Zheng Yanyan initially wanted to tarnish Tao Tian’s reputation in front of Zhou Yuwen, but she ended up digging her own grave. Seeing the detailed and exaggerated posts on the campus forum, she grew flustered. “These are clearly made up! Husband, you believe , don’t you?”

Zhou Yuwen hugged her with a smile. “Of course, I believe you. You’re my wife. Who else would I trust?”

Reassured, Yanyan clung to him like a puppy, humming happily. “You’re the best, hubby.”

Seeing her so happy, Zhou Yuwen couldn’t resist and began kissing her. Yanyan, now fully at ease, decided to show off a little. She kissed Zhou Yuwen’s neck and told him to stay still and enjoy her performance.

Tonight, she seed especially determined.

...

The sensation was incredibly satisfying. Zhou Yuwen told her with a grin, “You don’t have to go this far—I was just joking yesterday.”

Yanyan rolled her eyes. “I’m your wife. Should I leave it to so random woman outside?”

She fully committed, leaving no room for argunt.

...

By the ti they were done, the night had passed. Neither of them knew how late it had gotten. Exhausted, Yanyan lay beside Zhou Yuwen, her hair damp with sweat and sticking to her neck as she fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, Zhou Yuwen woke to find Yanyan still asleep. Her face bore faint traces of tears from the previous night, giving her a delicate, pitiful appearance. A pang of guilt struck Zhou Yuwen’s heart.

In his past life, Yanyan had been a proud, carefree Beijing girl who feared nothing. Now, however, she seed to have lost all her dignity in front of him, focused solely on pleasing him. It softened Zhou Yuwen’s heart. He leaned over and gently kissed her cheek.

The kiss stirred her awake. Though her throat was a little sore from the night’s exertions, her first thought upon waking was, “Oh no, I haven’t made breakfast for you yet.”

She tried to get up, but Zhou Yuwen pulled her back into his arms, laughing. “When did you beco so dostic?”

Blushing, Yanyan replied earnestly, “I can learn.”

“Relax,” Zhou Yuwen said, kissing her cheek. “I didn’t choose you as my girlfriend because I wanted a cook. I like you for your carefree personality. Leave Tao Tian to , okay? Just listen to

and be good.”

Reassured, Yanyan snuggled back into his embrace.

Later that morning, Zhou Yuwen drove her back to school, reminding her to focus on her studies. Yanyan, now noticeably more docile, nodded softly.

As they drove, she recounted the events in the cafeteria. Though her retelling was subjective, one detail stood out to Zhou Yuwen—Lu Lin had stood up for her and even hit Qu Jing.

Raising an eyebrow, Zhou Yuwen realized he might have underestimated Lu Lin.

Yanyan praised Lu Lin endlessly. “Hubby, you know, Linlin is my best friend! She defended

when Qu Jing insulted . Linlin said, ‘I’m Zhou Yuwen’s woman. If anyone’s going to insult her, it’s not going to be you!’ It was so cool! Hubby, we have to treat Linlin well—she’s the only one who truly has my back!”

Zhou Yuwen smiled. “I’ll keep that in mind.”

By the ti they reached campus, it was the afternoon. Classes were in session, so Zhou Yuwen parked his X7 and told Yanyan to fetch Lu Lin from her classroom.

Surprised, Yanyan asked, “You want to see Linlin?”

Zhou Yuwen nodded. “You said she’s your best friend, right? How about I assign her to my modeling company to replace Tao Tian? What do you think?”

Yanyan’s eyes lit up. “That’s perfect! Hubby, you’re amazing!”

Encouraged, she ran off to find Lu Lin.

Lu Lin, half-asleep during class, was startled when Yanyan suddenly barged in, calling her na excitedly. “Linlin! Zhou Yuwen is outside waiting for you! Go on!”

Confused, Lu Lin yawned and asked lazily, “What for?”

“It’s a good thing. You’ll find out when you get there,” Yanyan replied with a wink.

Though skeptical, Lu Lin eventually got up and left.

Lu Lin climbed into the passenger seat of Zhou Yuwen’s car, chewing gum as she leaned back lazily. “What’s up?”

Zhou Yuwen glanced at her. “Yanyan told

what happened last night.”

“Oh?” Lu Lin replied nonchalantly, blowing a bubble.

“I’m impressed. Why’d you step in to help her?”

“She’s my friend. Who else would I help?”

“But you still get jealous.”

“Jealous or not, that big-chested girl was out of line. If you’re going to date soone, stick with Yanyan,” Lu Lin said bluntly.

“What about you?” Zhou Yuwen teased. “Can’t I date you instead?”

“Please, don’t. Things are fine the way they are,” Lu Lin replied, smirking.

After so discussion, Zhou Yuwen brought up his plan for the modeling company, suggesting she join as a manager. Though hesitant, Lu Lin eventually agreed, reassured by his confidence in her.

As she prepared to leave, she asked, “I’ll head back up then?”

“Yeah,” Zhou Yuwen nodded.

Lu Lin hesitated.

Zhou Yuwen, seeing her pause, didn’t hold back. He leaned forward and kissed her on the lips.

The kiss, brief yet intimate, brought a smile to Lu Lin’s face. Sure enough, it lifted her spirits as she stepped out of the car.
