Chapter 4: Making So Money

The dorm had four residents. One was Lu Yuhang, a quiet person who seed hard to get along with. Another was Li Qiang, who had a rural vibe that Chang Hao from Beijing couldn’t stand. Zhou Yuwen seed okay to him, so he pulled Zhou Yuwen along to play cards.

Despite Chang Hao's persuasion, Zhou Yuwen firmly refused to go.

"Then I’ll take Li Qiang," Chang Hao said reluctantly.

"Yeah, you guys go ahead. I have things to sort out," Zhou Yuwen replied.

With Li Qiang and Chang Hao gone, the dorm beca quiet. Zhou Yuwen indeed had many things to take care of—registering, collecting the bedding issued by the school, and hanging up his clothes.

Although Zhou Yuwen’s fashion sense was decent, with clean and simple clothes, they now seed immature from a ten-year perspective, reminiscent of a fresh college student's naivety.

Sigh, this wasn't suitable for him, especially considering what he planned to do.

He had only 1,950 yuan left. After buying so toiletries and two bottles of Coke, he handed one to Lu Yuhang, who refused it.

"Don’t worry about it, it’s my treat. Don’t tell the others," Zhou Yuwen said, smiling as he tossed the Coke to Lu Yuhang.

This made Lu Yuhang smile and accept it.

Now, with only 1,700 yuan left, Zhou Yuwen knew it wouldn’t last long, given his spending habits. Since this money had to cover an entire sester, he needed to think about making money quickly.

After organizing everything, Zhou Yuwen headed to the mall behind the school, spending five to six hundred yuan on a new outfit. He also spent thirty yuan to get a slight haircut and bought a pair of non-prescription glasses.

Dressed more maturely, he was ready.

It wasn’t afternoon yet, and many students were still outside registering. Zhou Yuwen went to the school gate.

"Hi there, are you here to study alone? Need help?" Zhou Yuwen cheerfully approached freshn with decent clothes, offering to carry their luggage.

A random senior doing this might be mistaken for trying to hit on girls. But Zhou Yuwen, with his handso looks and friendly smile, chose his targets well—ordinary-looking girls who wouldn’t mind so attention.

At thirty, Zhou Yuwen was humorous and chatty. He helped freshn with their luggage and escorted them to their dorms. He could gather three to four new students in one trip.

"Dorm A9? I know the place. Follow ,"

"Thank you, senior~"

"No problem at all. We’re all from the sa school, looking out for each other,"

"Senior, are you heading to Dorm A9?" a girl asked as she approached Zhou Yuwen.

She was about 167-169 cm tall, slender, wearing white sneakers, black skinny jeans, and a loose black T-shirt. With her black baseball cap, her pale skin stood out. Under the cap, her bright black eyes and rosy lips made her look familiar.

"Yes, are you here to register?" Zhou Yuwen asked, recognizing her. This was Shen Yu, accompanied by her mother, Liu Man, a typical housewife unfamiliar with Jinling. They were grateful to encounter Zhou Yuwen.

Since he knew them from his previous life, Zhou Yuwen offered to help.

"Let

take that, Auntie," he said, exuding politeness and charm with his clean beige trousers and white T-shirt. His height of over 180 cm was reassuring.

"No, no, I can manage," Liu Man insisted, not wanting to trouble him further.

"Don’t worry, we’re all from the sa school. Helping each other is a given," Zhou Yuwen said, leading a group of five freshn to their dorms.

He acted as a guide, introducing the campus and its unique features, such as the variety of plants due to its agricultural focus.

"Look, that’s Tokyo cherry blossom over there. In March, it blooms beautifully, perfect for photos."

"The row over there is weeping crabapple. You’re a bit late now, but next March, you’ll see how pretty it is. Our school’s the prettiest around here."

He also ntioned trees like Chinese pistache and tulip trees, captivating the freshn. Shen Yu, walking behind with her mother, kept staring at Zhou Yuwen, deep in thought.

Encountering such a tall, handso, and polite senior often sparked fantasies among new college students.

"By the way, do you still use your hotown SIM cards?" Zhou Yuwen asked after warming up the conversation.

"Yes, but I plan to get a new one here,"

"Why not get one from ? For 150 yuan, you get the card, 20M High-Speed Internet, and a free smartphone."

"Really? That’s a great deal,"

"Yes, it’s a special offer for the start of the school year. Add

on QQ if you’re interested," Zhou Yuwen said.

"Okay, I’ll think about it. Let’s exchange QQ numbers first."

Thus, Zhou Yuwen exchanged contact details with a freshman.

"Senior, what’s the monthly fee?" another girl asked.

"There are three plans: 29, 59, and 79 yuan. Let’s add each other on QQ, and I’ll take you to your dorm first. You can discuss it with your roommates. One High-Speed Internet card per dorm is usually enough since so courses will require internet. Here’s a flyer for more details," Zhou Yuwen said, handing out flyers he got from Chen Wan.

"Wow, it’s all clearly stated,"

"Yes, you see, the 29-yuan plan gives two hours of High-Speed Internet daily, the 59-yuan plan six hours, and the 89-yuan plan is unlimited. I recomnd the 59-yuan plan for you girls since your internet needs won’t be as high."

"Why is the phone number here crossed out?"

"It was a printing error. My number is handwritten there. Just call

directly," Zhou Yuwen explained.
