Chapter 952: Chapter 954: Buying Crystal Jade

The nurse thought it was the elderly man’s family who arrived since the old man had been hospitalized for so long without any family visiting him.

The nurse had been upset with the old man and felt sowhat resentful. At this mont, she perceived Chu Ge and Zhao Wuji as the man’s family and vented all her frustration with the elderly onto Chu Ge.

"Are you two the family mbers of this elderly man?" the nurse asked.

Before Chu Ge and the others could say anything, the nurse continued, "How could you be so neglectful? The old man has been in the hospital for so long without you visiting even once? Do you know what this is? This is unfilial behavior!"

Chu Ge opened his mouth, wanting to explain, but the nurse wouldn’t even give him the chance.

"As children, it’s our duty to care for the elderly. Being so irresponsible, can you really be at peace with your conscience?

The old man remained seated in the wheelchair, not turning around.

He was angry, and hearing the nurse’s words made him truly believe his two unfilial sons had arrived, so stubbornly he did not turn back to look.

Chu Ge awkwardly cleared his throat and interrupted the nurse, saying, "I think you misunderstood; I’m not his family."

The nurse was taken aback, "Huh? You’re not his family?"

Didn’t that an all the scolding she just did was in vain? Or rather, that she scolded the wrong person?

The nurse felt an imdiate embarrassnt, wanting to find a hole to crawl into. She looked at Chu Ge apologetically and said, "I’m sorry, I thought you were the man’s family. I sincerely apologize."

Chu Ge smiled, "It’s okay, you can leave now."

The commanding tone made the nurse montarily bewildered, but she obediently walked out. It wasn’t until she was far away that she realized.

Why did she listen to him so easily?

The nurse, sowhat annoyed, turned back to glare, but unfortunately, behind her was nothing, and nobody could see her glances!

The unfamiliar voice drifted into the old man’s ears, prompting him to look back. He didn’t recognize Chu Ge, but he did recognize Zhao Wuji, who had been there no less than three tis.

The old man’s face was already not looking well, and seeing Zhao Wuji made it even more gloomy.

"What are you doing here again?" the old man said irritably, "Go away, you’re not welco here, and whatever you want, you won’t get it!"

Zhao Wuji awkwardly cleared his throat; he was always the one being chased after by others, never treated with such disdain by anyone before.

Zhao Wuji laughed awkwardly and said to Chu Ge, "Mr. Chu, you see, this is the situation."

Chu Ge slightly nodded, stepped forward, and directly addressed the old man, "Hello, I am the director of this hospital and also a doctor here."

The old man snorted disdainfully, "So what? I refuse any treatnt."

Stubbornly, the old man turned his head away, sticking to his refusal to be treated.

Chu Ge looked at the old man, comparing his behavior to that of a three-year-old child throwing a tantrum for candy.

He chuckled lightly, "If you don’t want treatnt, why are you hospitalized? Is it because you want your sons to visit you, or just looking for a place to sleep? If it’s just for sleeping, may I suggest a hotel? It’s more comfortable and cheaper than hospital fees."

"..."

"If you’re hoping hospitalization will draw your children’s attention, let

tell you, this approach will only drive them further away from you."

Chu Ge said quietly.

The old man didn’t expect a young man who seed only twenty could see through his intentions so clearly.

Indeed, he wanted to use this chance to draw attention from his ungrateful sons, yet after all these days in the hospital, those two sons acted as if nothing happened, completely neglecting him!

The old man’s expression dimd as he looked down at his legs, lost in thought.

Seeing the elder’s deanor, Chu Ge realized his guess was correct.

He stepped forward again, sat down beside the bed, and said, "Your legs seem to bear the marks of an old injury from your youth, devoid of effective care, resulting in lingering aftereffects.

However, your body’s real issue is not with your legs but rather in your heart, where there’s a small tumor the size of a green bean. Although small, it spreads rapidly."

As Chu Ge spoke, he noticed the old man looking up at him in shock, although he quickly composed himself.

The old man’s turbid eyes flashed complex emotions, and he stared at Chu Ge, snorting coldly, "What you said is all in my dical records!"

Smiling, Chu Ge said, "I ca directly from the Capital City and haven’t yet had a chance to review your records."

With a cold grunt, the old man evidently didn’t believe him.

Chu Ge rely smiled and said, "If you don’t believe , may I take your pulse?"

The old man eyed him suspiciously, "What do you an?"

"Your body surely has more than just these two issues. The old injury in your legs shouldn’t leave you wheelchair-bound, and the heart tumor, even if spreading, should spread slowly, as if restrained by sothing inhibiting its growth."

Chu Ge confidently stated.

The old man gazed at Chu Ge in shock, at this mont finally noticing he carried a different aura compared to his peers.

After a mont’s silence, the old man asked slowly, "Are you from the Ancient Martial Arts world?"

There’s a gleam in Chu Ge’s eyes, "You too?"

It was phrased as a question, but clearly, it was a confird tone.

When Chu Ge entered the ward, he sensed a subtle True Qi fluctuation.

Unless he’s mistaken, this elder should be a Postnatal Martial Artist.

For so unknown reason, it caused a reverse flow of his qi and blood.

"Because you are an Ancient Martial Artist, and due to a mistake in your cultivation, it led to a reverse flow of qi and blood, so you refuse dical treatnt, am I right?"

Chu Ge speculated, because the doctors were ordinary people, he concluded they couldn’t treat his ailnts.

Perhaps he knew his days were numbered and wanted to use this last bit of ti to make his ungrateful sons visit him at the hospital.

His unfilial sons acted as if they had no father, completely disregarding if he lived or died.

The old man scoffed at Chu Ge, "I don’t care who you are, nor do I care about your purpose. But I warn you, you’ll never get what you want from !"

With a slight raise of his brow, Chu Ge looked at him with amusent, "How do you know I’m here to claim sothing from you?"

With a cold glance at Zhao Wuji, the old man said, "This person has co more than once, each ti with the sole purpose of trying to buy the three pieces of Crystal Jade from !"
