Chapter 1439: Chapter 1452

At the dinner table, the Old Master didn’t bring up his past anecdotes anymore. Previously, als were silent because he was facing two n and the conversation was all about work, which he had strictly forbidden at the dining table. But now things were different, and suddenly stopping the conversation made him uncomfortable...

Despite this, he still restrained himself from speaking, continuously serving food onto Han Wanwan’s plate.

Han Wanwan quietly ate the pile of food before her, mountains of it heaped up by the Old Master, silently mocking that this was no ordinary family’s al; even on festive occasions, only well-off families could afford such dishes.

The Old Master shot Yuwen Kangli a glance, signaling him to add so food to Han Wanwan’s plate as well. Yuwen Kangli reluctantly placed a piece of chicken in front of Han Wanwan.

Han Wanwan was sowhat surprised, but quickly thought he was just acting in front of his grandfather. The sudden feeling of warmth was overshadowed by this thought.

"Wanwan, isn’t acting exhausting?"

Finally, the Old Master couldn’t hold back anymore. He couldn’t talk about himself since his grandson would use it as an excuse to silence him, so he thought it was never wrong to show concern for his future granddaughter-in-law.

"Not at all, it’s quite enjoyable." Han Wanwan didn’t expect the Old Master to suddenly ask her. Her mouth was still full, and unable to swallow in ti, she gave a vague response.

"How can it not be tiring? I see a lot of night shoots." Old Master Yu Wen said, hinting that he didn’t want Han Wanwan to go out for acting anymore. After all, if she got married, going out and making public appearances would be inappropriate.

"It’s all part of the job. I find it quite good; since I like it, I’ve never felt tired." While saying this, she felt a sense of achievent, imdiately putting down her chopsticks and patting her chest proudly.

"Oh? Really?" Old Master Yu Wen sighed slightly, "Can you tell Grandpa about the details?"

Yuwen Kangli lightly raised his eyes for a glance. He was quite reluctant to reveal the truth to his grandfather, keeping his voice low as if he couldn’t hear.

"Grandpa, did you know? Just yesterday, I acted a scene where I went to a bar to secretly photograph evidence of her husband’s infidelity, only to be caught on the spot!"

Han Wanwan exaggerated intentionally, seeing the Old Master keenly interested, even setting aside his chopsticks to listen attentively to her continued story.

"In the scene, the person who caught

wasn’t the one I intended to photograph, but a presumptuous guy who mistook

for a magazine reporter stalking him."

At this point, Han Wanwan said with enthusiasm, embellishing the story, three parts true, seven parts false. But that didn’t matter; the Old Master couldn’t tell, this tale was ant for soone else to hear.

She didn’t notice the quietest person at the table; his face darkened, currently eating with a sullen expression.

"Grandpa, let

tell you, in reality, I’ve encountered such a person before. I thought to myself, I have never seen soone so arrogant and conceited."

"Oh? In reality? He thought you were secretly photographing him? Was he a celebrity?"

A few days ago in the bar, Han Wanwan saw Yuwen Kangli being pestered by a woman. She considered taking a few photos to leverage Yuwen Kangli into helping her with sothing later.

Unexpectedly, Yuwen Kangli had the sa idea; he managed to take so embarrassing photos of her while she wasn’t paying attention! It was infuriating!

"No, not really, just a young and promising capitalist flaunting his money, extrely arrogant and conceited." Han Wanwan said this while intentionally glancing at a certain soone, who was sending her warning eyes in return. Nonetheless, the Old Master was intrigued, urging Han Wanwan to continue.

"He asked

why I was there. I couldn’t tell him I was secretly photographing, what if he sent

to the police? So I had to say I was working. Guess what happened, Grandpa?"

"What happened? A small-ti capitalist can’t compare to our Six Major Families. Today’s young punks are getting more and more out of hand."

"Grandpa, it’s your rule not to talk while eating."

Yuwen Kangli’s low voice dampened the Old Master’s enthusiasm. The young punk Grandpa was referring to was none other than him. But with the Old Master’s current temper, if he told the Old Master the truth, the Old Master would not only forgive Han Wanwan’s exaggerations but might even break his legs.

The Old Master snorted softly, signaling Han Wanwan, "Then we’ll talk after dinner."

For a mont, due to Yuwen Kangli’s remark, the atmosphere returned to silence.

But Han Wanwan didn’t feel awkward; rather, she was in a great mood and her appetite was big.

However, the silent atmosphere lasted barely five minutes.

The Old Master’s words suddenly caused Han Wanwan, who had her mouth full, to spit out her food.

Coincidentally, she spat on a certain soone, into his bowl, and the entire table beca a disaster too.

"So, Wanwan, when are you two planning to get married?"

Han Wanwan coughed several tis to catch her breath. She surveyed the battlefield she had flattened and found it ghastly, instinctively shrinking her neck to lower her presence.

The Old Master seed completely unbothered by her ungainly behavior, pursuing further, "What? You haven’t planned that yet?"

Could it be that his grandson hadn’t truly won her over?

But they were already living together!

Han Wanwan thought to herself, not only had they not planned that, but a year later, they were supposed to go their separate ways.

She nodded silently, seeing the Old Master’s face fall, his imposing deanor making her heart quiver with fear, hurriedly shaking her head.

The Old Master was puzzled, nodding and shaking hands, did they plan it or not?

"Tell , have you planned it or not!"

Han Wanwan hesitated.

She sneaked a peek at Yuwen Kangli, who was still glowering, his lips tightly pursed, his face still simring with anger, his clothes stained with the rice she accidentally spat out...

Han Wanwan pulled out a napkin, weakly extending her hand, only to have it slapped away by Yuwen Kangli with a loud hit, leaving a heavy, red imprint on her hand.

But Han Wanwan could only endure silently; she had annoyed him again...

Yuwen Kangli drew a napkin himself and wiped the remaining rice grains off his clothes, but the brand-new suit was left with non-deep, non-shallow stains, and looking at those marks, his brow furrowed even deeper.

The Old Master witnessed all this, thinking it was his precious grandson who was unwilling to marry early, so he snorted coldly, "Don’t bla

for not reminding you, if you don’t register, the shares won’t include you."
