??33: Chapter 33 Ling Weiwei’s Request
33: Chapter 33 Ling Weiwei’s Request
“I thought you didn’t dare to co,” she said.
On the twelfth floor of the Moongaze Building, inside the office of the General Affairs Director of Mu Group, Ling Weiwei stood chicly in front of a large floor-to-ceiling window.
The gentle sunlight that stread through gilded her figure with a golden sheen, seemingly cloaking her in a shimry layer that added an air of sanctity to her presence.
“I ca because I wanted the chance to prove to you in bed that I am a man,” he said.
Lin Fei’s brief statent instantly dissolved Ling Weiwei’s formidable aura into nothingness.
Before entering Ling Weiwei’s office, Lin Fei had already made up his mind – the deed was done.
Making excuses or being evasive, especially given Ling Weiwei’s personality, would only earn him further disdain.
So Lin Fei decided to just go for it.
Since he had already offended Ling Weiwei to the death, what was there left for Lin Fei to fear?
He might as well continue with his “sincere confessions”; that way, at least he wouldn’t be betraying his own mouth and eyes.
And indeed, this tactic worked remarkably well.
The office of the General Affairs Director was Ling Weiwei’s ho turf.
Given her already seething anger, had Lin Fei shown any weakness, her montum would have been even more overwhelming, and Lin Fei really would have been buried without a grave.
Ling Weiwei turned around, her beautiful brows furrowing slightly – Lin Fei’s words had clearly caught her off guard.
In Ling Weiwei’s mind, the most likely scenario was that Lin Fei, intimidated by her authority, wouldn’t dare to co in.
She had even resolved that if Lin Fei hadn’t shown up at her office, she would have let the matter drop.
Yes, really let it drop.
A man who dared to act but not own up wasn’t worth her ti.
If Lin Fei chose to flee, his image in her eyes would completely plumt, and Ling Weiwei would use every possible ans to drive Lin Fei out of the General Affairs Departnt.
A man who did not dare to own up to his actions didn’t deserve to stay under her command.
In fact, the mont Lin Fei walked in, that possibility had been eliminated.
For so reason, at the sound of the door opening, Ling Weiwei found herself unintentionally relieved.
Ling Weiwei couldn’t understand her own mindset, but ultimately she justified her actions to herself.
After all, Lin Fei was recomnded by Mu Shanshan, and Mu Shanshan’s judgnt couldn’t be that bad.
If Mu Shanshan knew about Ling Weiwei’s thoughts, she would likely be both amused and exasperated.
Ling Weiwei hadn’t ruled out the possibility that Lin Fei might follow her in, but in her mind, Lin Fei should have been desperately explaining himself, pushing all the bla onto Shen Peini.
This seed more in line with Lin Fei’s shaless nature.
At the very least, he should have pleaded for her forgiveness with an ashad face, but Lin Fei defied any of the scenarios she had imagined.
He acted as if the disparaging words he had previously used to tarnish her illustrious image were not his own.
How could this man be so shaless!
Ling Weiwei’s fists clenched subconsciously.
If it weren’t for the fact that physically fighting him would put her at a disadvantage and might even give Lin Fei an edge, she would have loved to smack him hard several tis to vent her frustration.
“Just now…”
Faced with Lin Fei’s attitude, akin to a pig unafraid of boiling water, Ling Weiwei suddenly realized that none of the argunts she had been brooding over could be used.
However, this didn’t mitigate her anger towards Lin Fei’s previous behavior.
She prepared to help Lin Fei recall what he had said earlier.
But no sooner had Ling Weiwei opened her mouth to speak a few words than Lin Fei interrupted her, “The words I said just now might have been seduced out of
by Shen Peini, but so of them are indeed my true feelings.”
“Such as?”
“Holding you in bed, rolling in the sheets.”
“Shaless!”
Ling Weiwei was furious.
If Lin Fei’s earlier words could be considered an unintentional slip under Shen Peini’s seduction, then now, he was definitely openly flirting with her.
“If I didn’t want to take you to bed, then it wouldn’t be shalessness, but incompetence.
Tell , with your looks, how many n wouldn’t want to roll in the sheets with you?”
Lin Fei’s words made Ling Weiwei both embarrassed and angry.
She was quite confident in her own appearance and figure and indeed, there were many n around her harboring covetous thoughts.
But to connect her beauty with rolling in the sheets was sothing Ling Weiwei found hard to accept.
And yet, Ling Weiwei found herself sowhat at a loss for a rebuttal.
It seed that nine out of ten sentences from Lin Fei’s mouth could be linked to rolling in the sheets.
Seeing Ling Weiwei at a loss for words, Lin Fei was secretly pleased, thinking he had temporarily baffled her.
He walked nonchalantly over to Ling Weiwei’s office chair and, under her shocked and angry gaze, plopped down into it.
He pulled out a cigarette from his pocket, about to light up.
Ling Weiwei, quick as lightning, snatched the cigarette from Lin Fei’s hand and tossed it into a nearby trash can, rebuking him coldly, “If you want to smoke, go outside.
