding blizzard seed frozen in Shard’s eyes. This was not the Demon manipulating ti once more; rather, at the mont he saw his own reflection in the mirror, ti within his senses completely stopped.
The silhouette of Shard Hamilton was reflected in the Outlander’s eyes. Even though he could see himself every morning in the mirror while grooming, the clarity of the Demon showing itself at this mont was unprecedentedly telling the Outlander what he really was.
"Can you defeat yourself?"
No one noticed the silver moonlight slowly radiating out from the cracks of the shattered Stone Mirror. Stone Mirror Demon: Goethe is a demon of the mirror, and in this mirror that actively reflects the Outlander, even Shard Hamilton’s pitch-black form beca blurred in Shard’s eyes.
Outside the mirror is Shard Hamilton, but the reflection within shows the pitch-black Shard Hamilton. Inside the mirror is the pitch-black Shard Hamilton, yet in the Outlander’s eyes outside the mirror, Shard saw clearly, it was a black moon.
"No, that’s the moon’s backside, it’s..."
He didn’t understand why he felt ti stasis at this mont, nor did he understand why he saw this. But the answer had long existed within him; only at this mont, when he truly saw his reflection in the mirror, did he fully comprehend himself, knowing what he was seeing after all:
"That’s the shadow of the moon?!"
The instant the answer spoke within his heart, the figure clapping in the mirror was swallowed by the silver moonlight.
Shard’s own eyes saw the black moon, yet the moon truly appeared in the mirror, a flawless silver moon.
Clang!
Shard didn’t even notice the longsword in his hand falling to the ground.
Crack!
With the sound of shattering, the Stone Mirror that had reflected the moon couldn’t maintain its image for even half a second before disintegrating completely like a Steam Bomb exploding from the center.
The Demon couldn’t even maintain its body, reverting back to the form of Ston Osenfort, with black blood flowing from its eyes and ears, clutching its chest as it spat blood, appearing in the fragnts of the shattered mirror.
It could no longer see or hear, as if a hurricane had directly appeared in the courtyard of Osenfort Estate, fifty-four Roder Cards swirling around Shard, the dense Steam Mist was swept into a massive white pillar reaching the sky.
Within that heated steam, the long blare of a whistle and the distant chi of an ancient era rang together. From within the Steam Mist erged the shadow of the Brass Ring, revealing the full form of the Ring of Fate behind Shard.
On the spinning Ring of Fate, the Four-Color Aura gathered together, but ultimately the golden Miracle Aura overwheld all.
On this moonless night, the black moon was reflected in Shard’s eyes, also becoming part of his soul.
"On the path of seeking power, you have finally cast your gaze inward, rather than outward onto the world. You have glimpsed your own secret, Outlander, the path of the moon opens before you. You have realized your own uniqueness, you have discovered your own strength."
"Outlander, you have encountered a ’Miracle.’
On the rapidly spinning Ring of Fate, the golden aura engraved for Shard the fourth Spirit Rune of the Five Rings, the second Miracle Soul Rune of the Five Rings.
"Outlander, you have inscribed the Golden Miracle Spirit Rune - Shadow of the Moon."
"Your Miracle Soul Rune - Shadow of the Moon is acquired. Passive effect: Wherever and whenever, your state is fixed as standing under the moon. Any Spirit Rune you possess with the ’moon’ elent can be considered a Spirit Rune with the ’moon’ elent removed. Your Moon Power is comprehensively enhanced."
The content of the Spirit Rune didn’t surprise Shard, who instinctively closed his eyes, firmly imprinting the black moon into his heart. Unaware, at this mont the silver moonlight adhering to his body surged upwards through the cloudy sky like a light pillar.
Though the phenonon lasted only two seconds, the bright pillar of light amidst the dark winter blizzard night attracted the River Valley Circle Sorcerers’ attention, as their nerves were strained this entire evening.
"Shard?"
Previously, Wilder Opera House had been monitoring the direction of the Osenfort Estate. Upon observing the bright silver pillar on the opera house rooftop, the ssage was instantly relayed to Luviya.
