December arrived in the blink of an eye. Life carried on smoothly—aside from Zhou Yuwen buying a Suzuki motorcycle for Lu Lin. Her frequent appearances on campus riding the bike gained her a degree of fa. Soone even snapped photos of her and posted them on the campus forum, dubbing her the "Motorcycle Goddess."
Zheng Yanyan, brimming with envy, begged Zhou Yuwen to buy her a motorcycle too. She was determined, even stepping up her efforts to win his favor.
Zhou Yuwen recalled a ti when he’d teased her about giving him sothing “new” in return. Zheng Yanyan, feeling bashful, had initially refused. But after being slapped by Tao Tian during their infamous cafeteria confrontation, she had obediently relented, trying to make up for her earlier hesitation.
Now, with her sights set on a motorcycle, she whined and pleaded with Zhou Yuwen.
“Hubby, buy one for , please! You can use it too! Just imagine how cool it’d be if you ca to pick
up on a motorcycle. And when you’re not using it, I’ll ride it around. Please, pretty please!”
She knelt on the bed, her petite fra clad in tight jeans that accentuated her curves. With a sultry pout and flushed cheeks, she wriggled playfully, her movents resembling an eager puppy.
Zhou Yuwen lay back with his hands behind his head, thoroughly amused. “Hmm… Impress
more, and I’ll think about it.”
“Hmph!” Zheng Yanyan rolled her eyes at him.
For Zhou Yuwen, buying another motorcycle wasn’t a big deal, but he didn’t want to spoil her. He figured it was wise not to imdiately indulge every whim. Plus, the issue wasn’t just the money—it was the parking space. Both of his parking spots were already occupied, and Lu Lin’s bike had to be stored there too.
With the parking dilemma in mind, Zhou Yuwen thought, Seems like even a large apartnt has its limits. Maybe it’s ti to start considering a villa.
While Zhou Yuwen spent his ti indulging Zheng Yanyan at ho, the offices at the school’s entrepreneurship center had been fully renovated. Zhou Yuwen didn’t particularly care where he worked, but Tao Tian and the girls from the modeling company were "refined" types who insisted on having a proper office.
He’d approved two offices for them, complete with new computers. Tao Tian even got her own private office.
On the day the renovations were completed, Tao Tian eagerly brought her dormmates to inspect the new space. As they stepped inside, the girls were awestruck.
The entrepreneurship center was a newly constructed building with a four-story structure. Unlike the towering skyscrapers seen in the city, this center blended traditional Hui-style architecture—complete with black tiles and white walls—with modern design elents like large windows and open layouts.
The second-floor office Zhou Yuwen had allocated to Tao Tian offered a stunning view of the campus, complete with French sycamore trees and a vast forest of dawn redwoods. It was serene yet prestigious—exactly what one would imagine as the starting point for a career at its peak.
Tao Tian’s friends couldn’t help but gush with envy.
“Tian Tian, I told you Zhou Yuwen couldn’t do without you,” said Qu Jing, a slender girl in a pencil skirt. “His little girlfriend may be pretty, but she’s useless compared to you!”
“Exactly! You’re a real boss lady, capable of helping him make money. He’d be a fool to upset you,” chid in another girl, nicknad "Long Boots."
Tao Tian, seated at her brand-new desk, basked in the complints, feeling a little carried away.
But beneath her confident exterior, Tao Tian harbored so doubts. Ever since the cafeteria incident with Zheng Yanyan, Zhou Yuwen had been noticeably distant. While they still chatted occasionally, he was cold and nonchalant. She didn’t dare bring up the conflict directly, fearing it might worsen their relationship.
Now, with her dormmates gushing over the new office, Qu Jing saw her chance. She leaned forward, resting her chin in her hands, and said, “Tian Tian, you’ve got to help us out. You’re set, but what about us? I an, Zhou Yuwen likes you so much—can’t you ask him to find sothing for us too?”
Tao Tian hesitated, torn between her desire to help and the fragile state of her relationship with Zhou Yuwen. Eventually, she said, “The company is just getting started. I’ll ntion it to him and see.”
Qu Jing bead. “Knew you wouldn’t let us down, Tian Tian! Make sure to thank your ‘brother-in-law’ for us!”
Blushing, Tao Tian retorted, “Stop calling him that. We’re not even together.”
“Oh, please. It’s only a matter of ti. That Zheng Yanyan can’t possibly hold a candle to you!” Qu Jing teased.
As the girls giggled and explored the office, the distant sound of a motorcycle engine drew their attention.
The building’s glass fa??ade provided a clear view of the parking lot below, where a sleek figure on a black motorcycle parked gracefully.
“Who’s that? So cool!” soone exclaid.
When the rider removed her helt, revealing her cascading curls and striking features, the room fell silent.
It was Lu Lin.
Qu Jing’s face twisted into a scowl. “What’s she doing here?”
Lu Lin dismounted her motorcycle, helt in hand, and strode confidently toward the building. Her outfit—a pair of black flared jeans and boots—accentuated her long legs and exuded effortless style.
She made her way up the stairs, humming to herself and chewing gum nonchalantly.
Qu Jing stord toward her. “What are you doing here?”
Lu Lin blew a bubble and popped it. “Forgot sothing. Just here to grab it.”
Without giving the girls a second glance, she brushed past them, opened a drawer in a small office, and retrieved her wallet.
Qu Jing’s confusion deepened. “Wait… how do you have the key to this office?”
Lu Lin smirked. “Isn’t it obvious? This is my office.”
“Your office?!” Qu Jing’s voice rose in disbelief.
Even Tao Tian was stunned. “What do you an?”
“Didn’t Zhou Yuwen tell you? I’m the company’s new deputy manager.”
The room fell into stunned silence.
“What?! How is that possible?!” Qu Jing exploded. “What makes you qualified to be the deputy manager?!”
Lu Lin raised an eyebrow, a small smirk playing on her lips. “You should be asking yourselves that. Clearly, Zhou Yuwen felt you needed so supervision. Maybe he’s just not as impressed with your ‘work ethic’ as you think.”
Before anyone could respond, she turned to Tao Tian and added, “Oh, and keep your little lapdog in check. She’s going to get you into trouble soday.”
With that parting shot, Lu Lin sauntered out of the office, leaving behind a storm of outrage.
Qu Jing practically shrieked, “Did you hear what she called ?! A lapdog! How dare she?! Sweetie, say sothing!”
But Tao Tian, visibly shaken, remained silent, her mind racing.
