Chapter 986: Chapter 975: Song Family Ancestral Temple
After wandering in the mountains for a while, they finally arrived at the front of a temple.
At this ti, outside this temple, there were already quite a few cars parked. These belonged to the Song Family mbers who had arrived earlier to help with so matters.
Actually, calling this ancient-style building a temple seems a bit off. It looks more like sothing akin to an ancestral ho and lacks the traditional scene of a large group of monks. There are a few monks chanting sutras here, but there is no abbot.
This is a temple exclusively for the Song Family, filled with many things that are different from common items found in the market now. These are all traditions passed down through the ages in the Song Family, sothing Song Yun is not very familiar with.
The Song Family mbers bustling around the temple imdiately greeted Song Yun upon seeing him.
This is where the aura of the main branch, being prominent, stands out. mbers of the side branches generally have to greet those from the main branch. Of course, figures like Song Kunlun and Song Kunhu from the auxiliary branches are exceptions—it’s not such a big deal if they don’t greet Song Yun. However, to these peripheral side branch mbers here, Song Yun indeed carries the halo of the main branch.
At the temple entrance, Song Yun saw Li Shishi and Ye Qingsi, who were busy arranging so small items.
Seeing Song Yun arrive, Li Shishi’s charming eyes curved, but she quickly restrained the excitent in her heart, reverting to her usual expression.
Ye Qingsi, being very perceptive, noticed Li Shishi’s fleeting change and approached Song Yun, asking, "Why are you here so early?"
"Just ca over to see if there’s anything I can help with," Song Yun said, "By the way, Mom, we plan to head back to Sunan after things are wrapped up here. What do you think?"
"Sure!" Ye Qingsi said, "You have your own career; you can’t waste ti here forever, but Shishi has to stay with
in Beijing."
"Why?" Song Yun was puzzled.
"You have a lot to do when you return this ti, and Shishi has a child. She can’t always stay with you, right? Soone needs to take care of her. Just so happens in Beijing, I can teach her so things." Ye Qingsi explained.
"What do you think?" Song Yun asked Li Shishi.
"Hmm, I also want to learn sothing from Auntie!" Li Shishi said.
"Then it’s settled." Since Li Shishi had no objection, Song Yun naturally had no issue as well.
"You all stay here then, we’ll keep exploring." Song Yun said, then walked into the depths of the temple alongside Qingluan.
This temple is built in a mountain hollow, constructed by the mountain. At the back of the temple lies a mountain wall, quite high; it’s almost impossible to see the top from below.
As Song Yun and Qingluan strolled, they observed the surrounding scenery, occasionally exchanging a few words.
Song Yun was much less frivolous and indecent compared to usual days, and Qingluan also appeared less aloof.
They discussed either the architectural style of their surroundings or the aning of the paintings on the walls, and without realizing it, they reached the depths of the temple.
In the depths of the temple are enshrined several statues.
Song Yun had never seen these statues before; they are not the traditional Bodhisattva or Tathagata, but more like real humans, dressed in celestial garnts, which might seem a bit out of place.
"These are the ancestors of the Song Family," Qingluan softly said.
"Ancestors?" Song Yun frowned and asked, "Are these our Song Family’s ancestors?"
"Yes," Qingluan nodded and said, "Auntie said that these enshrine three of our Song Family ancestors, also known as the patriarchs in our Song Family’s specific term. These three statues represent the dharma forms of our ancestors that were moved here from Sunan during the liberation period. Legend has it that they conquered a vast territory in Sunan long ago and offered it to a king of a dynasty at the ti in ancient Sunan. The king then titled the three as kings, to guard Sunan for generations. During their guardianship, Sunan prospered trendously, and from then on, our Song Family lineage began to thrive on Sunan soil. When these ancestors departed this life, they were supposedly brought directly into heaven by heavenly emissaries and ranked among the deities. These dharma forms are said to be what remained when they ascended."
"Ascension..." Song Yun looked at the statues, about three people tall, and said, "This is a bit idealistic. Of course, I’m not questioning the ancient Song Family legends, but from a current scientific perspective, this might be a man-made mythologization of our Song Family ancestors. These were techniques used by rulers then to better control the populace, akin to modern teachings urging people to study XXX, which is largely a tactic of ignorance."
"Haha, believe it or not," Qingluan stood among the three statues, hands clasped respectfully, and said, "I would rather believe that deities exist in this world. People always need so faith."
After saying this, Qingluan deeply bowed before the three statues.
Song Yun stood beside Qingluan and bowed likewise.
Regardless of whether it’s a legend or an ignorance tactic, these ancestors are my true forebears, Song Yun had to bow.
A total of three bows, and after finishing, the two continued to walk aside.
At this very mont, about a kiloter away from the mountain hollow, an infinite number of black jeeps stopped in a dense forest. Several Russian rcenaries chopped so branches nearby and placed them on the jeeps. Then, these n stripped completely and picked up camouflage uniforms from the ground.
Once they were dressed, they paired into groups of two and began applying a variety of paints on their faces. Within monts, their faces were painted in colors.
This is a camouflage strategy similar to their uniforms. In mountains and forests, although it might seem trivial, this type of disguise was highly effective.
The makeup took about five minutes in total, and then these n started digging the ground.
After digging several pits in the ground, they retrieved boxes from these pits.
Bang, bang, bang.
The boxes were opened.
Inside the boxes were dark guns.
Most of them were M4A1, but they were disassembled. It’s clear they were brought here in parts in batches.
It took about ten minutes to assemble the firearms, and after that, approximately a dozen M4A1s were put together. Then, these n took several round canisters from a larger box.
This is a very rudintary rocket launcher, only for holding and firing rockets, unlike the standardized equipnt currently used in the military. Clearly, it’s a replica, but the three warheads stored with it indicate that this thing can indeed launch rockets.
