The profit margin for campus cards was substantial, but senior students who acted as agents in the university city had tacitly agreed to price them at 150 yuan. So tried lowering their prices to 140 or 130 yuan to attract more custors, but such tactics were self-destructive, leading to market suppression by peers. Though Zhou Yuwen was a freshman, his past experiences made him aware of these unspoken rules. He could offer additional data and low-price deals to recruit agents but would never allow underpriced campus cards to flood the market out of respect for his competitors.

When Li Shiqi proposed setting the price at 145 yuan yesterday, Zhou Yuwen felt uneasy but didn't object since she was only a part-ti worker, unlikely to affect the market significantly. However, Zhou Yuwen overlooked that Li Shiqi's recruiting was not limited to South University but spanned the entire university city, drawing students from various colleges, including vocational schools, due to her attractiveness.

One such vocational school student learned about the attractive sales pitch and went to join the crowd despite his girlfriend’s brother being an agent. He didn’t expect his girlfriend to find out. Furious, she felt that not only was her brother’s business being stolen, but Li Shiqi was also using her looks to lure her boyfriend.

In 2013, "ghost fire" culture was still prevalent. This vocational school housed students who had left ho in middle school, creating a poor educational environnt focusing more on physical developnt than academics.

The girl, still a minor, with skinny limbs and dyed yellow hair, called a few friends, boys and girls, all riding electric scooters, to confront Li Shiqi. Upon seeing his girlfriend, the boyfriend tried to flee but was quickly caught.

Li Shiqi, who had no social experience, cheerfully greeted the girl. "Are you here for a card?" She handed the girl a flyer and explained their group discount and extra 10GB data offer.

The girl, shorter and less attractive than Li Shiqi, suddenly felt anger. Controlling her temper due to the public setting, she asked, "You’re selling cards for 145 yuan?"

Li Shiqi saw the group and thought the university should be inclusive despite their odd appearance. Smiling, she said, "Yes, 145 yuan, and if there are many of you, I can offer a bigger discount."

"Why sell for 145 when others sell for 150? Are you cheaper?" the girl snapped, poking Li Shiqi’s chest aggressively, forcing her to step back.

Confused by the hostility, Li Shiqi replied coldly, "I don’t understand what you an. If you don’t want a card, I must return to work."

As she turned to leave, the girl’s friends blocked her path.

"Did I say you could leave?" the girl demanded. "Who gave you the right to steal my brother's business?"

By now, it was noon, and fewer people were around. The situation escalated as the group surrounded Li Shiqi. Liu Shuo's classmate noticed the commotion and alerted him, who then inford Zhou Yuwen.

When Zhou Yuwen arrived, the girl tried to drag Li Shiqi away. Li Shiqi resisted, trying to free herself, only to have the girl let go suddenly, causing Li Shiqi to stumble back. She regained balance montarily but was about to fall when Zhou Yuwen caught her.

Under the midday sun, Li Shiqi squinted to see her rescuer, recognizing Zhou Yuwen’s face as the light shifted.

"Are you okay?" Zhou Yuwen asked.

Li Shiqi steadied herself, shaking her head. "I'm fine."

Dressed in light blue skinny jeans and a plain hoodie, Li Shiqi looked nothing like the vibrant Zheng Yanyan but embodied the pure student image.

"I’m in charge here. If you have issues, talk to ," Zhou Yuwen said, shielding Li Shiqi from the aggressive girl and her friends.
