Chapter 813: Chapter 815: Can’t Go Back
Huo Tianqian scratched his head in bewildernt, “Is this Sunflower Sect actually a legitimate Sect?”
It’s truly embarrassing that even an official Sect can do sothing like this.
Chu Ge chuckled lightly, “Why does it matter if the Sect is legitimate? It doesn’t have much to do with the quality of the disciples. Besides, they didn’t actually inflict substantial harm on Mr. Qian’s family. In that sense, it’s a blessing amidst misfortune. They’re mindful of not damaging the Sunflower Sect’s reputation.”
Huo Tianqian shook his head, “That’s not true. When I entered the villa, one of them was about to hit the child. If I hadn’t intervened in ti, that child could have been hard.”
Chu Ge paused, narrowing his eyes instantly, a dangerous glint shooting out from them, “Looks like I underestimated them.”
Huo Tianqian sighed, “I should have taught them a harder lesson; in the end, they got away too easily.”
Even Huo Tianqian himself hasn’t easily taken a life since Master Guangde saved him and his martial arts were restored.
But he couldn’t stand seeing soone trying to harm a child, so he couldn’t help but take action to teach them a lesson.
Chu Ge and Huo Tianqian returned to the villa. The children and adults were safe, though the children were frightened and kept crying.
“Mr. Qian, the children are scared, and there’s nothing I can do about that. You’ll need to help them talk it out regularly.”
Qian Youquan nodded; he knew that sotis, even if the other party is a master of Ancient Martial Arts, they’re helpless.
“I understand, thank you, Mr. Chu, thank you for coming.”
Qian Youquan had so doubts in his heart, “Mr. Chu, do you think they won’t co again?”
Chu Ge was silent for a while, “They shouldn’t co again. They already know my true strength, so of course, they won’t try sothing beyond their capabilities.”
Although Qian Youquan didn’t know how strong Chu Ge truly was, since Chu Ge said so, he must be very confident.
Chu Ge glanced at the two children, sighed softly in his heart, then turned and said to Huo Tianqian, “Let’s head back.”
On the way back, Lin Dong was puzzled and asked, “Mr. Chu, why do I feel that the task you assigned
was too simple this ti?”
Originally, he was thrilled at the prospect of sparring with soone. He thought there would be
people guarding Qian Youquan’s family, but when he barged in, there were only two children and an adult. What was even more disheartening was that the two children cried even harder when they saw him.
Lin Dong was very frustrated, feeling that this trip was a complete waste of ti for him.
Chu Ge silently shook his head, “If you’re really looking for a sparring partner, let Huo Tianqian practice with you. But keep in mind, Huo Tianqian is not like , he won’t go easy on you just to save your pride.”
Lin Dong was initially happy to hear the first part, but his face changed imdiately after hearing the second part.
He looked at Chu Ge, feeling wronged, and asked, “Mr. Chu, in your eyes, am I really that incompetent?”
On the way back, Lin Dong kept mumbling, completely unaware of Lin Zhao’s mood change who accompanied him on the trip.
It wasn’t until they reached the Gambling Stone Field that Lin Dong realized Lin Zhao had been silent the entire way, head down and lost in thought.
Lin Dong knew that Chu Ge arranged for Lin Zhao to observe the fight to see it more clearly, but he had been caught up in his own feelings and forgot to ask Lin Zhao about it.
After getting out of the car, Lin Dong, feeling a bit guilty, approached to ask, “Lin Zhao, how do you feel?”
Lin Zhao looked up, his eyes holding a complex emotion, and asked in confusion, “What do you an?”
“I an, how did you find watching them?”
Lin Dong asked curiously. Although he had witnessed Chu Ge’s prowess firsthand at the Public Sea Banquet, he still wanted to see that shocking scene again. Now that he’s learned martial arts, he also hopes to have such an impressive scene himself.
Lin Zhao smiled bitterly, “It was okay.”
After saying that, he turned and walked into the Gambling Stone Field, leaving Lin Dong standing there, baffled.
Chu Ge approached and patted Lin Dong on the shoulder, “Stop asking him now. He needs ti alone to think.”
Lin Dong looked up at Chu Ge, concerned, and asked, “Why is he so troubled?”
This was what he least understood; why wasn’t he so troubled back then? Even Huo Tianqian said he was troubled at the ti, but not as much as Lin Zhao.
Chu Ge looked at him and said earnestly, “Do you know why Lin Zhao has beco who he is today?”
Lin Dong shook his head.
“It’s because of his father.”
Lin Dong suddenly understood. Yes, Lin Zhao’s father died saving him; surely, that had a significant impact on Lin Zhao’s heart.
That was his biological father, after all. Although he was an orphan, without parents, never having felt parental love, he cared deeply for the children in the orphanage.
Indeed, if he ever felt love, it was from the orphanage director, but it was different from the love of biological parents.
Lin Dong sighed. Well, he still didn’t quite understand.
“How long will he stay in this state?”
Lin Dong asked in confusion.
Chu Ge shook his head, “I don’t know either.”
The two of them returned to the Gambling Stone Field. Lin Zhao was working with a cloth, but it was obvious that his mind was elsewhere.
Chu Ge walked over and said to him, “Lin Zhao, take a couple of days off to rest.”
Lin Zhao quickly turned around, urgently saying, “No need, I’m fine, Mr. Chu. I don’t need ti off.”
Chu Ge smiled, “Don’t worry, taking these days off won’t dock your pay. I just want you to go ho and clear your mind. Being here, you’re bound to be affected by us and unable to see into your own heart.”
Lin Zhao froze, then after a mont of silence, nodded, “I understand. Thank you, Mr. Chu.”
Lin Zhao put down the cloth, walking out of the Gambling Stone Field like a lost soul.
The weather was lovely today, with bright sunshine. Due to it being winter, the sunlight was warm and comfortable on the body.
Lin Zhao wandered aimlessly down the street. At this hour, he didn’t want to go ho. If he suddenly went ho during work hours, his family would surely think he had gotten into trouble again, and because of his father, his credibility at ho had already dropped to zero.
His mother and grandmother knew he wasn’t a good boy and knew he used to be full of lies.
So he couldn’t go back.