The purple-eyed girl looked towards the night from the window, but all traces had vanished in the night:
"The matter on Shard’s side should be resolved."
She quickly made a judgnt:
"Let Miss Servit and Miss Haley Aphrola prepare to assist Miss Sylvia’s space teleportation. They should return soon. Also, have Miss Swift summarize the current situation in the city along with the intelligence sent by the Grand Witches; Shard should imdiately set off again once he returns."
She anxiously grasped her sleeve. Though she was unsure of what exactly happened at the Osenfort Estate, she trusted Shard and believed he would keep his promise.
"What’s the situation?"
Fully ard, Dr. Bill Schneider assud a combat stance the mont his vision was restored, then warily shook his head to survey his surroundings.
The clouds obscured the starry sky and the moon, but the burning forest illuminated the eerie courtyard. The howling night wind stirred the gray snowflakes, with shattered fragnts of stone mirrors and footprints of small animals scattered on the ground.
"Isn’t there supposed to be a battle?"
The doctor muttered again, expecting to be attacked or to pursue imdiately, but what he saw was Shard emitting sanctified moonlight in the fiery snow, with a Ring of Fate appearing behind him, while the bleeding demon was on the verge of dying.
Of course, demons do not die from not breathing; this was rely Dr. Schneider’s expression of surprise.
"Wasn’t I supposed to deal with the demon? How... it’s really cold here."
The middle-aged doctor, accustod to Tobesk’s winter temperatures, couldn’t help but comnt on the weather once he confird the battle seed over. Seeing that Shard, though injured, was breathing steadily, he chose not to disturb him and instead walked towards the demon.
The blue-eyed doctor was particularly interested in this unfamiliar city and even more fascinated by the gray snow. The badly injured demon, having barely regained his vision and hearing, originally intended to abandon everything, forever retreat with the secret he just uncovered, but when he looked up, he saw the suddenly appearing middle-aged man.
Dr. Bill Schneider wore a black warm coat, a black hat, black leather boots, and carried a small briefcase in his right hand; he was observing the demon. Hesitating slightly, Goethe widened his eyes:
"Is it you?!"
Then turned to Shard, who in his view was a bright moon:
"That madman not only summoned her but also summoned you?"
"What madman? Is there a madman here?"
The psychiatrist imdiately looked around with caution and confusion, then determined that the demon was trying to confuse him. However, he noticed another detail:
"You recognize ’’?"
He squinted his eyes and asked, then nodded to himself in understanding. While continuing to speak, he slowly removed his black leather gloves and casually tossed them onto a broken millstone in the snow:
"Yes, an ancient evil spirit like you, adept at probing inner secrets, indeed might recognize ’’."
He turned to glance at Shard, confirming Shard was still motionless:
"Originally, I intended to keep you here, perhaps for the detective to ask you so questions to clear their doubts. But since you recognize , then farewell."
The doctor shrugged, then tossed his expensive black warm coat onto the millstone.
The flickering flas outside the estate cast massive, growing shadows onto Shard. The bizarre giant object slowly took shape in front of him, while on the other side, the cracked black stone mirror also almost simultaneously took form.
The two shadows t in front of Shard, but there was no vibration or shockwave from the impact. The two equally strange shadows entangled, followed by a nauseating twist and devouring sound.
Despite being critically injured from reflecting Shard’s shadow, the Stone Mirror Demon still possessed strange powers, but unfortunately for him, he encountered Dr. Bill Schneider.
Thus, when Shard completely comprehended the new powers and reopened his eyes, the Stone Mirror Demon - Goethe had vanished.
White vapor slowly exhaled from his mouth, and the doctor, re-dressed in his thick black warm coat, sat on the halved millstone buried deep in the snow, observing a small black stone mirror densely covered with cracks, using the light of the burning dead forest outside the estate.
He stood up with a smile:
"Shard, you’ve finally awakened, good evening."
Dr. Schneider warmly hugged Shard and inford him of the battle’s outco as Shard looked around:
"It’s over; Goethe won’t reappear for perhaps a few thousand years... We did really well."