I didn’t invite you in here to pollute the air.”
“Alright, I’ll go outside to smoke.”
Lin Fei quickly stood up; he now couldn’t wait to leave Ling Weiwei’s office.
“So you’re planning to run away now, Lin Fei?
You really are not a man.”
Lin Fei had barely taken a few steps when Ling Weiwei began to mock him sarcastically.
“You’ve never slept with , so how would you know if I’m a man or not?”
He sighed inwardly; won, especially beautiful ones, were indeed hard to fool.
Lin Fei turned around reluctantly with impatience and said, “I’m already here, so what do you want exactly?
Out with it.”
Seeing that there was no escape, Lin Fei gave up any thoughts of leaving.
He turned around and sat back down in Ling Weiwei’s office chair with an attitude of let’s get to the point.
She was the innocent victim here, after all.
Lin Fei’s impatient deanor made Ling Weiwei, who was already seething with anger, bite her silver teeth even more fiercely.
However, Ling Weiwei also knew that Lin Fei had evolved shalessness into an art form, and she would never win a war of words with him.
So Ling Weiwei cut to the chase without further ado, “No matter what, it’s because of you that my reputation was damaged.
To compensate for my loss, I need you to do sothing for .”
“Let’s hear it.”
Lin Fei was sowhat surprised by Ling Weiwei’s reaction; he had thought she would take this opportunity to fire him, not start making demands.
Won like Ling Weiwei supposedly lacked nothing, and Lin Fei couldn’t figure out what she would need his help for.
Though curious, Lin Fei wasn’t foolish; he would listen to the request first.
If it was within his capabilities, he wouldn’t mind giving Ling Weiwei a hand.
What if the woman was moved and threw herself into his arms?
Wouldn’t that be the best of both worlds?
Even if it was beyond Lin Fei’s abilities, he could still refuse.
Ling Weiwei hesitated for two seconds, then asked in a low voice, “How far have things gone between you and Shen Peini?”
“What do you an ‘how far’?
You’re not suspecting that she and I are having an affair and playing you together, are you?” Lin Fei said sowhat discontentedly, “Whatever relationship I have with you, that’s the kind of relationship I have with her, understand?”
While Lin Fei wouldn’t mind sothing happening between him and the desirable Shen Peini, they were still innocent for now, and Lin Fei certainly wouldn’t allow Ling Weiwei to randomly accuse him of things that weren’t true.
“I see.”
Seeing Lin Fei eager to clarify that there was no such relationship with Shen Peini, Ling Weiwei was sowhat disappointed.
What the hell, why are you disappointed, Ling Weiwei?
It should be
who’s disappointed that there’s no significant progress with Shen Peini, not you.
Suddenly, Lin Fei rembered what Shen Peini said in her office about not quite getting along with Ling Weiwei.
Frowning, Lin Fei said, “You’re not expecting
to help you deal with Shen Peini, are you?
If that’s the case, forget it.
Won’s affairs are none of a man’s business.
Of course, if Director Ling is willing to sacrifice so charms and seduce , I might consider it.”
Ling Weiwei let out a sigh of lant, “Humanity can no longer stop your shalessness.”
“Please, call
Superman.”
Ling Weiwei’s beautiful eyes suddenly widened as if she was looking at an alien, reevaluating Lin Fei from head to toe.
Finally, the woman resignedly withdrew her gaze, secretly swearing to minimize her conversations with Lin Fei in the future.
In just a few minutes, the things Lin Fei said had tested a woman’s psychological endurance several tis.
“You’re aware of the situation between Shen Peini and .
I don’t want you to fight her for
but to help ease our relationship.
If you could win her over to our side, that would be ideal.”
Ling Weiwei just wanted to quickly convey her point and have Lin Fei nod in agreent so that he would leave her office as soon as possible.
“What do you an ‘our side’?
Are you finally ready to acknowledge
as your fiancé?”
“Can’t you be serious for even a mont?”
“Sure, but you have to tell
why you want
to help ease the relationship between you two.”
Ling Weiwei gave Lin Fei an annoyed look and said with a slightly more serious tone, “Our company is ostensibly led by Mr.
Mu, but in reality, it’s divided into two factions.
Because you beat up Han Qiming, Mr.
Mu and Han Zhenhai recently broke off all relations completely.
Soon, Han Zhenhai and his people will start making trouble for us.
Shen Peini’s aunt is also a director of our company.
If we could win over Shen Peini, it would indirectly an winning her aunt’s support.
When Han Zhenhai and the others challenge Mr.
Mu at the board eting, Mr.
Mu won’t be left isolated and without support.”
“So, you want
to go and seduce Shen Peini?”
“Say what you will, if you can win Shen Peini over to our side, I’ll pretend the slander you spread about
never happened.
After all, this situation started because of you, and you were brought into the company by Mr.
Mu; you have a duty to help Mr.
Mu with his troubles.
Of course, it all depends on your own will.”
Having said that, Ling Weiwei stared straight at Lin Fei with her eyes, waiting for his response.
